Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • 14 year owner shooting for 250000 miles - 2002 Honda Accord

Love my car===despite transmission replacement at 83g which after some discussion cost me 1100 instead of the full quoted cost of 2200. Brake rotors are basically a routine issue due to warping. This in turn quickly causes front end issues if not addressed as soon as you notice wheels shaking when you brake over 50 mph. I still enjoy driving it after 173G miles and will likely keep it till 250g if the transmission doesnt crap out again. I feel the rotor warping issue has been handled terribly by Honda. At very least they should turn the rotors at no cost for lifetime owners!

  • Accord still fun at 30,000 miles - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought my Accord for a very reasonable 18,300 in April 2004. I test drove a similarly equipped Camry and Accord on the same day and the engine and brake performance as well as the handling were much better in the Honda. After 30,000 miles I am still amazed at the power of the 4- cylinder engine. The engine turns only 2000 rpm at 60 mph and cruises effortlessly at 3000 rpm at 90 mph. Even at high speeds it still feels very safe with one exception. The LX comes with front disc and rear drum brakes. From the start when braking at higher speeds I had a shimmy and mediocre stopping distances. The rear brakes needed resurfacing at 25K miles.

    I love this car.

  • Fantastic for the $$ - 2003 Honda Accord

I tried Acura RSX and Toyota Camry before trying the Accord. Won instantly. Love the drive...feels like a luxory car drive, but simple and functional. I feel safe, safe, safe in this car...even in nasty weather. Had a Honda Civic and Acura V6 in the past.

  • my 4th Honda is the best - 2003 Honda Accord
    By -

For the price and after shopping for several different autos, I thought this 2003 EX V6 Sedan has the best bang for the buck. I can not think of another item to add to the interior. My only complaint, which is really small, is the rear exterior view does not match the side or front view. I quess I dislike it the least. The car drives, handles, and is tight. Interior looks like that of a much more expensive brand.

  • Known Mechanical Problems - 2000 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my first Honda. I have had the car in the shop for front end vibration. Balance and alignment did not fix problem. Car is now in the shop to replace the transmission,(31,000 miles). This is a known problem. Service bulletin has been issued. This make/model also has an intermittant problem with not starting. Sometimes you have to grind the starter and sometimes, you turn the key and nothing happens. This is also a known problem with no fix.(as stated by dealership).

  • 200K and still kicking - 1991 Honda Accord
    By -

This car has been great ever since I got it at 75K miles. It drives the same as the day I bought it. New radiator and AC with regular oil changes have kept this car in great shape. The paint seal is going on the hood and yes the antenna needs regular lubrication to keep it retracting (silicone works well). What do you expect from a 12 year old? Go Honda!

  • great car, but Im selling mine! - 1992 Honda Accord
    By -

Ive had this car since 97 and its coming up on 174K miles. The first 130K were great and then repairs started happening (as I would expect) - and theyre expensive! The car developed 4 major oil leaks, the brakes needed replacing which is expensive on these (4-wheel disks and press-on rotors), and last week I had a suspension spring break which evidently is common. This is my second Accord (86 which lasted 190K) and its a great car - but time to move on!

  • Excellent car - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

Bought it after testdriving several competitors, camry, nissan. So far enjoying it completely. Nice acceleration, comfort, fun to drive. My first Accord, but not the first Honda. Looks good inside and out, comfy leather, clean lines.Comes with everything included, which is nice.Even my teenage son is impressed!

  • Not So Great A Car, just OK - 2003 Honda Accord
    By -

First Honda. Purchased this car mainly because of design and reputation. Hate the ride (rough and loud on freeways). Has serious blind spots rear quarter and front. Stereo leaves much to be desired. Gas mileage first 4000 miles is terrible, much less than my Solara. Rear seat room very minimal. Moon roof control can only be operated by driver and is not auto one touch open/close. Engine hesitates during quick acceleration.
