This Year's Model Updates:

As the model was fully redesigned for the 2003 model year, there are only a few changes on the 2004 Honda Accord. Availability of side curtain airbags has been expanded this year to four-cylinder EX models -- standard on those with leather, optional on cars with a cloth interior. All four- and six-cylinder EX models equipped with a leather interior now have XM Satellite Radio with three months of free service as standard equipment. And as with all Honda cars this year, a new seatbelt reminder system is standard. Accord models meeting California's stringent Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) standards -- all four-cylinder sedans equipped with automatic transmission -- will also be sold in the states of New York, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.

Pros:
  • Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined and powerful engines, reputation for quality and durability, high crash test scores.
Cons:

  • Although It is too early to review... - 2004 Honda Accord

some items (such as fuel economy, reliability) as I just bought my this second Accord today, I just went ahead and rated these based on my previous experience. Of course, my last Accord was built in Japan and this one in Mexico, but hopefully that wont have changed the build quality and reliability. However, looks, feels and drives simply awsome, My deep Green color is outstanding (Graphite Pearl is equaly good). Limited choice on interior color, but one can live with. BUT THE ONLY (AND TERRIBLY) ANNOYING PART IS ... THERE IS NO CASSATE PLAYER AS STANDARD !!!! ONE HAS TO PAY EXTRA FOR THE IT. That is very very annoying.

I had a 2001 and I loved it but traded in on a newer one. I LOVE this car! Nice handling on curves. It is a MUST BUY car.

I never thought I would buy a Honda but when I first saw the options availabe on the new Accords I was very impressed. The nav system really grabbed my attention. The ride is smooth and comfortable while still giving that in control sporty feel. It has more horse power than most other cars in its class and it comes through when you hit the pedal. The car is actually for my wife as I am a Ford Truck man, but I really like to drive this car. The final item to put me over the top was the price, I could never get into another car with as many great features for the $27k I paid. I only have about five hundred miles on the car so far but have no second thoughts.

  • The EX V6 offers nothing less than - 2004 Honda Accord

a Lexus ES330 and is costing $7000 less. This is the car for people like me who is pragmatic and does not care much about showing off with a lexus name.

I just got my 2004 Accord EX (Sedan w/ Leather) this past weekend & completely love this car. On top of the realiability & affordibility youve come to expect from Honda (Ive driven Hondas for 10 years), Honda has done a great job making you feel like youre riding in a luxury car that should cost $10,000 more, easy. I love the sleekish exterior, but the interior is where I feel the Accord really shines. Its such a comfortable ride that gives you everything you need whether you have a family or whether you are single, like me, and just want the space & the ammenities of a family sedan.

  • Honda will not fix sulfur smell - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

I purchased a Honda Accord LX from Marty Sussman Honda on 3/15/2004. From the very beginning there was a rotten egg smell that would permeate the entire interior of the car. The dealer acknowledges that it smells. Honda actually has a pre-printed paper stating that the smell comes from too much sulfur in the gas. Honda claims the car is "operating according to specifications".Why would you design a car to run on lower sulfur fuel when there is no low sulfur gas suppliers outside of California.I asked where can I get the right gas and they did not know. Honda denied any responsibility so I contacted a lemon law lawyer that said Im not the only case that they have handled with this problem.

  • Not all theyre cracked up to be! - 2004 Honda Accord

Im surprised by the inconsistency between magazine reviews of this vehicle and actual real world driving. For the most part, it is a well built vehicle, though far from the perfect theyre said to be. Interior is plagued by multiple annoying rattles, especially in the doors, back shelf and the console bin cover. Stereo would be fine if only I could play it louder, but the vibrations it causes keep me from doing so. Dealer has yet to correct. Engine is outstanding, though. And while most cars grow on you after a while styling- wise, this one looks less attractive the longer I have it.

  • Unbelievable Value - 2004 Honda Accord

My first Honda. Ive owned a couple Acura Integras in the past, and was happy with them. Picked the Accord over the Mazda 6 and Nissan Altima. I was pretty sold on buying a Mazda 6, and wasnt even considering an Accord because I thought it was too conservative looking. I drove the Accord anyway, and fell in love with it right away. The interior quality and finish is generally superior to the other cars I looked at. And the performance, wow! Impressive low end torque. As quiet and smooth a car as Ive ever been in. Ive been getting over 25mpg, better than the 2.5L V6 in my Mazda 626. No missing features on the ES-V6, everything is standard.
