Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Hondas Forever - 1999 Honda Accord

We purchased this vehicle when it was 2 years old, with 30,000 miles on it. Right now, we have 60+k miles on it and not a single problem with it. I begin to wonder if the extended warranty (7yr/100kmiles) was a waste of money? We had German cars but this one is by far more luxurious for the price. Also I feel safer driving Honda than VW or BMW.

  • Great Car!!! - 1997 Honda Accord

We wanted a newer Accord but found this 97 with all the bells and whistles, low miles, and a great price. I love the car. Its quick an smooth, and still looks nice. Cant go wrong with a Honda.

  • Finally a used car you can rely on! - 1997 Honda Accord
    By -

My biggest fears about buying a used vehicle were reliability and sturdiness of interior and exterior design. I have to say that my car still looks and drives great. It stands up to harsh road conditions and is not expensive to maintain. I still get between 310 miles and 350 miles to the tank. I would definitely either keep this car for a long time or trade up for a newer Honda Accord model.

  • Quality seems worse than the past - 2010 Honda Accord
    By -

I owned a 1999 Accord LX for 12 years and I like it since it is a very solid car and not much trouble. When it was time to buy a new one, I decided to stick with Accord and I thought it should be a slight upgrade to buy LX-P but I just feel bit disappointed since the engine pick up, gas mileage, interior material quality are worse than the past. The engine is little noise than my old one. However, the car handling is still pretty good. I like the new look and the price. I almost paid the same price what I paid 12 years ago if I stick with the LX basic model. If you consider inflation, it is over 30% cheaper. I think you get what you pay for.

  • New exl-v6 - 2008 Honda Accord

Just got my new Accord EX-l V-6 and love it. Cannot detect any VCM operation which others have reported.

  • Excellent! - 2006 Honda Accord

Fun and classy. Gas mileage on streets is probably about 17-19 mpg, not 21 like the sticker says.

  • Almost Perfect - 2003 Honda Accord
    By -

After driving a Passats (wagon & sedan), Outback, Forrester, Camrys, Lexus RX300, Honda CRV, Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute, the Accord was hands- down the most exciting and enjoyable vehicle we drive. The V6 is incredibly powerful, although, there is a little bit of a lag before it feels like the "afterburners" kick in at mid- speeds. My wife is really in love with this car.

  • Rotten Eggs - 2003 Honda Accord
    By -

This car smells like rotten eggs all the time. Honda corporate denies there is a problem. One service writer at the dealer claimed that Honda knows what the problem is but doesnt want to fix it. She also said that this problem is common on 2003 4 cylinder models. The service manager told me I dont drive it hard enough. All I can say is it makes me sick and Im about to see a doctor and get a lawyer.

  • Reliability - 1998 Honda Accord
    By -

Car is basic, yet dependable and pretty much mechanically sound. Have had for 2.5 yrs and just done oil changes.

  • great commuter - 1992 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought this car because I drive 80 miles every day to work and back and didnt want to depreciate my Z71 or Infiniti. The car had 176,000 miles when I bought it. It had some body damage, but ran like a top. The car now has 189,000 miles and still meets smog standard and gets 29 m.p.g. on an automatic. Honda builds an awesome car!!
