Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Reliable Car. 4 Cylinder engine which makes for a slow take off. Lately one very hot days, over 99 degrees, my car has been having trouble starting. Have taken the car to the dealership and they have not found any problems. Car tends to idle too high sometimes. But have not had any major problems from this car.

My Accord is dead-solid reliable, but the driving experience is plain-vanilla and road noise is a problem. The ride is relatively quiet on smooth pavement, but when the macadam gets coarse, it sets up quite a roar in the passenger compartment. Ive experienced poor road-noise isolation in other Honda products, including a relatives Acura. My Accord also is generating a disappointing number of rattles and squeaks. Fit and finish otherwise are very good, and the quality of the interior materials is superb. If reliability and economical operation are what youre after, this is your car. If youre looking for pulse-quickening performance and silent running, look elsewhere.

I hated it, but i had to get rid of my Accord. The drivers seat is so uncomfortable - my back hurt all the time - I was miserable. This is in spite if the fact I have teh EX-L with all power seat adjustments. Additionally, for the second time in 1 year my brakes rotors had to be turned and new brake pads installed. Honda would not replace the rotors so I know that since they have been turned twice, its only a short time until the vibration when braking returns. Beware of Honda Seats.

Because of the high road and wind noise, it does not feel like a luxury car.

  • Hoping 2017 more reliable than 2013 - love the car - 2017 Honda Accord

I traded my 2013 Accord V6 for a 2017 V6 Touring after replacing 2013 starter twice in 4 months. Loved the car, but couldnt stand the starter problem endemic to 2013-1015 V6s. Giving Honda another chance, since Ive had them since 1978. Didnt need all the Touring extras, but it came in the colors we both agreed on. Love the V6 power and open road economy [32-34/gal.]; mileage is only about 17+ in our local very short trips. Love the comfortable seats - 12 hour drive to Florida no problem. Love the backup camera, and the camera in right side mirror, which I use to monitor any open lanes to my right. Smooth and quiet, but enough feedback from suspension to remember youre still alive and awake. Great visibility/glass, which is what first sold me on an Accord back in 78. Touring 40-series tires are expensive to replace-have lost two to road hazards in 6000 miles. Top safety rating in 2013 also drew me to this model. A genuine bargain for the power and features this car packs... paid about $4000 under sticker on this last model year, and could have done better if didnt need car deal that day.

  • Looks good but.... - 2009 Honda Accord

A sharp looking car that turns heads. To be a 4 cylinder, I like the pickup. I drive 180 miles a day to and from work which is all interstate, so keeping up with traffic is no problem. But.. the drivers seat is very uncomfortable, the radio cuts out when using a gps unit plugged into the power port, passenger seat when pushed up to let passenger into back seat does not return to its original setting, always has to be reset, road noise is bad, headlights dim down when compressor kicks in, gas cap will scratch side of car so be sure to put it in the cap rest in the gas door. Ive always been a Pontiac man, and I sure do miss my Bonneville. This is the first and last Honda I will ever own.

I was all but sold on the Camry SE, but then drove the EX-V6. Theres no comparison! This baby gets off the line in a hurry. I think my wife loves it more than me... Im reminded of the showerhead commercial - "Its my turn!" Well stand in line to be designated driver & get the thrill of driving this well-tuned machine.

  • Loves at first sight turned to disgust! - 2013 Honda Accord

Amazing gas mileage. I average in the mid to upper 30s and have gotten close to 700 miles per tank. And I dont drive like a grandma. But after only 3 months and 10k miles the love affair is over! After being only a Honda owner I just knew this one would be great like the rest of them. The CVT is horrible in this car. Its jerky at times and sluggish. Other times it performs smoothly for is zippy. It seems like this is a common issue. You just never know whats its going to do, so sometimes when pulling out into traffic I have to second guess myself. Not a good thing. Honda has really lost a loyal customer. Its a beautiful car, but performs horribly. If they replaced the transmission it would really make it a much better car. Seriously considering trading it and taking the huge financial hit. Its that bad!
