Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Car is extremely reliable. I am 62" and I thought it was more suited for someone that was 59"-60". truck is roomy for this size car and it handles well in the snow. Very good car, we also own a Camry 1998 and I would pick the Honda over the Camry. I believe the Hondas construction is more sound than the Camry, the trim on the Camry seems less refined and much more chinsy.

  • A Marvel called the Accord - 1995 Honda Accord

An excellent car which gives value for money. Extremely reliable, smooth engine. The VTECH engine adds to the fun. Interiors are plush and carefully designed with an eye for detail and comfort. They say that the accord never leaves you stranded. The real test: I have driven this Car from Houston, TX to Ruston, Louisiana a 6 hour non stop drive, in the sweltering summer heat of 2003. The car was extremely dependable and I reached safe and sound. Thats reliability for you.

We really like the handling of the car. It corners very nicely. For a 2 door it is very spacious in the back seat. Plenty of room in the trunk. We took it on a summer trip with our 2 boys and the drive was great. Good gas mileage. Nice features that makes it very comfortable. We love our car.

  • I expected much better - 1993 Honda Accord

I bought this car because of its reputation. I was let down. 75k miles when I got it and the ABS pump was shot. $1300 to replace, no thanks. The counter balance shaft belt broke and now it shakes like crazy at idle. Trans vibrates bad between 35 and 50 mph like its trying to shift but cant. Oil leaking at every possible place. Both interior door hanldes broke. CV joints on both sides went this year. The factory radio was the worst thing Ive ever heard. Now, the engine is very strong and burns no oil. The seats are very comfortable. Everything works inside. The style is the best. Still a great looking car.

The first 1,500 miles have been a lot of fun. I am very pleased with the cornering and superb handling of this car. Initially the dashboard controls were a little intimidating, but it doesnt take long to get comfortable with them. Everything is placed perfectly. Voice commands are logical and easy to remember. Ive been averaging 28 mpg per tank since about 1,000 miles. No problems. Glad I made the right choice.

I cannot say enough good things about this vehicle. You put in the key, turn it, and it always goes. It was perfect for you young family (with dog, A/C in the back for Clipperdog). A bit tight now with teenagers. Incredible realiability, nice styling, still gets 30 mpg highway. Very pleased would buy again.

  • EX-L 6000 miles update (4cyl/5MT) - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

I traded my 1997 Eclipse Spyder GST convertible (turbo 4 cyl/5MT) for an Accord EX-L sedan (4 cyl/5MT) when I turned 60. Aside from missing the turbos acceleration, Ive preferred the Accords better mileage, handling and comfort. I averaged 34-35 mpg after 6000 miles (~90% highway driving). Lowest mpg was 29 mpg (~50% local driving with A/C); highest mpg was 40 mpg (driving 60 mph w/o A/C on Midwest highways). This Accord is the only large car I found with upscale comfort/amenities and a good manual transmission. The manual transmission lets me control the car better and achieve higher mileage.

  • Strong Runner! - 1992 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought my Accord from private seller in October of 1996. For a 4 year old car it had only 44000 miles and it was in priestine condition. From the day I bough it I felt in love. There was nothing that I didt like. Now my Honda has 134000 miles and still runs great, thou I want to sell it and buy a brand new model. And only reasone I am selling it is cause Im bored of this car after eight years of ownership.

  • I would buy another Honda - 1996 Honda Accord

I bought this car new 8 years ago and it has been virtually maintenence free until about 102,000 miles when it developed a major oil leak ( broken seal) but besides that it has only been routine maintenance and it now has 106k miles. It has served our family well!
