Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Reliable Car - 1999 Honda Accord

I was looking to buy a reliable car. I did my research and the Accord seemed like a good bet. I was right. So far, the only problem Ive had is the alternator went bad. I change the oil every 3K miles and the car performs well. The leather interior is very comfortable. The auto temp air conditioner is great and very cold. Unlike, most cars Ive had, this car hasnt had the "little" problems (interior falling apart) that come with time. Everything is where its supposed to be. The handling could be better, but it is a family sedan after all. Overall, Im very happy with the car.

Great car. Havent had any major probelm with it. Dashboard can be more elegant. Terrible dealer (Lute Riley Honda, Plano, Texas): Sales/maintainance and management.

I am a 16 year old driver, and I have to say that everywhere I go my Accord Coupe turns heads. Honda did a great job of re-designing it. The outside is aggresive looking and sporty, as is the inside with the brushed aluminum. The driving experience is great, and the ride is smooth. Before buying this, I looked at BMWs, the Toyotas, and Nissans. I am completly happy with my purchase, and have not had one single problem. The 4 cyclinder engine is peppy, and when I need to go I can go. Anyone debating about this car should deffinatly purchase it.

  • Car and Driver 10 best for a reason - 2003 Honda Accord

This car is so much fun to drive. The V-6 is electric motor quiet in moderate acceleration, as well as silk smooth. Honda recommends regular gasoline unlike most other competitors. The interior is the best part. The Camry was too boring. The Camry doesnt come close to the Accord in standard features. The Accord doesnt have auto headlights, but it does have a way of doing it. If you leave the headlights on, the car will shut them off 15 seconds after you turn off the car, and leave. Youll have daytime running lamps during the day, and auto headlights at night.

Seat belt hook-up too far back. Very hard to reach. Same with extra compartment by the belt hook-up. Too far back. Cant use it unless the car is stopped. Not a good feature.

My initial drive of this new model surprised me and I purchased it vs the Camry or Altima. I spend 3 hrs a day commuting and the car has been a little disappointing - there is hesitation when I try to accelerate; interior seat bolsters are to high and rub each time we get in and out - will wear out quickly. In cold weather the multiple piece dash layout rattles and creaks for 40 minutes until the interior warms up. Cubic ft of trunk is large but odd interior shape prevents effective use for large luggage pieces. Wipers and window wash are recessed below defroster line and freeze in place with defroster on. This new model is quieter than the old Accord and it does handle well.

  • Now we have numerous complaints about the car. - 2014 Honda Accord
    By -

The car is like a crackerjack box on wheels. Very difficult to enter or exit the car. Very, very poor condition of car for delivery. Delivery condition of car was very dirty. Dealer did not tell us that the car had 85 miles on it intil the paper work was signed. Got rid of the car March 31, 2016. Bought a 2016 Toyota Camry. Did not hesitate to get rid of this vehicle as soon as I could. Again, Very little dealer support from Sunnyside Honda.

After driving only Nissans, I branched out to another dealer, and after much research purchased a Honda Cvic EX, however being almost 6 ft I could not ride very comfortably in that small car, so I called the dealer up (great people) and they were able to get into an Accord LXP which is so much more roomier. The dealer was incredible, and I am a happy first time customer!
