This Year's Model Updates:

Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

  • Tepid handling, brakes should be more powerful.

  • just driving is fun - 2005 Honda Accord

The Honda Accord is a very easy car to drive. I am a older man and have a gut but the seat allows me to adjust for real comfort. The peppy response is great in traffic and makes you think it is a sports car. My fuel mileage is getting better now that I have 27k plus miles. The built in fuel calculator shows on the road mileage of 28 mpg regularly and when I drive a lot in the city it is usually around 24-25 mpg.

  • Great car, great idea - 2005 Honda Accord

With gas prices rising above $3 we suddenly became more interested in a hybrid, but we didnt want an economy car. We got the graphite pearl and everyone loves that color. I wanted the 2005 because moonroofs always take away head room and at only 6 foot 1 I graze my head on my wifes EX civic all the time. I really like the XM radio and cant believe I lived without it for this long. This car is soooo quiet and drives really smoothly. Now I can drive an economical car in the fast lane while travelling up large hills. My friend next door with a 4 cylinder accord is jealous. We live in southern california and really enjoy the autoroll down windows with the remote on hot august days

Stylish car that is fun to drive. Multiple controls on steering. Roomy interior that is confortable and adjustible to fit people of every size. Reliable service. The V-6 will merge into traffic without the fear of getting ran over.

The best thing about this car is that you dont feel odd. Its invisible: it feels and handles as an ordinary family sedan - you are not aware that it is different. Yet when you need power it does not disapoint. I like that it uses regular gas and that Im getting about 30 miles per gallon average day to day mileage.

  • Excellent vehicle to own - 2005 Honda Accord

I did extensive research on various vehicles and decided to buy a Honda LX V-6 four door sedan. I am impressed with its V-6 performance and gas mileage. I average about 28 MPG city/hwy driving. The instrumentation is top notch and user friendly. The 6 disk in dash CD player is very easy to use and the sound quality is excellent. This is my first Honda acquisition and Im going to enjoy this car for many years to come.

  • New EPA ratings get it right - 2005 Honda Accord

I purchased this car at the end of the 05 model year when my dealer was offering "employee pricing". I considered the hybrid and a new 06 non-hybrid since they were the same price. I gave up the larger wheels, moon roof and revised exterior trim for the promise of better fuel mileage. I felt a bit cheated for the first months until the EPA released its test results from its new (more realistic) testing method. The technology works seamlessly together, with no indication of the battery or 3 cylinder modes engaging/disengaging. The auto stop is the only item that takes a few days to get used to. When you are rolling to a stop the engine shuts off while the car is still moving.

  • What a car - 2005 Honda Accord

Own an 02 Accord which is an outstanding car. Just bought and 05 for my wife and am very impressed on Hondas improvements to an outstanding 02 design. Im a hard grader not believing something can get all "10s" but this car is outstanding. Bigger and quieter engine, better mileage, very comfortable interior, repositioning of gauges and displays which shows they are continually listening to customers driver comments. The XM radio is an outstanding feature. Cant say enough good things about this car. Looked at many competitiors vehicles as we wanted the best value for our money and a car we can continually rely on. This is it. Check out the 05, youll be impressed.

The shift from gas to electric assist is seamless. Initially, its seems strange to pull to a stoplight and the engine shuts-off when you break. As soon as you touch the accelerator, the car takes off like a vehicle with a regular gas engine. The drive is smooth with plenty of power for any condition weve experienced.
