This Year's Model Updates:

As the model was fully redesigned for the 2003 model year, there are only a few changes on the 2004 Honda Accord. Availability of side curtain airbags has been expanded this year to four-cylinder EX models -- standard on those with leather, optional on cars with a cloth interior. All four- and six-cylinder EX models equipped with a leather interior now have XM Satellite Radio with three months of free service as standard equipment. And as with all Honda cars this year, a new seatbelt reminder system is standard. Accord models meeting California's stringent Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) standards -- all four-cylinder sedans equipped with automatic transmission -- will also be sold in the states of New York, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.

Pros:
  • Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined and powerful engines, reputation for quality and durability, high crash test scores.
Cons:

I LOVE MY HONDA ACCORD. I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED A HONDA ACCORD SENCE 1989 AND I GOT MY 1ST HONDA USED IN 1999, AND GOT ME A BRAND NEW ONE IN 2000(A 2001). I GOT MY 2ND ONE IN 2002(A 2003). IN NOV. OF 2004 I WILL BE GETTING A 2005. I GAVE THE 1ST ONE TO MY DAD AND GAVE THE 2001 TO MY MOM, AND I WILL BE TRADING IN THE 2003.

I purchased a 2004 Honda Accord EX V-6 Sedan this year. This is the first new car I have ever owned and I love it!!! This is not only a great reliable family car but it is also sporty and fun to drive. I would highly recommend people who are shopping for a new car to check out the Honda Accord.

  • Cant beat a Honda! - 2004 Honda Accord

Ive had my 99 Accord for 3 years now and its the first foreign car Ive ever owned, and trust me, its not going to be my last. I simply love this car. I have not spent a dollar on maintenance besides the regularly scheduled oil change. Its has been very reliable car and I truly enjoy its comfort and roominess. Its my first four door, and even though I dont have kids, it has come in very handy. I would have never known it was a four cylinder unless my husband had pointed it out. It runs so smooth and just as powerful as my last V-6. I cant say enough about it. If you are looking into buying a Honda, you will not be disappointed!

  • Another Conservative car from Honda - 2004 Honda Accord

Replaced my 1993 Accord with this. Couldnt pass up the $199 lease. Compared this to a Mazda 6 and Mazda has Honda beat in value for features provided. Similar priced Mazda 6 comes with 4 wh. disc brakes, dual exhaust (4 cyl.) radio button on steering wheel, auto. vol. control on radio. None of which honda offers on the LX model. Honda needs to start thinking outside the box. I know their conservative styling and functionality has worked till now but I can only assume that other manufactures are eating into their sales with more bang for the buck. I went with the Honda because of the lease price and the reliability. If low lease was not offered, maybe Mazda.

  • BIG DISAPPOINTMENT - Consumer ALERT - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

I submitted a rating about a year ago on this car - it was glowing. Well, no problems except ONE BIG ONE. A recall on the auto transmission. I rated the car all "1" (low), since nothing else matters if the car has a bad transmission that could cause an accident-this is in their recall notice! I asked about the reported tranny issues before I bought the car. I was told the problem was solved in the 04s. I guess not. So now, I have to have Honda put an oil jet in (my car is 2/3 of the mileage to needing a tranny replacement - so it is likely the tranny is damaged at this point - and so I just wait for a failure). THIS IS THE HONDA QUALITY EVERYONE TALKS ABOUT!!! DISAPPOINTED ! ! !

  • 1st honda, not disappointed - 2004 Honda Accord

this is my first honda, and im not disappointed. vtec v6 is unreal. all the creature comforts you can ask for. why would anyone buy the tsx and only get the 4cyl. when for less money you have a v6 loaded accord, simply for the acura badge?? doesnt make sense. honda did not disappoint, and the dealership was excellent.

I drive this car almost every day and can not find a reason to go back to the dealer. That in itself is worth a lot to me. The ride, comfort, features and quiet are so good I cant believe this car sold for only $23,500. I still look forward to getting in my Accord.
