Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Its been good to me - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

I purchased my Honda Accord new and have been the only owner. The car now has about 108,000 miles on it and I havent had any major issues. The only problem that just developed is that my rear passenger side door locked and I cannot get it unlocked. I will have to take it in to the dealership for this. I have it serviced regularly and could not ask for a better vehicle! Buying a Honda was a great choice. I will be giving mine to my son in four years and expect it to last him through his last few years of high school and through college!

  • LOVE THIS ROCKET SHIP! - 2011 Honda Accord
    By -

Im very picky about what I drive, which is why I chose the Coupe. This car has beautiful lines, I cant tell you how many compliments I get on this car. I bought the Polished Metal with Black Leather and couldnt be more happier. I could easily see 10 years from now this car still turning heads. I really wanted to buy stick shift but after I saw the automatic came with the paddle-shifters I chose the automatic and couldnt be more happy. What is truly amazing is that Ive seen used versions of my car selling for nearly what I paid for the car Brand NEW! Oh Honda, I love their re-sale value. Thats exactly why I didnt buy the Genesis Coupe. Oh and did I mention the car is just BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Still running great. No problems. Have 5k miles now. Glad we bought it. Still only 25 mpg though - kind of dissapointed with gas mileage. Have gotten use to firm seats. Havent had it on a long road trip yet.

  • It Never Quits! - 1994 Honda Accord

This car right here was purchased by my cousin back in 95 its jet black with the spoiler which makes it look that much cooler. this car now has 374,000 miles and, still running strong it still rides on the original suspension, axles, struts. and the only thing that has went wrong recently was the radiator and, blower motor and thermostat also went out but what can you complain about? over 300,00 miles and, Just now giving minor problems I have to say this was the best accord ever made if you can get one go for it because they are worth every dime!

  • I love my doofy!! - 1990 Honda Accord
    By -

Yes, you read that right, my cars name is doofy. My car is over 20yrs old at this point, almost as old as i am, and runs like a dream!!! This car has raised my expectations of all cars! My doofy has about 210k miles on it with no problem in sight... in fact the guy i bought it from had drove it non-stop from washington state to florida without any problems, 2yrs ago!! How many 20yr old cars would you do that in?! Only this one!!! At this point and age, yes it may need a paint job... but the engine on these cars are amazing, if you have the chance to buy one, Id say you are not wasting ur money.... and you will probably be driving it for another 20 yrs!!!

  • Mine must be a lemon?? - 1994 Honda Accord
    By -

Im not sure what everyone else is raving about regarding how great and reliable this car is, because mine has been quite the opposite. I bought mine in 2007 with 98k miles on it from a friend who had just replaced the timing belt. Still, over the past 5 years, I have replaced more things on this car than I ever have on any of my other vehicles Ive ever owned. Ive owned 3 Hondas in the 90s, 2 Toyotas in the 90s, 2 Nissans 80s, a Volvo 90s, and a Pontiac 80s. This was the worst car out of all of them.

  • Bad Transmission - 2002 Honda Accord
    By -

Purchased a 2002 Accord 4 cyl about a year and a half ago, had about 85,000 miles on it. Before purchasing, took it to a Honda dealership, who checked it out. They said it was in great shape. It now needs a new transmission, with less than 100,000 miles. Ive never had a car with less than 100,000 miles on it need a transmission. But from what Ive heard, this seems to be a recurring problem with these cars. Contacted American Honda, who said they would not help with the repair (You know, Im not the original owner, they have no dealership maintenance records, etc etc). Why should I expect them to own up to a known problem with their cars? Will probably be the last Honda I buy for a while.

  • Transmission - 2002 Honda Accord
    By -

I had transmission breakdown in my 2002 Accord EX, 4-cyl just close to 70,000 miles. The dealer price was $3500. This was too much and I got it fixed outside for $1500 which is not performing very good. Now I am hearing from several mechanics that you are lucky if you did not have transmission issues with a Honda before reaching 100,000 Miles. Note that Honda transmission flush needs the most expensive oil and costs more than some luxury cars may be to compensate for their bad design.

  • My First Car - 1999 Honda Accord
    By -

This was my first car, given to me by my step dad. I got it with about 180,000 miles on it. I drove it up until about 200,000. The transmission started acting up but we didnt think it was a big deal. Turned out the torque converter went bad and ruined the solenoids. Other than that issue, i had no other problems whatsoever. The car has been in an accident and all that happened was a bent hood and a scratched headlight cover. This car could take just about anything and i loved it. It was extremely comfortable to drive and had pretty good gas mileage. The motor ran strong and still does.

I owned this car for 10 years and loved it. The transmission started to act up, so I am moving on.
