Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

I have owned my Accord for 7 years and am the original owner. I depend on this vehicle to get us everywhere we need to go baseball games, basketball games, football games, vacations, work, etc... I change the oil every 4K and perform all routine maintenance as set by the owners manual. I have 142K miles on this car and it continues to perform just as good as it did 7 years ago. I have a manual transmission and I have the original clutch and brakes. I feel this vehicle will go another 142K. I continue to be impressed with the dependability and resale value of this vehicle.

This is the first Accord Ive owned since 1993, and we just sold it. We kept it for slightly under 2 years. The motor was strong for a 4 and with such a large car we averaged over 25 MPG combined driving. Our best tank was 31. The road noise was greater than expected. We had the driverÂ’s seat in for repair twice, one for a frame replacement to fix the "power ratchet" issue. Our last item was the brakes. We only got 28,000 miles from our pads and with the replacement they still were not "great". Not a bad car, but not in league with my 1993 or my Toyota.

  • No problems here - 2009 Honda Accord

I bought my 09 back in Aug of 08. So far Ive driven 5400 miles. Ive had no problems with it. Not once has it been in for any repairs. It does have road noise at cruising speeds. But, coming from a BMW Im use to that. Would be nice if the seats have more cushion. Can get uncomfortable on long trips. I have no issues with the way it drives though. Good gas mileage for this size V6. Overall Im happy with the purchase.

  • The Best Accord Ever - 2004 Honda Accord

This is my 3rd Accord and by far the very best. The V-6 is outstanding with loads of power and torque. It is quite and thrifty for a V-6. 27 mpg all around driving and 31mpg highway. Not one problem in 13,000 miles. Spend the extra and get the V-6, you will not be dissapointed. The leather seats are very comfortable and supportive. Dash layout is very user friendly. Ride and drive are outstanding with just the right balance between sport and good ride. Torque steer at full throttle is almost nill. It does grow on you though. I highly recommend this car to anyone looking for a great mid-size with dependable service and great resale value.

There is no doubt about it, I must say that this is hands down the most reliable car I have ever owned! The Honda Accord is sturdy, powerful, and easy to drive. I have not yet had a problem with blind spots or failure of any kind. I would prefer it had a full spare, and a larger gas tank, however these minor issues do not at all deminish the aptitude of this autmobile!

  • Get In-Turn Key-Drive - 1999 Honda Accord
    By -

Bought the 1999 LX 4dr just over 4 years ago. I fill it will gas, do the oil changes, tire rotation and other planned maintenance. In a nutshell, I get in the car, turn the key, and drive. No problems, no worries, nothing. Very reliable. Great car.

  • Squeaks and rattles - 2002 Honda Accord

2.5 year old EX-L with 29000 miles. The good: love the engine – doesn’t make a lot of power but riding single or with one passenger you don’t really notice. Really nice 5-speed transmission. The bad: too many squeaks and rattles. The dealer has been cooperative, but a good dealer can’t make up for a poorly put together interior. Gas mileage of 16/23. Front rotors warped at 15,000 miles. Seats feel uncomfortable on long rides and the low beam headlights are a joke. Overall, this could have been a really nice car, but falls short because of poor quality control. After 2.5 years of trying I’ve decided to sell it and buy something else

  • NOT IMPRESSED - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

This car has been back to a dealership several times for problems in less than 8 months of purchase. The brakes went bad- had to cut the rotor and replace the pads. The catalistic converter had to be replaced. What appears to the struts are making a rattling noise when driving over ruff terain...and in regards to the silky smooth gear box...hmmm, not in this car.
