Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • A great first car for teenagers - 2006 Honda Accord

This is my first car that my parents bought for me as a graduation gift. I couldnt be any happier with it! I average around 30 miles per gallon and it only costs around $30 dollars to completely fuel over here in SoCal. The leather still looks very nice after 10 years and the interior has a timeless design. The 4 cylinder engine has just enough pep for most people and the revs sound great at higher RPMs. I do enjoy speed though and wish it had a V6 but Ill just wait for that when I can buy a car on my own. The exterior design is also nice. I still get comments from friends guessing that it looks a few years newer because of its design. I also really enjoy the hydraulic power steering on this car over the new cars that have electronic power steering. Theres much more weight to the wheel when turning and it feels better tuned for a more natural drive. One complaint I have is that there is no AUX input to play music from my Ipod. Come on Honda, you already have a factory radio that is AUX ready! If youre on a budget but want a reliable and somewhat luxurious car, I would definitely look at this and this is 10 years after it was released!

  • A Dream To Drive except for mileage - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my sixth Honda and my fifth new EX-L. I had a 2003 EX-L 4 cylinder so that got a consistent 28-30 mpg in town and over 35mpg on the highway. I drove from Minneapolis to Chicago and still had a titch under a quarter tank of gas left. The 2008 is getting anywhere from 18 to 23 mpg in town (a big difference at $3 per gallon) but Im still seeing about 31 mpg on the highway. The reason? Simple physics. The car is heavier and theres 30 more horses to feed. Still, I think Honda should have considered MPG efficiency although I am a bit spoiled by the 2003. The 2008 is a work of art. Driving is magnificent. The trade-off is a bit lower mileage but still better than most out there.

  • Be careful - 2008 Honda Accord

I only bought this Honda because I heard so many good things about the car. Honestly I did not have any mechanical problems with the vehicle. My opinion about it refers to fun of driving - which does not exist. The car has poor soundproofing, the engine sounds like "a washing machine in the spinning mode". This car does not give me a "sound and a feel" of the car that I am used to. Mileage - also not impressive - all I can get is about 24mpg, far from the 32 mpg you see on the window sticker. I will sell this car very soon.

  • Awesome Honda - 2000 Honda Accord

  • 2006 Accord EX V-6 - 2006 Honda Accord
    By -

Traded in my 2004 Civic EX Coupe for the 2006 Accord EX. This is the nicest car I have ever owned. I am a bit concerned about the current gas mileage because I commute ~110 mi/day in DC traffic but otherwise a wonderful vehicle. My family helped me choose the car so we bought a Sedan. I held out for the V-6, 6- speed manual transmission for some mid- life excitement. The price was $5k below sticker price and below dealer cost so this is definetly a good deal for us. The 6-speed MT takes some getting used to in reference to the 5- speed. Hard to locate middle gears sometimes. Handles well in varied weather and road conditions.

  • Good car - 2001 Honda Accord

I picked the Honda Accord for reliability and safety. The 2001 Accord offers good, but not great mileage. The ride is reasonably smooth and the EX offers 6-CD changer, certainly a plus. Handling on the vehicle is acceptable, but a bit of a dissapointment. Stopping distances seem a little long to me, especially if the anti-locks kick in. Turning isnt as smooth as Id like either. The exterior, as with Hondas offers no excitment, but one cannot complain about top safety ratings and few-- in fact no mechanical problems at 65000 miles.

  • 2.4L Sport - 2013 Honda Accord
    By -

Picked up a 2.4L Sport yesterday. My 6th Honda although I have had many other brands. For once you now get floor mats at n.e.c! No one cries more then Honda when you try to negotiate. Go in and hit them hard and mention you shopped VW. That gets them real active. I got mine for 23,471 with wheel locks. Then they came up with a zero down lease- they pay taxes and tags- great. Car is impressive. Seats now are comfortable and the Sport has the spoiler and dual exhaust and 4 more hp. The engine is smooth as silk. The Insight was coarse compared to this. Finally the road noise is subdued. You do hear a whoosh noise when driving though. Im getting 34-36 mpg highway. Honda has improved!

Bought with 9k miles and now have 25k. Car has been nothing but reliable. People still think it is brand new. Honda service was great on 2nd gear recall issue.
