Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

2009 OIL DRINKER W/LOUD NOISE - 2009 Honda Accord
By Tammy - October 17 - 11:04 amMy elderly parents bought this car without asking their daughters opinions. We would NEVER have suggested such a purchase with this piece of crap. They traded, well got robbed, of their Cadillac CTS and paid cash for Honda and its been nothing but a money pit and a pin in their and my whole familys life. We were wanting something they could keep for rest of their life but holy geez that wont happen. I bought a Mercedes and its simply the best vehicle Ive ever owned and will ever own. Im hoping to get this heep fixed and passed on to a mechanic that can constantly work on and put oil in it weekly!! I dont know where the oil is going but I know this is the biggest piece of CRAP EVER MADE. HONDA NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING FOR THE PEOPLE THAT OWNS ONE. Seriously a horse and carriage would be more comfortable and less of a pain [non-permissible content removed] and cheaper to run than this heep. They hate their self more everyday it seems and they shouldnt be worried about anything at their ages. They are in their 80s and just need a safe reliable car. Thats it. DONT BUY A HONDA EVER!! Please listen to all these posts. We all CANT BE wrong.

Ill drive this car into the ground... - 2015 Honda Accord
By MG in Chicagoland - October 15 - 2:49 pmBought my EX-L v6 with navi in July. I just did a 3000 to Houston and back. The vehicles performance was great . I was shocked getting 35+ mpg doing 75+ mph on the trip. The v6 is great to have and made acceleration effortless. My only regret was not getting the v6 sport to have a better performing tight suspension.

Happy with my first Accord - 2015 Honda Accord
By Danni - October 15 - 10:39 amAfter my Nissan Sentra flooded this summer, I had to buy something new. After reading reviews and test driving a few cars, we settled on the 2015 Accord EXL. I was a little apprehensive because of all the bells and whistles (did I really need them all?) but after having had it for 5 or 6 months, Im very happy for the splurge. It rides well, its comfortable, the back up and side cameras are very nice additions. The moon roof is nice as well, although living in Houston, it hasnt been cool enough to really open it up yet. The infotainment system is nice and I like that its not a touch screen. Since the screen sits further back, I never have a problem with glare. The wheel-mounted controls are nice as well. The only complaint I have about this detail is that sometimes the Pandora wont connect, and my text messages dont come through the infotainment system like theyre supposed to. The trunk is big, but I do wish the rear seats had a 60/40 split. The only other thing that Ive noticed is that it tends to vibrate a little when it is idling. The Honda service technician said this is because of the air compressor and that its nothing to be concerned about. I do wish the car had more features like tire pressure psi, digital speedometer, etc. A lot of other reviews have mentioned a bumpy ride, but this has not been my experience. Weve taken her on a couple of shorter (5-6 hours) road trips, and theyve both been smooth and comfortable. Overall, I bought Honda for its reputation and reliability. So far, so good.

Dont buy unless you like bumpy rides - 2015 Honda Accord
By Manda Chuva - October 14 - 8:26 pmI cant wait the end of this lease to get rid of this 2015 Accord. I replaced my comfortable 2011 Accord with this new cheap design. You can feel all bumps and cracks on the road. It drives like a donkey. In long trips, you shake all the way and arrive very tired and annoyed. Dont buy unless you like bumpy rides.

Absolute Garbage! - 2011 Honda Accord
By Adam - October 14 - 7:35 pmI bought my 2011 Honda accord ex coupe automatic at a Honda dealership in Oct. of 2015 certified used with 37k miles. The transmission has already started to grind gears, accelerates on its own when at a red light as well as oil burns extremely quickly. This is an almost new car owned by an older couple who traded in for a Honda Crosstour. This car is poor in every aspect and I will NEVER be buying a Honda Again! Going right back to Dodge, not Honda garbage.

