Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Almost... - 2000 Honda Accord

Ive had this car for over a year now and at first I loved it. The longer I drove it the more I noticed one MAJOR flaw, the automatic transmission. The transmission shifts great during steady acceleration but thats all. When coming to a stop the transmission has a long delay before downshifting. When it finally decides to downshift it makes a humming noise, and then slams into gear. This is driving me nuts and the dealer says its normal. Slowing almost to a stop and then step on the gas, you get a few second delay while it looks for the gear it wants, then SLAM it shifts. Now Im stuck making payments on a car I hate. Thank you Honda.

I like everything about this car. Its really easy and fun to drive. Handling is terrific and Im very satisfied with all measures of performance so far. I think the styling is great and Ive received lots of compliments on the appearance. The sound system rocks and the 6-CD changer is great.

Great car! Bought it because we are having our first kid soon. Will make a great family car. Lots of room, drives great. Awesome gas mileage for such a roomy car. Fun to drive.

  • Great choice - 1998 Honda Accord

Overall a great car. Intetior quality is outstanding, and it handles pretty soundly. The engine is quiet, but road noise on the highway is pronounced. The suspension isnt very good on cracked or bumpy pavement, but not as bad as many cars in the class. The seats in front are comfortable, but the rear seats arent on long trips. Fuel economy is very respectable. No major problems as of yet.

  • You say its NOT German? - 2008 Honda Accord

After having driven Mercedes and Audis for the past couple decades, we bought an 08 Accord, and Im here to tell you that this car drives more like a German road car than some German road cars! Ride is very good, but seats are just a little firm. A power passengers seat would be a nice addition. Its larger overall this year, so size-wise compares with an E- Class Mercedes, 5-series BMW, or A6 Audi. Price-wise its HALF the money, with historically outstanding value- retention. Fit & finish are excellent. EPA says 31 mpg highway, and theyre right. Consistent 31 mpg hwy, and up to 34.4 mpg on our last trip.

  • wish i never bought it - 2009 Honda Accord

i bought this honda after all the hype about the need to "get out of american made cars". i had a buick lacrosse that i loved but the gas mileage was beginning to get to me. gas was $4.00 per gallon at the time. i was actually looking for a small suv but my husband talked me out of that. i hate driving this car. rough ride, unbelievable road noise (my dealership told me to turn the radio up! hah!). the seats are the worse!! leather--but the most uncomfortable i have ever owned. long trips are miserable. have taken 2 now and the passenger seat is horrible. my girlfriend sat in the back seat--said it was ok but sure was noisy. i truly wish i had never bought this car.

  • MY TOP CHOICE IS ALWAYS A HONDA - 1995 Honda Accord

I BOUGHT THIS CAR 5 YEARS AGO. IT ALREADY HAD 86,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR HARD AND HAS YET TO GIVE ME ANY PROBLEMS. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CAR TO ANYBODY. IT IS A GREAT DAILY DRIVE AND LOVES THE HIGHWAY.

This car was an excellent choice for me. Being 14 years old it was very reliable and I will always drive a Honda. I have had 8 so far and will continue driving them for the reliability of the car. Thanks!!

  • Great Car - Honda Success - 1997 Honda Accord

We bought our 97 Accord 4DR Special Edition as a Certified lease return when it was 3 years old and had 32,000 miles. Though it was used when we bought it, it seemed like a new car. The ride is very stable and quiet. Fuel mileage is excellent. Features include CD player, sunroof, security system, woodgrain accents, alloy wheels and all power accessories. The seats are very comfortable, and it is easy to sit for hours. Our only problem is a creaking noise infrequently from front left suspension. The engine could have more passing power, but we benefit from the great gas mileage. Honda is a winner and we love their cars!
