Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • From Dodge to Honda - 2006 Honda Accord

I was a little apprehensive about purchasing my first 4 door car. I love the V-6 the Honda offers...definitely worth the extra money. Smooth ride and handles great. The sunroof is awesome and the 6 disc cd player rocks. I will probably be sticking with the imports for my next purchase.

I sold a 2002 Ford Ranger, still under factory warranty to purchase a nine year old Honda Accord. I didnt see the point in paying so much more for the truck. I absolutely love my Accord. Maybe because Im saving a lot of money on gas and monthly payments, or maybe just because its a great car! When I purchased it, it had just over 100,000 miles and was in near perfect condition. I suspect it will last longer than the Ranger I sold that had 55,000 miles!

  • After 4 Years, Not Impressed - 2010 Honda Accord

I purchased a used 2010 EXL off lease where one would assume minimal issues. I got sucked into "Its a Honda, you wont have to worry about anything!" Needless to say, that was not my experience. In my opinion, the car is unpleasant to drive and very noisy. There is so much wind noise that you cant even use the Bluetooth radio feature because no one can hear you! The stock Michelins were loud and I replaced them with supposedly a more quiet tire and it did little to improve Road noise. The brakes should be recalled. I spent over 1k trying to get them fixed and then finally replaced. Mine rewarped twice before deciding to replace them. Honda could care less about this even though every single owner had the issue. If you buy one of this year model make sure they are fixed. The electronics use a lot of battery. Found this out when I was working in the car on a few occasions. 20 minutes of radio equals not enough power to start the car. Always fun trying to find someone to jump you. The battery tested fine at the dealership. I also had dumb things like 2 door locks that went bad. I couldnt open either passenger door without manually unlocking first. Another stupid thing that went wrong at $200 a piece. To top it all off, Honda didnt manufacture the transmission with a basic filter so it is recommended to change the fluid more often. Every other manufacturer has this, but in their genius engineering, decided to eliminate a basic feature that can avoid costly transmission repairs. The reviews about people losing their transmission are likely due to this. All in all, this car was not worth the money. It is unrefined and not as reliable as their reputation would lead you to believe. There are much nicer cars that can be had for less money.

  • Best Car I Ever Owned too! - 1990 Honda Accord
    By -

Bought the 5-speed from first owner on 2/16, 68.9k miles on it, for $6.5k (down from 7.5) now 133k hard miles, cold starts, short distances, snowbelt. Could afford any new car, but was thinking of going overseas then, and did not want to take depreciation hit. Engine is a jewel, never had ANY problem. Drove cross country, DC to Seattle to Long Beach CA and back to DC, summer 03, few problems, top MPG. (32-36 hwy, at 65-85 mph). Can cruise all day @ 90 mph in utter comfort. Rust behind the rear wheels. Seldom braked down, but parts cost too much (timing belt, brakes, distributor, fuel pump, each $500 or so). Still, best car I ever owned, and low cost, due to rare failures and high quality.

  • Slight disappointment - 2004 Honda Accord

This is my first honda. I bought the car primarily based on Hondas reputation for reliability. Since purchase, I have had one repetitive minor, though very annoying problem. The dashboard creaks and squeaks terribly on bumpy surfaces. I have had it back to the dealer three times, and they have been unable to repair the defect. For a top-of-the line model, I didnt expect this type of situation.

  • Going Japanese - 2006 Honda Accord

I always had Chevy. I was lucky with them, but the prices, the quality are not the same. I love my new Honda. Everything about it. Just have to be careful, because when I look the speed is more than the limit.

  • Best car I have ever owned - 2003 Honda Accord

This is the best car I heve ever owned. Very reliable, tight steering, safe for accidents, smooth fast engine, good gas mileage for 240 horsepower. I drive a unusual amount of miles and it is a pleasure in this car.
