Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • I hate oil companies and love this car! - 2006 Honda Accord

This is a wonderful vehicle with incredible pickup and cruise capability. I love the fact that the mileage averages about 30 mpg overall and the electric emission reducing hybrid system rocks! Fast, comfortable, and can rocket into highway traffic if required or you can "feather" the accelerator and watch the mpg climb. Final thought... I keep hearing this is not a good deal relative to mileage when compared to the Accord 4 cylinder. That may be so but the trade off for a great ride with great mileage makes this a top choice. Also, watch the resale value when gas hits $4.00+ per gallon!

  • The perfect commuter car - 1992 Honda Accord

I bought this car in 1998 and it had 31,000 miles on it. It has 239,000 now. Right after I bought it the distributor had to be replaced, then the alternator at about 120,000 miles. Other than that, normal maintenance. Still averages about 28 mpg between city and highway driving. It has a manual transmission and I have never replaced the clutch. In the next month I will be getting my second set of half shafts (driveshafts) put in. Then I will be selling it in favor of a newer Accord. By all accounts the newer models have only gotten better.

  • Bad... Bad... Bad... - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

Weve owned several Accords through out the years and the 2008 model, is by far, the worst of the bunch. First and foremost, its literally the cheapest Accord that weve seen material wise. Gone are the LED-illuminated tachometer, LED brake lights, and illumination lights on all 4-doors. Gone are the individualized engine component protectors that were so touted in the previous generation Accord. The elegant and simple-to-use interior of the previous model has been replaced with cluttered and confusing array of buttons. The quality of the interior material is vastly inferior to the previous models - it looks and feels CHEAP.

  • Great car, needs a few changes - 2006 Honda Accord

This car is great in some ways but can use improvement. The seats are a bit hard but comfortable. The leather is great. The ride is stiff. Handiling is great. The car is quiet and shifts into other gears smoothly with great pickup. I think the car should have been made a bit larger and the ride should be smoother.

  • its a honda - 1999 Honda Accord

I think the body style is one of the best on the road. I feel a little cramped in it though. I think one of the most useless features is the power height adjustment. I still dont sit low enough in it even when its all the way down. My daughter plays a joke on me when she raises the seat before i get in and i wind up practically cutting my legs off between the seat and steering wheel. It handles great. It is a blast to drive. Could use some more cojones though.

  • our FIRST new car! - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

We purchased our first new car in November, and weve been together 13 years with two children, lots of sports and running around. We researched many cars and in the end, we always went back to the Hondas...the deal we got on the DX was INCREDIBLE...we paid less than 13,000 with no trade in, brand new, off the lot for a 2005....it has already got almost 15,000 miles on it and we LOVE IT...roomy for the 4 of us, huge trunk....great ergonomics inside...looks great outside too...our gas mileage has been about what it stated, maybe a little under...but that is when my husband is driving :-) very dependable....no problems thus far and I know people with Honda Accords with 250,000 + miles...

  • Id buy another - 2000 Honda Accord
    By -

Purchased a Honda for the first time used. I am very pleased with the car. Very minor problems, alternator, emmisions valve, all covered under waranty. In each instance the dealer worked with me with no hassles. Honda service is nothing like dealing with the Chevy house. I have had good luck with repairs, and the car is always ready when it is supposed to be.

  • A mixed bag at best. - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

After 8 years in the Dodge Stratus/Chrysler Cirrus genre, I bought my first Accord. Acceleration was great but the bumpy ride and wide turning are inferior to the previous Mopars. Headlamps are incredibly bright. Fit and finish, upholstery, the small trunk and outdated trunk design leave room for improvement. Ditto for the expensive keys and inability to use power ports unless the car is on. Powertrain warranty is the worst of any major manufacturer. Interior had foul smell. Dealer tried to upsell.
