Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Hate to sell it - 1990 Honda Accord

Bought it new for my wife. Its been the best car Ive ever owned, which includes Buick, Chevrolets, Fords, Chrysler, Nissan and a few others. Ive never had a major mechanical problem...only routine maintenance, including oil/filter changes every 3,000 miles. Its got about 116,000 miles on it and drives like new. My wife wants a new car just because she wants a new car (go figure...its a genetic femaie thing). When that happens, I might just keep our 90 Accord because I like it so much.

2006 & 7 sedan owners check your dash. I had to have the glove box replaced because it was not aligned properly and made a noise. The old one and the new one both have a dimple or sink mark in them. Youll also see one on the lower portion of the dashboard on the drivers side. Honda says that "sink marks are usually hidden by the graining but not on this dashboard. Regarding the question of replacing it with another dashboard, it will have the same type of sink mark so replacement is not recommended." So basically they got junk from their source and were stuck with it. Another unsightly area is the pass. side airbag, it looks like a sticker was there then removed and left a mark.

This is my fourth Honda. Honda has really improved throughout the years. I couldnt be happier with owning a Honda. This is my 4th one so far! Great value for the money and looks just as nice as a Lexis!

  • Sporty, Smooth and Reliable - 1998 Honda Accord

I bought my Accord new in 98 and have never regretted the purchase for a second. It is, undoubtedly, the most reliable car that I have ever owned, and is my third consecutive Honda. I now have over 75,000 miles on it and still have the original tires, brakes, clutch and exhaust. This car shines on the highway, with smooth power delivery, effortless passing and superb fuel economy. Opt for the manual transmission to get the best out of the 2.3L engine.

This car has 150,000 miles on it and still runs like the day it was built. Smooth comfortable ride, a kick to drive. Excelent handling, excelent acceleration. No question the best car I have ever owned!

  • An Average Car - 1995 Honda Accord

I have an EX Model with 130,000 mile. It does not have good acceleration power. Lot of wind noise, and noisy engine. It has weak handling in curves on high speed. Repair costs are very high. Reliable but not very comfortable. I would rate it as an average car. One review mentioned that with a full tank it can cover 500 miles, mine just do 400 miles (highway) at around 26 miles/gal (My car is dealer maintened and regulary serviced) You can buy a newer American Car for the same price of a 1995 Accord.

  • Reliable? - 2008 Honda Accord

I bought this car because of Hondas reputation of building a reliable car. Unfortunately, with less than 30K miles on the car, the engine malfunction light came on. I took it to the dealership to find out that all of the valve seals in both heads needed to be replaced. According to the dealership, this is the second vehicle (within a 2 week time span) that they have seen with this problem. From the sounds of it, these are not isolated incidents either. I would not recommend purchasing this vehicle.
