Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • The CVT Transmission Is Garbage - 2013 Honda Accord
    By -

The car is typical decent Honda, except for 2 things: 1. The radio and speakers are garbage and 2. The CVT transmission is pure garbage. It feels like a little man is in my transmission manually shifting my car for me, but he doesnt know how to shift properly. The CVT transmission violently jerks all the time. Honda really dropped the ball on the CVT transmission.

  • Get one!! - 1990 Honda Accord

I bought this car for work, traveling a mere 20 miles roundtrip each day. What a delight. Everything works on it (air, cruise, speakers, radio, cassette, pw, pl, etc.) and it has 175,000 miles. I replaced the timing belt and springs/struts. It gives me confidence when I here that familiar Honda starter each morning. This thing will go at least another 100k as the engine and transmission are very strong. No more American cars for me. I will probably move to a newer car this year, maybe a 92 or 93. Maintain these cars well and they will go forever.

  • Best Deal and VERY Reliable - 1997 Honda Accord

This car is my moms but Ive prob. driven it more than she has. I have to say that this car is VERY reliable! We havent had to take it in ever since we got it...except this week the brakes started rattling but thats about it. Eventhough we spent a couple hours negotiating the price we ended up getting it at $500 over factory invoice! That was in May of 96...Hondas are the only cars we own at the moment

  • Solid car, solid value - 2002 Honda Accord

Have an 89 Camry with 220,000+ miles thats cost me less than 3 Gs--including brakes and tires--to maintain over 11 years of consistent driving. A tough act to follow. When purchasing a newby I was looking for a dependable car with reasonable gas mileage, crankdown windows, and a manual tranny. Got it in the Honda Accord for less than 13K. Ive put on 18,000+ miles in 8 months w/o incident. Suprisingly large inside and out. Rides quietly and smoothly (no shimmy or pull) at 80+ mph. Excellent no-frills value from someone who believes a car is for transportation only. Would absolutely buy only 2 types of cars in the future, Toyota or Honda.

  • Great Car - 1997 Honda Accord

This is a great car. I have had it for about a year now and there hasnt been any major problems. These cars last for a long time so I guess honda lives up to its name.

  • My Fav Car - 1996 Honda Accord

I bought this car out of college and have had it for 8 years. Every penny Ive put into it has been regular maintenance, not one penny has gone into fixing a problem. Highly recommend this car!!!!

  • 08 EXL Sedan - 2008 Honda Accord

Overall a pretty nice car but has some model consistent issues such as: BAD brake design-very premature wear out (just google it) and overkill on driver seat lumbar even at minimum setting. Also on 4 cyl models flickering head and tail lights whenever a/c compressor engaged. At times (often) automatic shifting is pretty jerky. The brakes and flickering lights are safety issues but to date still no recalls?

  • excellent overall car - 1991 Honda Accord

Ive had this car alittle under 2 months and I love it. I bought it used at 152000 but the previous owners kept it in very good shape. Its extremely driver friendly and very stylish. The stock stereo that came with it was lacking but technology has advanced much with this feature. I got a nicer deck for it and the stock speakers arent bad. I plan on getting aftermarket speakers as well. Overall, this is an excellent car with lots of space for hauling equipment (Im a drummer) and unbelievable gas mileage.

  • Home Run - 2006 Honda Accord

I was a former owner of a 2004 EX V6, which was totaled in February with minimal damage to myself and passengers. I took delivery of my EX-L in March and I can safely say that I will keep this car for at least 7 years. I like the pep of the big 4-cylinder engine, the smooth ride balanced with good handling, upscale interior and exterior, and the steadily improving gas mileage.