Welcome to Lowered Expectations - 2003 Honda Accord
By James M. Krupski - October 11 - 10:21 pmFirst of all I am not sure if my car is an LX or EX or what...it just has a V6 emblem on the right side of the back surface. I know it is a V6 with 4 doors, electric leather heated seats, 6 CD in dash CD changer and an electric moon roof...no navigation system. At first glance my car looked very nice when I bought it several years ago. Its sporty look, accessories and power captured my attention. The asking price seemed a little high at the used car dealer. But I relied on Hondas reputation for making solid, reliable vehicles to consider it worth the price. But, just in case, I scoured the internet for feedback from existing owners and mechanics with hardly a peep. I even checked Consumers Digest and they gave it a great rating even after the transmissions had been recalled (They neglected to mention the recall in the review). Now, several years and several thousand dollars above the purchase price in repairs later, I have a piece of junk that keeps breaking in expensive ways. I have replaced the transmission, central computer module, power steering pump, air conditioning compressor, brakes (discs and all twice) and the electric window motor in the drivers door. I used to wash and wax the car on a regular basis. But then the clear-coat started coming off of the paint job and rust started appearing along the tire wells, leading edge of the trunk lid and the leading edge of the hood. Now one can simply look online and see web site after web site speaking volumes about how poorly these were made. Its true...you dont get a second chance to make a good first impression. As far as I am concerned now Honda is without honor for creating such a horrible vehicle and for not taking responsibility for its poor craftsmanship when so many problems surfaced on such a large scale. This is simply not worth the scrap metal and plastic it was made with. I am stuck with it since I cannot afford to risk getting another used vehicle that may be a money pit as well and I certainly cant afford a brand new vehicle since I am now a disabled cancer survivor living on SSI. I guess it just sucks to be me and Honda doesnt have to take any responsibility for the mess they have created. *sigh*

Nice car except user technology - 2015 Honda Accord
By Skip - October 11 - 1:15 amThe Accord requires top level to get nav and other entertainment/communication features. Thus premium price to get. No HD radio. Voice actuation for anything is poor at best. Navigation simply is not useable in most cases. Limited features, for example it does not show speed limit. No way to upgrade or enhance. Slow to work. Complicated user interface with many steps. Nav directions interfere with phone calls with voice over. No touch screen except for radio. Typing is terrible without touchscreen and regular keyboard. Often give totally wrong directions. Or you cant input the address or gives choice no even close. Worst such system Ive ever encountered. Technology not on par with Ford or many others. Dealer even stated system is weak but the 2016 is better? No recalls or upgrades to make it work are available. Waisted money buying something that does not work. Rest of car is mostly fine with only minor design issues. Miss having a manual mode on auto, was told Sport mode controls shifting buy actually does not. Got V6 because I dont like how CVT transmissions work. Pretty good mileage, get over sticker mpg most of the time.

Honda Envy - 2010 Honda Accord
By Marci Ko - October 10 - 8:42 amKeep hearing radio ads for Honda where they talk about Honda Envy. I have Honda envy when I see people driving Toyota or Mazdas. My brakes went way before any car I have owned in 36 years of driving. I have to add oil every 1500-1800 miles. The dealer is telling me going down less than a qt per 1000 miles is industry standard! Be warned.

For the Boy - 1996 Honda Accord
By Regina Wilson - October 9 - 9:39 amThis was the best used car I ever purchased! I helped my son buy this car for himself after he graduated from high school in 2011. Everybody in the family drove the car to and fro before he even started to drive it, and we had a ball! This car was great on gas. My son and husband even put a new radio in the car with help from YouTube. That made a big difference in the sound quality. The only thing he didnt like about the car that this was an anniversary edition, and the windows were manual (exercise for those biceps). In October 2014, my son was cut off by another driver and hit someone. The car was totaled with 176,000. I wish that we still had that car the way gas prices are. I would recommend this car to new drivers and folks who do not drive a lot. It is worth it. You can get your maintenance done at a neighborhood shop or DIY.
