This Year's Model Updates:

As the model was fully redesigned for the 2003 model year, there are only a few changes on the 2004 Honda Accord. Availability of side curtain airbags has been expanded this year to four-cylinder EX models -- standard on those with leather, optional on cars with a cloth interior. All four- and six-cylinder EX models equipped with a leather interior now have XM Satellite Radio with three months of free service as standard equipment. And as with all Honda cars this year, a new seatbelt reminder system is standard. Accord models meeting California's stringent Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) standards -- all four-cylinder sedans equipped with automatic transmission -- will also be sold in the states of New York, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.

Pros:
  • Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined and powerful engines, reputation for quality and durability, high crash test scores.
Cons:

  • Plenty of "car" for price paid - 2004 Honda Accord

I bought this vehicle from a used car lot, and was literally "sold" a few hours after first seeing it. The exterior is very attractive (except for a few dents left by the original owner!). The engine is efficient--you can ride comfortably without using "high gear." Happy with the car so far (23.5k right now, with 20k/year expected).

  • love the car .but........... - 2004 Honda Accord

ive had this car for just about a year. overall," I love it." its quick it has beautiful interior its roomy and fun to drive! But the seat is too hard!!! I thought it would soften with time but it really hasnt. Also, the radio could be a little LOUDER!!!! And for the money i paid for it it should have heated mirrors and a better rear view mirror!!!

  • Very impressive - 2004 Honda Accord

Very impressive for the money. This is a car that has it all, except for the seat memory and auto headlights. But for 27K and compared to the rest of the feild.....NO COMPARISON.

  • Great Car - 2004 Honda Accord

I had to buy the car after extensive research of the competitors in this class. I just could not find a comparable car for the same price when taking into account the total package of power, interior features, reliability and safety ratings, gas mileage, great engine and use of regular unleaded fuel. The 2004 Accord is an immense improvement over the 1994 Accord which I felt was a great car.

  • 2004 Accord EX 4DR w/Leather - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought my new Accord EX 4DR with (heated!) leather seats the Saturday after Thanksgiving (2003). I was out of town for the long weekend, visiting with family, and decided it was a good time to buy a new car. The 240 miles Ive already put on the Accord have been fun. I was driving a 95 Civic before, and will probably drive this car for 8-10 years, so I wanted to go all out and get the best car I could for the money. Heated leather seats, dual climate control, side (curtain) airbags, AM/FM/XM radio (XM is free for 3 months, $10/month thereafter)in-dash 6 CD player, 16 inch alloy wheels... I could go on and on. Its a great car!

  • Love it so far - 2004 Honda Accord

Had been looking for a new car for quite awhile. Would have prefered an Altima. Tried out the Passat as well. Drove them all on Highway where I usually do most of my driving. The Accord is quie and responsive. I average around 31 mpg. One big advantage over the Passat is that Accord uses regular gas. The 5 speed is a dream to shift, tight and smooth. Ergonomics are well thought out. Car is quite a bit noisier over concrete pavement. This is probably a function of the tires they chose, Michelin Energy MXV4. The Bridgestone Turanza used on the coupe are a better performing and quieter tire.

  • This car is perfect - 2004 Honda Accord

I purchased a new 1986 Honda Accord DX in 1986. That car was with me through thick and thin. My new car is quite a step up. But the old cars reliability allowed for a big down payment on the new car. I test drove a BMW 325i, Infiniti G35 and Acura TL. The 2004 Honda Accord that I purchased proved to be the best buy for the money. A 240 horsepower engine that runs on regular gas sealed the deal for me. I would have liked the Acura but the Honda is the next best thing. I drive it daily and love the XM radio and Navigation. Voice recognition makes quit an impression on passengers. Leather seats are comfortable. The back seat space allows for maximum comfort rear seat passengers.

  • great car - 2004 Honda Accord

Before purchasing this car I test drove a 2004 Subaru WRX and a 2004 Nissan Maxima (cars in the price range I was looking for). This is my first Honda and so far I love it. The WRX and Maxima were nowhere near as comfortable as the Accord. I am 60 210 lbs and I feel right at home in this car. Style, speed, and comfort are well balanced.

  • Very Happy with my 2003 Honda - 2004 Honda Accord

Glad I bought one. Nice ride and very sleek looking. Great performance also.Just a smart buy for anyone looking for a well built car.

  • What comfort in owning a Honda? - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

The ride of this Honda reminds me of the 1968 MGB I had years ago. Choppy, bumpy, feeling every jolt in the road and giving me a headache after an extended period of driving. I know its almost sacrilegious to say anything negative about a Honda, but the ride is inexcusable. My wifes CRV has a much smoother ride. Everything else seems fine, but every time I drive this car I can only think about trading it in for something different.
