Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Great but too large - 1999 Honda Accord
By Ysette - November 6 - 1:11 pmI bought this car used after my grandfather died. I would have never chosen a car this large, but in whole I am quite pleased with it. It is very well- built. Everything is solid and it rides well. It gives the driven a firm feel for the road which is important. The leather seats, while too large for me, are well-supporting and easily adjustable. The five-speed transmission shifts smoothly and offers a lot of fun acceleration. The air conditioning works well and doesnt draw too much power from the engine. The fuel economy, while not that of a Civic, is very respectible (~30 mi/gal for my driving). The especially enjoy the sunroof which is automatic.

Reliable!! - 2006 Honda Accord
By Cody - November 6 - 12:17 am197,000 miles and still going strong. Have not done a single thing to this ride other than scheduled maintanance. No leaks. It burns a small amount of oil but its almost unnoticeable. Its smooth and spacious. Mpg is better than my 2002 civic. I can get 35+ with cruise control. If you maintain these they will go forever. Have full intentions on another 200,000 miles

Clockwork. - 1991 Honda Accord
By NCSUfan17 - November 4 - 8:22 pmAmazingly competent and RELIABLE ride. I purchased this car with 155,000 miles on the clock. Its now sitting on 185K, no major repairs whatsoever, still in excellent shape except for needing a motor mount (not so bad at 185K miles) and faded paint (13 years of non-garaged life take their toll). This car has been great to us, amazingly reliable, engine still pulls strong and transmission shifts smoothly. Decently fun to drive, comfortable, nice steering and handling, handsome if somewhat boring exterior. Great car, no regrets whatsoever. See you at 250,000!

I like it so far... - 2000 Honda Accord
By Superman3 - November 3 - 10:00 amI bought my Accord about 3 weeks ago and it seems to be a great car. I have read many positive reviews on the car and they all seem to be holding true so far. The only bad thing I noticed is the paint is very touchy to pretty much anything. But overall, I would highly recommend this car to anyone shopping.

Solid choice - 2007 Honda Accord
By DRich - November 3 - 6:53 amI dont think you can go wrong with this car. Although the V-6 offers plenty of power, this is not a sport sedan. It is a great family car at a very fair price. Hopefully some day the American companies will be able to build something this solid.

Too Many Times In The Shop! - 1997 Honda Accord
By SweetTee - November 3 - 2:00 amI had this car for two years and I constantly had this car in and out the shop getting minor things fixed on it. I had brakes and rotors put on the car 3 times ( I have a heavy foot) but Im fine with that. I brought the car when it only had 77,000 miles on it. I had water pump, timing belt, temperature gauge, lower ball point replace on both sides and CV boot, alternator and now I need to replace one of my ABS speed sensors and the engine light is on and I dont know whats wrong with the car. I take very good care of my car dont get me wrong. Sometimes I just want to get rid of it. As of right now it has 150,000 miles on it.

Old but still going - 1990 Honda Accord
By ADS 1 - November 3 - 2:00 amPurchased with 150000 km 7 years ago. Just passed the 304000 km mark. Repair frequency increasing over the last year, but understandable given age and mileage. The engine and transmission have not been touched beyond seal replacement. This old horse just keeps on going. I will never buy anything but a Honda product - now own 3 of them!

Honda is really over rated - 2005 Honda Accord
By T.C. - November 3 - 1:33 amMy 2005 Honda Accord DX was a piece of junk. The car is really over rated. First of all the transmission went out at 7000 miles Luckily it was under warranty. Then at 10000 miles a cylinder went out so I was riding around with a 3 cylinder. Then at 11500 miles the A/C went out. I bought this car for my bussiness car because I had read and heard that an Accord was the best car out there so I believed and bought one, but that was a mistake as you have been reading. So at 15,000 miles another cylinder went out and Honda replaced that for me, At 25,000 miles I finally realized this was a mistake and traded the car in on a 05 Mercury Sable

Great value and fun to drive! - 2008 Honda Accord
By EXLV6Coupe - November 2 - 1:06 pmPicked up slightly used Nighthawk Black V6 coupe a couple of weeks ago. So far has been great. Excellent pickup and great interior. Definitely a great buy for the price. Honda has really improved the exterior styling from the outgoing coupe. Might not be as aggressive looking as a 3-series, but definitely gets head turning. Ample room for someone that is 62", and extremely comfortable for my daily commute (75 miles round trip). Excellent ergonomics and attention to detail. Most of the interior layout has been carefully thought out. Great car!

LOve my Accord!! - 2004 Honda Accord
By Jim - November 2 - 5:52 amIve owned this car from new. Over 11 years and 165k miles later and it runs and drives great! I maintain the fluids myself and have done a few brake jobs. Im amazed at how well the car has aged, and now understand first hand, "brand loyalty". I would buy another Accord in a heartbeat and am eyeing the tenth generation as a replacement, but only, ONLY if Honda still offers a manual transmission. The MT in this car is superb for the price point and has been flawless. The 2.4 I4 engine is also a gem. It is extraordinary how well this car has been engineered, the powertrain, the steering, the interior layout and controls, the comfort of the seats are all exemplary. Everything works together seamlessly, and I still very much enjoy driving it. One negative is that the paint is rather weak and I have had to fix a few minor rust bubbles on the fenders and one on the hood. This despite regular washes, including rinsing the undercarriage and wheelwells, and waxes. There are no major rust issues. Another annoyance is that while the HVAC is generally good, the floor vents are some of the weakest I have experienced. I want my feet warm during the Wintertime while still breathing cooler air. For some reason heat is not directed fully to the feet but seems to come more out of the top vents. One other is that the engine, "clacks" in colder weather when started. My understanding is that this is piston slap. While it does not seem to affect long term reliability of the engine it is nonetheless disconcerting, but I have become used to it. Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase, and look forward to a new Accord in the future if Honda continues to manufacture benchmark vehicles and only if they still offer a manual transmission.
