Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Still the Benchmark - 2009 Honda Accord

This is my third Accord and they seem to get better with each new model. Its hard to find manual transmission Accords these days, but I located an LX-P and jumped on it. The 5 speed is the best on the planet. Overall there are no surprises and everything works with precision.

  • Great Car BUT Still Room For Improvement - 2005 Honda Accord

I wanted more power so I traded my 2003 Accord EX 4 cyl. w/NAV for a 2005 V-6 EX w/NAV and not much has changed. Build quality is great. The V-6 is quieter than the 4. The 6 feels better on the freeway. The V-6 is getting me right at 30mpg on the freeway. I sacrificed about 5 mpg going from the 4cyl. But it’s worth it to me. I appreciate the Side and Curtain Airbags for 2005, as well as the lighted steering wheel. The 05 NAV added more voice commands than the 2003 NAV. Honda also improved the User Interface and added new features to make already the best NAV on the market even better (Acura/Honda – same NAV).

I have a problem...rain on the outside of the window and the mirror makes for a difficult time changing lanes. You cant see.

  • Loved this car! - 2010 Honda Accord

Just bought the Honda Accord after LOTS of research. I spent hours reading every review possible online. It came down to two cars, the 2011 Hyundai Sonata and the Honda Accord. I test drove both cars on 2 different occasions from 2 different dealers. While the Sonata has a more beautiful exterior than the Honda, the interior of the Sonata especially the dashboard looks and feels cheap with low grade plastics. What were the Sonatas designers thinking? Also the drive in the Accord was superior to the Sonatas. Those two factors sealed the deal for me and I went with the Accord. Also, the Honda dealer was much more knowledgeable, professional and nice than the other dealers.

  • Close to great for the first 20,000 km - 2003 Honda Accord

Hoped marks would speak for themselves but strangely even those reviewers who seem to dislike the car still give 6 and up. In my opinion, 6 to 8 is good, anything higher - excellent. While performance can be praised as nearly excellent, there are still some obvious shortcomings. For ex., a special care needs to be exercised when driving in the dark while its raining, in particular, when making the left turn. The view is badly obstructed by the frame fragment connecting roof with the hood. AC modes and vents placement also appear to contribute to the problem. Minor but annoying: theres always oily dirt on the front wheels that is unlikely an indication of the brakes serious issue.

  • Sleeper sedan - 2007 Honda Accord

I traded a Focus SVT for my 6-speed sedan. I wanted something with more room and refinement. I am extremely pleased with the Accord. The 6-speed is very smooth shifting; the engine is powerful and smooth. I recently sold my G35 coupe, which sounded like a tractor engine at WOT compared to the Accord V06! I like the stealth(sleeper)appearance of the sedan. The body leans more than I like in curves. I plan on adding some TL sway bars in the future.

  • My 2007 Accord 2DR 4cyl EXL - 2007 Honda Accord

This is my first non GM or Ford car. I was so impressed by my sons 2005 Accord sedan I test drove a 2007 two door coupe and love the ride and wood accents on the interior. The 4 cylinder has plenty of pep, averages 26 mpg city/highway mix (31 mpg on the highway at 70 mph on a recent 1100 mile trip) and the transmission doesnt search for gears like the 2007 Camry I test drove. This car is Lexus quiet inside, even at highway speeds. I am 6 ft 4 and have plenty of room in this car and the seats are sooo comfortable. Fit and finish on this car is EXCELLENT. 10,567 miles and not even a minor problem yet. The XM radio came with the car & I didnt want it, but after 6 months I love it.

  • Our Experience - 2003 Honda Accord

This is a car that I insisted my friend should get after her first lemon of a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Turns out that this Accord makes that lemon look heaven-sent. Its a shame because I drive a 2000 Honda Accord with over 210,000 miles. The suspension rattles and clunks, the engine burns oil, but it runs well otherwise and hasnt given me any major issues. The 2003 Honda Accord that my friend got has just 79,000 miles. The ride is infinitely better, the seats are much more comfortable, and the car is all around a significant improvement from the previous model. However, the number of issues that the 2003 Accord has way outnumbers my own Accord just 3 years older. The transmission is absolutely garbage. This car has left us on the side of the road outside of Vegas in the middle of the summer with an overheated transmission, pouring fluid all over the side of the freeway. After getting one part of the transmission fixed, it started to shift hard. The tail light switch failed and started killing the battery, which I had to fix on my own to save some money. The AC would only blow cold air through one half of the car. The list of issues go on. All in all, as much as I love this car, the quality of the mechanical components is incredibly bad. A car that I told my friend would be reliable and problem-free has been anything but. CarComplaints.com rates this car as the second worst car to purchase and suggests "avoiding this model year like the plague." Boy were they right. Be careful when thinking about buying a 2003 Honda Accord. As much as I love this car, I hate it just as much.
