Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Great Car - 2004 Honda Accord

Have own the Accord for 9 months and I have put approx. 18,000 trouble free miles on so far. No squeaks, no rattles and fablous drive train (4 cyclinder 5 manual). All the power and performance I need and gas mileage is pretty good. Sporty handling as well.

I bought this car new and have had little trouble other than maintenance. Currently 138K. For those who question the firm shift--the auto transmission shifts firmly but this is why it far outlasts any smoother shifting GM transmission. Smooth shifting comes from slipping clutches which accelerates wear. Firm shifts allow transmission life of 200M or more. Very durable, reliable car.

My Accord is fun to drive and has been very reliable. I really value the fuel economy... sometimes I cant remember the last time I had to get gas!

After researching several competing models I settled on the Honda Coupe 4 cyl. automatic. It seemed to offer a reasonable compromise between fuel economy and sporty styling. The ride/drive was uninspiring until adding after market 18 inch wheels and 245/40/18" tires which made the car a much more enjoyable vehicle in most all respects, primarily due to the reduction in unsprung weight (check the weight of the factory wheel tire combo). Im averaging 28 MPG overall, and with the acceptable performance of the 190 HP 4 cyl., I dont feel like Im driving a "econobox".

  • Unreliable & Poor Gas Mileage - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

Update at 11k miles: Bought the car in October - In December had the overhead cams, rocker arm, fuel injectors and battery all replaced - dealership claiming bad gas (no reports to prove it). In February took the car in for an oil leak. In March had the right front rim/tire replaced because of pothole - had car realigned and balanced - still vibrates between 60-70 mph till date. Currently the rubber door seal if falling off. The best gas mileage I can get is 22 mpg which is mostly highway and the car sometimes hesitates during acceleration

  • Not impressed - 1992 Honda Accord

This car jerks like no other. Id rather have a GM car, but not bad on reliability at this tie they were defintley better than GM. If looking for this used Id recomend but not new.

  • best car ever - 1993 Honda Accord
    By -

I love my 1993 Accord wagon! It is the best car I have ever owned - in fact, we love it so much we went out and bought a 2003 EX sedan!! It rides and handles great and is simply a joy to drive and own.

  • My Hybrid is AWESOME!! - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

I love my Accord Hybrid!! It is fun to drive and the V6 makes it quick - not gutless in the least. The change between the gas and electric engines is indistinguishable. I love the fact that the dash shows when it is running via the gas engine and also when only the electric engine is on. The braking charges this remarkable car. The price is steep, but as more companies make these cars, the price will drop. All of my friends wish they had this car!!!

  • Wow! As Good as the TL I traded in - 2016 Honda Accord
    By -

I traded in my 2004 Acura TL for a 2016 ex-L 6 cylinder Sedan. Pros: Looks great, gas mileage on the highway is 34 mpg and 26 around town. Love the steering....almost a modified rack and pinion feel. The 6 cylinder has great acceleration, yet great regular gas mileage. Comfortable and good leg room in the back seat for guests. Trunk has plenty of space. Whats not to love? Cons: Ive gotten used to the all touch screen electronics. I would prefer a modified tech package with some commonly used functions having buttons vs. touch. Touch often forces you to take your eyes off the road, although the radio volume and channel changes can be done from the steering wheel. I dont miss my TL much - this car is a real winner. Honda should be using this great 6 cylinder engine in more of their vehicles.
