Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Without question, the best midsize car. - 2006 Honda Accord

My experience with this car has been superb. The only other car that I looked at was the 07 Camry. The Accord just seems nicer all around. The ride and handling tradeoff is excellent. The iVtec four is super smooth and has plenty of power even with the auto. I love the LED tail lights and the new front end, very classy. The seats are very comfortable for long drives. I have to drive employees around town and they all comment on how nice it is. The car is very addictive to drive. I find myself driving it just to drive it and wishing my commute was longer. It is always a pleasure to get in and drive this car. I always look forward to it. Nice looking (black with beige interior).

  • Hi performance sleeper - 2005 Honda Accord

The new body style in 2003 finally allowed me to own one. At 64" and 290 lbs i could never fit before. Now i can. I find this car to be a great long distance commuter. I do 90 miles per day and its combination of performance, ride, and fuel economy never leave me wanting. It could use a little more rubber but other than that hard to complain. Highly recommend!

  • A Balanced Auto - 2003 Honda Accord

Have had LX nearly four months, or 8800 miles. Car is peppy for a 4-cyl, gives 33 or 34 mpg on Interstate trips, and even 29 mpg with Thule 11 cu.ft. roof pod. Has good luggage capacity and gives rear passengers suitable room-- get comments on that latter point! Nice driving position (especially w/drivers seat elevated way up), handles with excellent behavior.

We have the car 6 months. Initially the VCM was horrible - constantly hunting, vibrating, etc. much like others here and as reviewed elsewhere. MPG? Not great - around 25. At 3000 miles it all went away! Have no idea why. VCM hardly noticeable, 30 MPH HWY at 75, 26 at 80, so 75 seems to be a significant speed. Seats are firm but not uncomfortable - very BMW like. You either like them or you dont. Advise anyone considering the L to drive one for awhile if you can - some cannot stand the seats. Check the Edmunds long term test comments - they hate them. Car is now very pleasant and performing as expected. None of the squeaks, rattles or wind noise that others have complained of.

  • Happy eith the LX-P - 2010 Honda Accord
    By -

Car is for 52" wife. She loves it! Chose the LX-P over LX for power seat & no hub cap rims. Driver seat is very firm & low. Have to get up to get out. Exterior is beautiful. Interior is nice, not stellar. Very functional with little compartments & sliding armrest. Road noise reduced by adding hood & trunk insulator for $150 via internet. Has more driver leg room than my 2005 4Runner. 5 speed automatic is smooth, but down shifts on slightest hills. It accelerates & handles very well. Fun to drive! Car is not a Maxima, BMW or a Lexas. Not meant to be. Good gas mileage at 24 MPH around town. In essence, we would select this model again.

  • Very Bad Brakes - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Car delivered with a bad vibration in the brakes. dealer replaced front rotors at 1100 miles. Back in at 15000 miles vibration back, dealer turned rear rotors. Customer service has been great all handled under new car warranty. I will not have this car much longer as the brake problems are well documented in this car. How Honda maintains its reputation for reliability is beyond me.

  • 2008 LXP Accord 177 hp 4 Door - 2008 Honda Accord

This is my first Japanese car. Great car to drive hold the road very good and steering is tight. After driving it for a few months I found the seats are tough on the lower back on long runs and it need a few more inches to go back. Fuel mileage is disappointing 15/18 city 22/26 hwy. winter/summer. Very cheap paint and clear coat very chip happy. Good thing its leased for only 2 more years.

  • On the Mark! - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

The 2008 Honda Accord EX-L V6 is an ideal combination of comfort, economy, and pleasure! I have owned either a Mercedes or BMW for my last 3 cars and find the Honda as an ideal alternative to the high cost of ownership of those German automobiles. No, the Honda does not have the anti-sway of those vehicles in high-cornering speeds, but it is more comfortable. I have two herniated disks and the seats of the Honda have alleviated the pain in my legs and back when I drive. I owned a 1994 Honda EX and must admit that this new Accord is like the difference between watching regular and HDTV. Wow, a product that actually exceeded my expectations! Give this car consideration if you want a near-luxo.

  • Transmission Problems - 2000 Honda Accord
    By -

Loved this car when I got it. Ive taken it in twice for transmission work and it still slips. When I got the oil changed I was told it was leaking fluid...still. The cruise control went out and that took another day to be fixed. Some SRV? light has been on for months, I took it to the shop they told me to replace the battery and bring it back again. Ive had to take this car into the shop more than any other, I was told Hondas are never in the shop. I love the style of the car but disappointed at all the work.
