Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Built like a tank, handles like a point guard - 2012 Honda Accord
By gioreeko - August 20 - 2:04 pmThis is my 3rd Accord, and just leased it after putting 240,000 miles on my Civic. The Accords are just so solid feeling, feels a lot like my old BMW 5 series. The seats are really supportive and comfortable, so dont go by the few negative reviews, some people carry some extra weight, and no seat feels comfortable. Good power from the 190hp engine, yet gets really good gas mileage. Cant go wrong with Honda.

Most reliable car I have owned - 2006 Honda Accord
By sublimefan661 - August 19 - 11:12 pmI bought this car brand new from the dealership with 7 miles on her. Its now been 6 years, 80k miles later and she still drives the same as she did when i first got her from the dealership. No major work done except oil changes, battery once, all four tires twice, front brakes once, air filter and just passed smog with flying colors. Im going to keep driving this thing till the engine blows up.

Dis. Like. - 2009 Honda Accord
By moitz - August 17 - 3:27 pmThis is my fourth Honda, and the first one I dislike. Its overly large, poorly built, and does not live up to Hondas legendary reliability and build quality. The exterior is not unpleasant to look at, and with the EX V6, the sunroof, chrome trim, and rims dont detract. However, the interior is way too heavy on plasticy bits, the carpet feels cheap, and things rattle like a 1990s GM product. Too many buttons, etc. Performance-wise, the auto transmission is atrocious. Ive taken to manually shifting it when I need to get into 1st in a hurry. The gas mileage is awful (17 on a 70/30 city highway split, maybe 25 on the highway). However, the engine is smooth and powerful.

Five Hondas - All Problems - 2000 Honda Accord
By redgemon - August 15 - 1:28 pmUnfortunaetely it has taken the purchase of four Honda Accords and one Civic to finally get me to decide to not buy Hondas any more. All of the Accords (years 1968, 1988, 1990 and 2000) have had major problems, and the Civic nickled and dimed me to death. My current 2000 Accord V6 developed transmission problems within one week after purchase. I did not buy the extended warranty because it took every penny I had to buy the car. The Honda Dealership I bought it from said theres nothing they can do because I bought the car "As Is." Now, I cant drive it, and need to save over $2000 to have the transmission rebuilt. I know some have great Honda stories, but mine are nightmares.

Long-term relationship! - 2005 Honda Accord
By sullins - August 13 - 10:27 pmThis is the first car I ever bought brand new. I wanted to wait a year or so before I posted a review and wow does time fly! Seven years later I am proud to say I still own this car and it will hit 232,000 miles on my drive to work tomorrow. This has been an incredibly reliable car. Outside of the usual maintenance such as tires, oil changes and brakes, I have replaced nothing more than batteries (think I have bought two) and light bulbs...literally. With that said, Im awful on cars. I change the oil about every 10,000 miles & have never done scheduled maintenance (dealership stuff). Still has original timing chain & clutch. As a commuter, this has been the best car I could have bought!

The Biggest Mistake of my Life - 2008 Honda Accord
By mostinfamous3 - August 12 - 7:50 pmI brought this car Oct 07 brand new with 28 miles. Today Im sitting in pure frustration as my car now needs a 3rd timing chain replacement and no Honda Tech can expain to me why my car keeps needing timing chains, first it was the rear brake pad issue, then it was the ridiculously small battery issue, this care is a money pit. Ive spent over $3500 this year just to keep transportation to work. This will be my last Honda ever..hate it too, Ive been loyal to Honda since 85

Nice - 2012 Honda Accord
By paguy - August 12 - 7:22 pmI respect Edmunds points on the Sonata and the Optima, but this years Accord is a safe bet. I like the fact that it has been in production for years, and hondas have a good track record. Had an 03 until 130k when its started drinking oil. Drove the others, but bottom line I got a super car...got 7 accessories thrown in like ambient lighting, splash guards et al to make a base line really nice. I have always liked honda service as well. the 2012 may be one to scoop up before they change them for 13. My 2 cents, good luck.

Good quality, so so interior...love the manual - 2012 Honda Accord
By pmm21 - August 10 - 1:35 pmSince most cars in this size and price range are automatics and I wanted a manual, this was the car. The seats arent too great though and it lacks basic options that most LX sedans would have like outside temp and gas mileage reading and maybe auto headlight settings. The manual is smooth as silk although the acceleration is poor. Once you are up and running on the the highway, the car performs nicely and handles good overall. I leased it and its a good value so I may buy at the end of lease and sell on my own to make some money. Its not a keeper but good enough for now with Honda reliablility.

Shocked that I HATE this car - 2009 Honda Accord
By jrs4682 - August 6 - 11:08 amThis is my 2nd Accord and I hate it. I have replaced all 4 door locks, the lumbar control in the drivers seat, Airbag sensors. The seats are so uncomfortable, I cant drive more than 30 minutes without being in pain. I get car sick when I am riding in the passenger seat due to the road noise and feeling every bump. I have NEVER had a problem with my other Accords only this one but overall I am not happy with this purchase at all and I will be trading in ASAP.
