Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Could do better - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

I have owned several Accords, the most recent one being a 2005 EX V6. We never had any problems with that car. I wish I had never traded. This new car has many neat features, such as the NAV and the variable cylinder management, but the build quality has me regretting my purchase. There are many rattles and squeaks,(the front end even rattles when you shut the door). But, the most annoying problem is a wind noise above 55mph. I get mad thinking about it and avoid driving it for that reason. Should have bought a Cadillac CTS.

I am a junior in college and my parents bought this car in 2002 as a high school graduation present. I LUV my car! I will drive this car until it wont move and the way it runs at 123,000 miles, that may be a long time from now. It gets regular services and the only thing extra Ive had to do was to replace a CV axle last year. It cost about five hundred dollars and on average, including services, i spend about $600 a year on upkeep. Better than $600/month on a piece of junk. Dont sit there, go buy one now!

  • My Honda - 1997 Honda Accord

Overall this has been a reliable yet sporty car. Problems: engine light came on at 60,000 miles, which turned into a faulty chip in the engine (under warranty). Power Windows have stopped working in the past but started again VERY slow. Dashboard light that circles the "D" when in drive has just gone out. No other problems.

  • Name??? - 1996 Honda Accord

A quality vehicle ovrall. No major repairs in the 8 yrs that we have owned it. All regular required maintenance was done and the car has operated to our greatest expectations. It has not once failed us. It was our second Honda, the first being a 1986 which we had for 10 years. Our third will no doubt also be a Honda.

I have owned Honda vehicles for some 20 years. I have had very few issues which would make me consider changing brands. The only issue I consistently had to address is the air conditioner compresor failures which required an approximate $1000 replacement cost. My 1993 Accord LX has had 3 replacements since I purchased the car.

  • Honda will not fix sulfur smell - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

I purchased a Honda Accord LX from Marty Sussman Honda on 3/15/2004. From the very beginning there was a rotten egg smell that would permeate the entire interior of the car. The dealer acknowledges that it smells. Honda actually has a pre-printed paper stating that the smell comes from too much sulfur in the gas. Honda claims the car is "operating according to specifications".Why would you design a car to run on lower sulfur fuel when there is no low sulfur gas suppliers outside of California.I asked where can I get the right gas and they did not know. Honda denied any responsibility so I contacted a lemon law lawyer that said Im not the only case that they have handled with this problem.

  • I love it but beware - 1999 Honda Accord

I absolutely love this car. Only problem is that I have been experiencing transmission problems since about 2.5 years ago, but it was just minor (or so I thought) rough shifting. I took it in and was told that everything looked ok. Just this past weekend the transmission failed on me at 91K. After doing research I found out that this is a known issue and a recall has been issued for the 2000-2001 models. http://www.auto.com/industry/iwirg21_20020921.htm. I am trying to get the dealership to take care of it. Wish me luck.

  • Great Car! - 2005 Honda Accord

I recently purchased the Accord V-6 with leather. I love it. Its comfortable, pleanty of room in the back seats. The stereo system is awesome, it handles well & tons of power!!!!! There are so many neat little features to this car, youll be reading the book alot to find them all. My husband & I actually fight over whos going to drive!!! We researched cars alot & test drove all of them, & this was the BEST car we looked at. I absolutely recommed it.

  • Dont buy a 2008 Honda - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

Have you ever bought a car just because of the name? Well I did and it was the biggest mistake. I am trying to find a dealership that will take it back. For over 25,000 I expected perfection. The sound of the road is so loud that I can barely hear anyone on the phone. The air doesnt blow as cool when I press the gas. I have to open the door wide just to get out of it without hitting side and I am only 115 lbs. The blind spots are out of this world. I am beyond displeased with Honda. Yes, maybe past models were better, but they have truly ruined their brand in my opinion with this car. Yes, it looks great, but that is about it. I should have stayed in my Altima! Take my word...dont buy!!
