Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Great car - 2005 Honda Accord
By Honda Owner - July 20 - 8:23 pmParticularly impressed by the super smooth transmission. Never missed any forward gear. Gives good gas mileage with aggressive city driving ~25 mpg. Has a well designed interior - everything seems to be in place where you would want it to be. I like the sound system a lot. The center console display gives the car a good interior look. Has some noticeable road noise on the highway, but not enough to decide against buying this car. Except some trouble shifting into reverse gear at times (this is a manual), I have had no problems with this car. It is a year old and has 19K miles on it.

Replacement Vehicle - 1999 Honda Accord
By Debbi - July 20 - 11:48 amHavent owned the car all that long but needed a replacement after an accident. The price was right and the maintenance was well recorded. I was impressed with the condition and how well it ran. I was concerned with the mileage but everyone and my research told me I would be fine. So far Im very happy. I find it to be reliable, its gone on road trips and gets great gas mileage. The tranny slips when cold but was also told thats a Honda thing, so u will be keeping an eye on it. For the year it was pretty fancy with extras back in its day. I am happy to be driving it around and feel really good about my purchase.

I Did Buy Two! - 2008 Honda Accord
By Snake - July 20 - 6:56 amYup! I couldnt resist so we just picked up my, I repeat my, Accord this week. Even with all my previous complaining I added the Navigation option and I have to say it is very nice, but still overpriced. The Accord has a tremendous environment. I purposely take the long way to destinations. I notice that I now drive with a big smile on my face. What a car! I did test drive the coupe and found it too confining due to an almost 2" difference in headroom. I did not like the interior door moldings that covered the door controls. All in all, per Hondas website, the sedan has 19 advantages over the coupe so my decision was a no-brainer and I have never regretted my decision.

Naysayers are right - 2004 Honda Accord
By JR - July 19 - 2:13 amI am here to agree with the naysayers. There are build and quality control issues with the 7th generation Honda Accord. I own a 2004 EX with 1700 miles on it. Ever had a mosquito buzz in your ear? No? Drive my car awhile and youll get the idea. Creaks and rattles from the driver window, front windsheild, and center vents. Sound annoying? It is, making an otherwise solid car feel cheap. Yes, the ergonomics are great. Yes, the 4cyl is smooth. Yes, it handles capably. But whats the point when you cant enjoy the ride? When upon leaving the car you twitch with frustration?

Long Term Tested - 2008 Honda Accord
By SJP - July 16 - 2:50 amI am an avid car lover. Been researching cars for over 30-yrs. I did my homework before buying this car. Looked at everything: Camry, Altima, TSX, etc. This was the best value for the money, and thought that Hondas known reliability and resale would be a benefit. Went with the top- of-the line L, paid just under 30K. After over 30K miles not so pleased with my purchase. Brakes are the worst of any car I have owned, undersized and prone to excessive wear. Had to bring back to dealer for new Routers at 10K. Check engine light has come on twice already, each time resulting in a major repair. Fuel economy in the V- 6 is nowhere near the estimate on the sticker. Getting only 22 mpg. on average.

Not the most reliable... - 2001 Honda Accord
By chig - July 15 - 2:20 amBought a Honda due to excellent ratings and their reliability that you hear so much about. Had two expensive repairs. Had to have the tranmission replaced with low mileage. Honda covered and extended warranty to 100k. Also had a rear main seal that needed repaired with around 50k mileage. Honda refused to admit is was faulty design/workmanship even though all independent sources indicated otherwise. On the 2001 LX model, dont believe the hype that this car is the most reliable out there.

Perfect car in every sense of the word - 1994 Honda Accord
By Liz - July 14 - 12:45 pmI bought this car in August of last year with 135k. Ive had some problems out of it (clutch repair, timing belt, oil gasket leak), but nothing unexpected of an 11 year old car. The car is absolutely the most fun car Ive ever driven. I have the 4 cyl with a manual tranny, and its got some serious pickup. I find myself out accelerating a lot of other cars at red lights. THis car is fantastic on long trips (seating is somewhat uncomfortable after a while) and runs so smoothly. The handling alone is worth the buy. Ive had this car on the ice and snow, and its performed beautifully!
