This Year's Model Updates:

As the model was fully redesigned for the 2003 model year, there are only a few changes on the 2004 Honda Accord. Availability of side curtain airbags has been expanded this year to four-cylinder EX models -- standard on those with leather, optional on cars with a cloth interior. All four- and six-cylinder EX models equipped with a leather interior now have XM Satellite Radio with three months of free service as standard equipment. And as with all Honda cars this year, a new seatbelt reminder system is standard. Accord models meeting California's stringent Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) standards -- all four-cylinder sedans equipped with automatic transmission -- will also be sold in the states of New York, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.

Pros:
  • Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined and powerful engines, reputation for quality and durability, high crash test scores.
Cons:

  • Best-seller just keeps getting better! - 2004 Honda Accord

Couldnt decide on Accord or 04 Solara, but I made ABSOLUTE right choice w/ the HONDA. The Solaras only advantage: more roomy. It feels like Im driving an ACURA TL-S w/ the powerful V6 & build quality. The suspension could be a lil stiffer on the 5spd AUTO model, but its not too soft, It gives it a luxury-car feel. Leather seats way more comfy than Mazda6 seats & the Honda 3.0L V6 outperforms in power and response to the Mazda6 EVEN with 5spd MANUAL! It looks like a Benz from the rear w/ the dual exhaust & tail lights. XM radio is the best, esp w/ FREE activation & 3mo trial period. Voice activated navi by Honda/Acura is BY FAR the best in industry!

We test drove several cars such as WV Jetta, Mazda 6, Toyota Celica, BUT we chose to buy Honda Accord. Has high safety ratings. Very reliable and comfortable car. Looks great and drives wonderful. Manager of Honda Rosen was very curteous and helpful, who worked out a best price for us.

I LOVE MY HONDA ACCORD., I AM A REPEAT BUYER AFTER TRYING OUT A FORD TAURUS, WHICH I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH. (I HAD A 1997 HONDA TOO) .. I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER CAR BESIDES A HONDA !

  • A mixed bag at best. - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

After 8 years in the Dodge Stratus/Chrysler Cirrus genre, I bought my first Accord. Acceleration was great but the bumpy ride and wide turning are inferior to the previous Mopars. Headlamps are incredibly bright. Fit and finish, upholstery, the small trunk and outdated trunk design leave room for improvement. Ditto for the expensive keys and inability to use power ports unless the car is on. Powertrain warranty is the worst of any major manufacturer. Interior had foul smell. Dealer tried to upsell.

  • Acura by another name - 2004 Honda Accord

I traded in my 2000 Acura 3.2 TL at the end of my lease and "downgraded" to a 2004 Honda Accord EX-V6 w/navi. WOW! Up until that point, the Acura was the best value for a near-luxury car I could find. But this Accord is bigger, faster, has more gizmos you actually USE, gets better mileage, and is about $100/mo less in a payment. The warranty is a year less, but with a Honda you wont need it anyway. If you are thinking about an Acura, check out the new Accord first!

  • An absolute blast to drive! - 2004 Honda Accord

This is my 2nd Accord and already has become my favorite. This car is a blast to drive! The performance is awesome all the way up to its limited 130 mph top speed. 130 seems extreme but the car still wants to go! The seats are tight, the dash layout is very comfortable, and the Navi and XM radio are nice features. I do have 3 complaints however. The 130 mph limiter is incredibly stupid, the overhead eye- glass holder wouldt stay locked, and there is an annoying rattle coming from the trunk that Honda cant seem to fix! All in all I am pretty happy with the vehicle.

  • Honda did a great job on this car! - 2004 Honda Accord

I have now owned the car for a week and have put almost 800 miles on it. The only problem I had is a slight vibration from one of the rear speakers when I play loud, bassy music, but imagine the dealership will cover that under warranty. This car is much sprotier and faster than I imagined it would be. Handles the corners like a much sportier car and can be driven for hours without any driver fatigue. You can see, hear and feel the excellent engineering that went into this car. i would recommend it to anybody.

  • Should have gotten the V6 - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

I was disappointed in the pick-up from dead stop, the rev counter reached the red mark in first gear, the engine whines but the car wasnt moving. Guess I should have gotten the V6. Merging into highway traffic, however is a pleasure, as the car has no problem keeping up with other vehicles once it has the running start. The seats are very comfortable for long drives, all all controls are easily accessible.
