Following a complete redesign last year, the 2009 Honda Accord carries over unchanged, though the V6's official engine output is up a smidge after further testing revealed slightly more power than previously measured.

Pros:
  • Ample passenger space, high-quality interior, above-average steering feel, high resale value, available coupe body style.
Cons:
  • Intrusive road noise, button-heavy center stack, some find seats uncomfortable.

  • First Month, so far so good - 2009 Honda Accord

Ill try to be as critical as I can to give a good opinion. The problems other posters have mentioned, are definitely there though. First, the uncomfortable seats. Yes, I see what everyone means. I did end up buying a $12 seat cushion from Walmart that has made a difference. Seats arent the best for long drives. Second, the "ECO" function, with switching from 6 to 4 cylinders is a little annoying as well. You have to learn how to optimize the accelerator pedal to minimize this. Navigation not as good as Lexus RX350, but Im still learning it. Voice recognition not all that. Otherwise, I like the car, the look. Its not a sports car, but Im pretty happy with it.

  • Overall a Great Car - 2009 Honda Accord

Very good power, great gas mileage, and typical high quality Honda Ive heard so much about. The only major downside to the car is the above average amount of road noise that you hear on the highway. Around town road noise is not an issue. This is our first Honda and will probably not be our last. This Accord is equal or better in some areas than our Lexus ES which we love and was almost $10k less. I now understand why Honda sells so many Accords. I find it far better than the Malibu, Fusion, Passat, and Altima all of which Ive had for long-term rentals for business. I cant say enough about how great the dealer service is.

  • Happy with my purchase - 2009 Honda Accord

Initially wanted to buy a VW, looked around for one, sent a few e-mails to dealers and got no responses. NONE! I have had a number or far less than great experiences with VW dealers so I decided to look around. Boy, am I ever glad I did! This Honda is awesome, drives great, awesome for the money. If you dont get into this deal expecting a BMW for 20-30k, then youre going to get a fantastic car with great resale value.

What can I say, its a Honda. This is my 7th Honda in 20 years. The unique thing about a Honda is when you get inside and close the door, you hear and feel a solid contact. This is true in all new cars. The unique aspect of a Honda is that it will still sound that way in 10-15 years later. They are just built solid.

  • Great family sedan - 2009 Honda Accord

I traded in a 2007 civic si 4 door sedan on a new accord. My wife could not drive the 6spd manual and she hated the ride. I must say I am a die hard Honda lover, my past 2 cars were civics, one an ex manual coupe and most recently the si. The accord is way more family friendly and has better creature comforts but I miss the style and handling of the civic. This car seems enormous to me but maintains tight handling for such a big car. The exterior looks great and the engine seems to have enough pep for a 4 cylinder. I researched the Camry as well, and honestly I think this car is better handling and the interior is built with better quality. Its no civic si but it is still a Honda.

  • Steering Wheel Shudders When Braking - 2009 Honda Accord

Bought this car with 50 miles. Currently, its at 288 miles. Car shakes when braking. Feels like the brake rotors are warped!!

  • Great Car! - 2009 Honda Accord

I traded from a Civic up to the Accord for power, comfort, safety (VCS)and more interior space. The car rides great, good feel to the road, smooth engine and the MPG were not that much off from the 4 offered in the Accord. Sound system is very good, nice to have Homelink built in and the heated outside mirrors along with running lights included. The only thing I did not go with was the Nav. and for the money did not see the value,of course dont drive that much where it is needed. Brush Metal Color on the exterior looks rich and Gray Leather in the Interior is a great contrast.

  • Well Built Vehicle - 2009 Honda Accord

I have owned many cars in my 25 years of driving, (i.e Nissan Maxima, Infiniti G35, Ford Mustang, Nissan Sentra). I never imagined owning a Honda after Nissan vehicles for the last 15 years. The Accord meets my expectations in styling, performance and workmanship. I dont understand why so many people are complaining about road noise and lack of comfort. The Accord does have a firm ride which adds to good handling. I dont like mushy ride and a loose steering wheel. I find that the Accord handles better than the 3 Maximas that I owned. The interior is very roomy and well made (no squeaks and rattles that I had with Nissan). I have not had one problem in the first 90 days of ownership.

  • 09 Accord LX-P - 2009 Honda Accord

We have had our Accord for two weeks. Our gas mileage averages 25 mpg with the best mileage being 31 mpg. My wife and i are very pleased with the car and found it both comfortable and easy to drive. The seat are firm but on long trips still comfortable. Road noise is not excessive and is related to the type of pavement.

  • Love this car - 2009 Honda Accord

I tested a lot of cars before I drove this one on a whim. I LOVE THIS CAR!!! It has great styling and awesome handling. I have the 6-speed manual and there is always plenty of power no matter what gear you are in. The car flies and is rock steady no matter what the speed. Everything seems well thought out. I am usually someone who gets a new car every 3 years, I have a feeling this one is a keeper.
