Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Ill sleep easy but....... - 2002 Honda Accord

Smooth, honest drive but vanilla styling and not quite the Honda build quality I am used to. Excellent gas mileage but not as quiet as the new Camry.

  • Strong and Reliable 5-speed! - 1997 Honda Accord

Ive owned mostly Toyota, an 88 and 89 Camry, a 97 4Runner and an 06 Prius. Ive owned an 04 Volvo S60 and a Mitsubishi Magna. I only owned one other Honda, a 90 Civic and that was like a lil automatic go-kart that always started up and went everywhere. My girlfriend killed that car due to ATF filling difficulties on her part.:) I bought this white 97 accord in 2012 along with a 94 same model for my spouse so we could interchange parts along the way which ended up happening btw. I LOVED THIS car, it was peppy and quick, acted like a snow tank (with winter treads) through snowstorms; efficient as could be with avg 26 - 35 mpg depending on temps outside and how grippy the tires are (summers get 35mpg, winters down to 26); fun to drive with the classic Honda shifting action and sound of the motor correlating so well to each gear; and the sheer simplicity of working on these cars, they are so easy to change out parts and maintain. I have to sell my car now because cant keep due to moving overseas. =( Ive hauled 2 kids in the back seat and much stuff in its capably sized trunk. I love this car and it looks goood in its new clean, polish, and waxed look and its Honda 7 spoke alloy rims. The JVC bluetooth/USB/aux stereo in it sounds really good with the stock speakers on this model year. I noticed when I hooked up newer Pioneer and Polk speakers and they didnt sound as good. This car also has decent clearance and ability to go camping with here in Colorado. Gonna miss this car. Will definitely buy another Honda.

  • Great car and good value - 2005 Honda Accord

I have owned many cars and just turned in my Nissan SER off of lease. I also own a Mini Cooper S. Planned on another Nissan but drove the Accord for comparison. The Hondas refinement, room, and economy won me over. Plenty of room for 4 large adults. Fuel mileage (More than one half highway) has never dipped below 30 mpg. The 160 horse 4 cyl with the 5 speed is very smooth and peppy enough for most situations. The leather interior is high quality and everything is well thought out. A large friend spent 2 hours in the back seat on a recent trip and commented that he is going to seriously consider this car to replace his old Camry. He is interested in a new TL but not at $10K more $.

  • Good for its time - 1991 Honda Accord
    By -

I have owned this car for just over a year and havent found it to be as "bullet-proof" as my other (86 Accord LXi and 87 Prelude Si) Hondas. It does get good mileage, handles well, and is well-built. It shows its age in the design of cup holders, passive restraint seatbelts, and the size of the cabin. Still in all, it runs well and is reliable.

  • All around great car - 2006 Honda Accord

This is a great care and now that we have a baby, I am actually considering upgrading to the V6 4 Dr. Great power, handling and reliability. Honda has again done a great job.

  • Doesnt get any better - 1993 Honda Accord
    By -

My experience with my 93 honda has been nothing less than perfect. I am the original owner and it has proven to be the most reliable, dependable vehicle I have ever owned. My Accord now has $185,000 miles on it and the motor is still going strong. I love it so much it is going to be hard to part with it. I just purchased the 2003 Accord. Go figure, from a 1993 to 2003, if that doesnt say anything I dont know what does.

  • Honda lives up to its reputation - 2010 Honda Accord
    By -

What a fun car to drive. Went in to trade our 2003TL type S for a CRV. While there decided to drive the Accords too, and on a fluke drove the 6 spd man Accord Coupe. More power than the Acura, and more fun to drive. Back seat is OK in a pinch, but the kids are gone, so it wasnt really needed. Shifting and clutch and very smooth. Car is laid out right, and with the 271 hp 6 it is fun. There was a limit on available colors, seems most with the manuals came in black. Looks good, just shows the dirt.

  • Great commuter car - 1997 Honda Accord

This car has been great for commuting. I drove it for several years with no problems.

  • Disappointing - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

Overall this is a great car, but a few major flaws have made me an unsatisfied owner. My Accord EX now has just over 3,000 miles and rattles like a ten year old jalopy. The rear seat, headliner, driver and passenger windows and doors, and dashboard all rattle all the time. I am actually embarrassed to have passengers ride in my new car. I have owned two problem free Honda cars in the past and was really excited to get my new one. I bought this for its quality, and now I am dissappointed because of it.

  • Very Best Choice - 2004 Honda Accord

Wife totaled our Lexus, (just a small bruise). Did about 6 weeks of research. Honda always came out on top. only about 200 miles on it, no complaints so far. I like it better than the Lexus, for about $10,000 less. The 240hp will flat move you on down the road. Takes a few days to get use to the Nav,CD and radio controls. Nav is awesome, and I really like the XM Radio. Buy it, you wont be sorry.
