Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Another Conservative car from Honda - 2004 Honda Accord
By RichF - January 8 - 10:00 amReplaced my 1993 Accord with this. Couldnt pass up the $199 lease. Compared this to a Mazda 6 and Mazda has Honda beat in value for features provided. Similar priced Mazda 6 comes with 4 wh. disc brakes, dual exhaust (4 cyl.) radio button on steering wheel, auto. vol. control on radio. None of which honda offers on the LX model. Honda needs to start thinking outside the box. I know their conservative styling and functionality has worked till now but I can only assume that other manufactures are eating into their sales with more bang for the buck. I went with the Honda because of the lease price and the reliability. If low lease was not offered, maybe Mazda.

Best car I have ever owned - 1996 Honda Accord
By mustangkrs - January 8 - 2:00 amThis is the best car I have ever owned. I have had the car almost two years now, bought it to replace the one my girlfriend totalled. I love it. I even convinced my mom to buy a new one. No problems, drives great, always reliable.

No more Honda loyalty. - 1996 Honda Accord
By Czar - January 8 - 2:00 amThere was a recall on the engine but I caught it before the recall. Messy. Jammed door lock because of bad actuator (250.00). Front driver window worn out and jammed (250.00). The 1st recall I got was about the electrical wire harness. Also caught it before the recall. Sigh. Two months ago, the engine leaked oil (400.00). The gasket needed to be replaced. I needed to pay first for the two recalls but reimbursed later. Hassle. The 2nd recall fiasco cost 800.00 because the timing belt was damaged ...

sporty wagon reliable - 1991 Honda Accord
By byrofree - January 7 - 2:00 amGreat car for price, mine has over 180000 miles and the engine and transmission are strong. Installed cold air filter helped increase top end power. Regular maintenance-and worn parts, but car overall is strong and reliable. ALWAYS replace main relay switch as these go bad in hot humid weather.

Indestructible - 1991 Honda Accord
By Joshua Herod - January 7 - 2:00 amMy Honda Accord is the most reliable, indestructible vehicle Ive ever owned. Ive been through 3 moderately serious accidents, and yet it continues to run like the day I first got it. With over 261K miles on the original engine, its hard to deny the fact that Hondas are one of the most reliable vehicles out there. Even with the high miles, the engine still has really good power for a four- cylinder. I have an automatic, and its geared exceptionally well.

A good car, except - 2005 Honda Accord
By Cyrus Griffin - January 6 - 11:23 amHonda has always built good cars. And this Accord is no different. Except the mileage rating on the hybrid accord is way out of balance with the actual. The best I have been able to attain, with careful driving, is 7 to 10 miles per gallon less than advertised. For a major car manufacturer of hybrids this is very bad.

The First Honda - 2005 Honda Accord
By BOH - January 3 - 8:33 pmJust purchased the vehicle and decided to break it fast (fast at startups, etc.)in order to get a faster car. It worked fine with all the Toyotas I owned, and appears to do the same with this one. This is contrary to what is being recommended by Honda, s-l-o-w starts and no acceleration the first few hundred miles. I like the the stiff suspension and very tight steering feel. The car came with 27 lbs. of pressure in the Michelins, which was raised to 32 and 30 respectively to improve the handling. Pretty solid all around handling car. Time will tell if I decide to keep it for a longer haul.

great affordable wagon - 1995 Honda Accord
By mtbeech - January 3 - 2:00 amThis car has been an excellent vehicle, the only reason for upgrading this vehicle is to get the new off set collision safety after 1997. Also side-airbag safety in newer vehicles. this car is great for hauling items, since the seats fold down for easy access. the car is more suitable for women drivers or people under 510. Visablility is great and this is a very reliable and affordable car to keep.

Major Brake Issues - 2009 Honda Accord
By Sammy - January 2 - 10:43 pmMy fiance and I purchased an 09 EX 4 Cyl. without navigation in Sept. 2008. The car rides great and is fun to drive. The gas mileage is terrific. Honda has refused to address a major brake issue as of yet. We have already had to spend nearly $200 for new rear brake pads in 16 months. Brake pads should not wear out that quickly. Honda has had many complaints and the web is filled with comments on the issue. Lets hope Honda does the right thing.
