Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • A great car for its age. Great deal! - 1992 Honda Accord

This car is exellent. It has had hardly any problems, although the emissions sensor seems to have trouble. Also, for such a reliable car, the cup holders are troublesome as they do not stay in. It is peppy and fun to drive. It is also more attractive than other cars of its day.

  • Great performance needs improvement for the price - 2013 Honda Accord

Had the car for 4 months and 4k miles. Bought it used/certified with 42k miles. Starter had to be replaced 1 month after I bought it. First the bad: the stereo stinks. FM radio sounds like AM mono. Bluetooth lags but sounds decent. Cd player sounds the best but doesnt read .mp3 discs. USB input doesnt recognize my android phone to play music. Aux input sound is not good. Phone to car stereo interface doesnt work (everyone has this problem and Honda is not fixing it.) The Active noise cancelling doesnt work but is not needed as car is quiet. YOU CANT REPLACE THE STEREO without losing many functions and settings!!! This thing called IMID which controls many functions and features and settings non stereo related is built in to the stereo! HOW IDIOTIC IS THAT!?! The front seats are not comfortable. No lumbar adjust or support. I have good athletic posture and the head rest pushes your neck/head forward. The seats are not (that) bad, but should be better at this price. I use small pillow for lumbar. Missing some obvious features like lighting for back seat, no cup holders in back seat, power outlets only work when car is on, no floor lighting. Not a fan of the push button start. One thing I dont like is the center console layout. Not good use of space. When using cups in cup holder, interferes with shifting, forget using a coffee mug. The doors on my coupe are too big and heavy. Not expecting the alignment and hinges of doors to last. (I wont be doing a 2 door ever again!) Hard to get out of car in tighter spaces and hard to load things in car. For some reason, the pass through feature between trunk and back seat is left off on the coupe? The area on the hood just above the grill is very prone to little rock chips. I think its the aerodynamics? The good: the car drives wonderful! The handling is like a much more expensive sports car! Yes, Ive driven nice sports cars...The car doesnt feel like the rated hp and torque, but its good enough. I love Honda manual tranny and the way they shift and this doesnt disappoint! Hint to Honda...(keep up the way you do manual transmissions!) I enjoy the Sunroof. Factory smoked windows are a GREAT feature! The dual zone control HVAC is a nice feature! Wish fan speed was dual/independent controlled. Trunk space is great for a 2 door and car this size! backup camera screen is nice size especially compared to other cars. Did I mention the handling and steering and braking on this car is incredible!?! In economy mode only 1 mpg difference. Others are getting the same result in econ mode. Im getting about 29 mpg. combined highway/city driving.

  • mpg is disappointing for short trips - 2005 Honda Accord

We purchased a Honda Accord Hybrid just last week. The fuel economy is disappointing us. Because my daily trips to work are short, the fuel saving features dont activate until half-way there. I would probably get equal fuel economy with a 4 cylinder non-hybrid and have saved 7 thousand dollars. The Accord hybrid does show good fuel economy on the freeway, but not on stop and go city driving.

  • Awful Front Seats & Excessive Road Noise - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I had higher expectations from this new 09 Accord however, I find it to be inferior to my 04 V6 Accord in both comfort and road noise. Road noise can be solved with different tires such as the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity tires that I have on my 04. They are extremely quiet! However front seat comfort is another story. There is too little cushioning and the side bolsters are too extreme! The drivers seat is a bit better because of the 8- way power adjustment which allows the seat cushion itself to be raised or lowered and angled flat if need be. The passenger seat with just a 4-way adjustment does not allow this. Honda needs to immediately fix this problem with an 8-way power passenger seat.

  • Fantastic Car! - 2008 Honda Accord

I was looking for a luxury-feel car with great performance at a good price. My two choices were the Honda Accord & the Acura TL. The Honda Accord EX-L V6 with sat nav won because it was just as luxurious as the TL for a lot less money.

  • Rated: A+ Experience: First Hand - 1996 Honda Accord
    By -

Jester, my Honda, has about 140,000 mi. The driver is #1, itÂ’s fun to drive, with a wide but tight suspension the 5 speed transmission is powerful a comfortable bucket seat (power) there are 99.9% non-blindspots with huge windows all the way around the sound system is good, but the CD player is better the trunk is unbelievably large (width and depth!).

  • Best overall value - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I decided to buy Accord EX over Civic Hybrid but went with my heart instead of my head. Accord is really big but it is driven like a mid size car. Overall build quality and design is better than Camry and other competitors. Mazda6 is the best in terms of pure driving experience but the overall quality and resell value are major concerns. Civic Hybrid is probably the best choice in term of overall value but it does not come close to Accord in every other aspects.

  • Very special car! - 2017 Honda Accord
    By -

I had 11 news cars before my SE including 6 European. I can say that this is the best choice so far. Bought it in September 2017, have driven 3000 mile without a single issue. I like driving firm, responsive and tight tuned cars which Accord Sport has all these tastes with very reasonable price. Interior is beautiful, seats are very comfortable, leather gives high quality ambiance. Most of people think that Sport or Sport SE are just polished LX which is not true. Sport SE has many upgrades; mechanical: bigger rotors, sharper steering ratio, direct flow exhaust, interior features: black headliner, leather heated seats, very attractive aluminum pedals and 60:40 rear seat. All these upgrades create a special car without breaking a bank. Everything is rock solid in the car, drives great, great responsive handling for a family sedan. I am writing this after a major snow storm and ice rain, this car keeps its strong handling character. This is my first Honda, vtec engine is a great sample of engineering and the cvt transmission is much better than competitors, smooth and responsive if you use the Sport mode. Highly recommended to daily drivers who doesn’t want to invest in over price crossovers.

  • Bring back the good stuff - 2013 Honda Accord
    By -

My previous car was 98 Accord LX, did 140k in LOT of conditions. I also get to ride lot of rental cars. With that background, I generally agree with all great reviews of 13 from others but will focus on some issues here. The ride is rough on imperfect roads - the noise & vibrations come right into your body. CVT is smooth but the 1st gear is missed greatly for initial 2 seconds. Compared to 98 LX, cabin quality is poor. Seats are hard, storage is less and dash looks cheap. The steering is hard, my hands ache on long drives when I am moving the steering only like half an inch most of the times. My elbows are missing some support on both sides as windows and storage are bit lower.

  • "The car that nobody wants" - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought the 2005 Accord LX Coupe 2.4l equipped with the 5-speed manual transmission, "the car that nobody wants" according to multiple dealers I visited. I am 65" and 220 lbs and cant fit in an EX, the sunroof scrapes my head. Plenty of headroom in the LX. Tilt/telescopic wheel with lighted controls is great! Ordering a car from Honda is not easy, dont believe the brochures on color choice. For $18,325 I got a safe car that will last a long time, offers a good balance of power, sportiness, quality, roominess, and economy. Car is incredibly quiet and I expect many years of trouble free service from it. Many thoughtful features with intuitive operation and flawless performance.
