Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

My first Honda was a Civic. Great car! This is my second Honda. Bad! I had to replace the transmission at 90,000 miles, and the catalytic converter also went out around the same time. In speaking with others who own this same car, everyone has had the same bad experience - transmission and catalytic converter. Of course, these problems happen when the car is no longer covered by warranty.

  • Hoping for the Best - 1994 Honda Accord

I purchased this car yesterday (10/7/2005) with the idea that I would drive it for 18 months then turn it over to my son when he turns 16. It has 138k miles on it and the most significant option is anti-lock breaks. The primary body problem is a small rust spot behind the drivers side rear wheel that should be easy to fix. The car looks very nice for being 11 years old. There are no tears in the fabric and the dash is not cracked. The body looks good except for the rust spot. The paint has held up well and is still glossy and the plastic trim has not faded. Car starts and runs well but transmission is a little rough. Pick up is not like my 6 cycl but I did not expect it to be.

  • I love my Accord - 2000 Honda Accord

This is the best car I have ever owned. I purchased the car new with 20 miles on it. Its a 5 speed 4 cylinder so it could use a little more power. But this car has been problem free and has only had the maintenance done at 60,000 and 105,000 miles. Cruising at 108,000 miles to day. :)

  • Great Sedan! - 2005 Honda Accord

Bought the 2005 Honda Accord in Sept. 04 (right after they came out... I think we were the 1st ones to purchase the 05 at the dealership). Went back and forth between the 04 model and the new 05... I dont care much for the new tail lights on the 05, but some of the improvements they made were worth it. Went from a 02 Chevy Tahoe (V8 engine + 4" lift kit - great SUV, but a gas guzzler!).. cut my gas bill in less than half. My commute to work is 65+ miles one way, so it was a no brainer to downsize. The Accord is a super car! Fits our family of 4 (with a car seat) perfectly and I love driving it! Its stylish, powerful, economical and the interior is top notch!

  • Be careful - 2004 Honda Accord

I know Hondas have a great reputation and that is why I bought mine. Great the first year, then the brake system fell apart. I am on my 3rd master cylinder already. Either the dealer mechanics are poorly trained, or there is something seriously wrong with the system itself. After driving for 32 years, and never having replaced a master cylinder, all I can say about Honda is that I am less than impressed.

  • Honda Accord EX-L V6 - 2013 Honda Accord

This is a great looking car, full of performance, and new technology. I havent owned the car a full month yet, but here is my take on it. The CVT transmission takes a bit of getting used to, if you havent owned one. Would like it better if Honda would make it a rear wheel drive. The V6 is great, if you like to get up and go, but the 4-banger is fine for most of us, I have owned 4 previous Hondas, a Prelude, Civic, and two Accord Sedans. Honda makes a dependable car, good gas millage, performance, low road noise, and a good looking car, that plenty of other car companies have tried to copy. Im still getting used to the electronics, a good bit more advanced than previous cars I have owned. I have figured out most everything I need to know, but being close to the age of sixty, I still prefer things simple. Im pretty sure this car is made for younger drivers, but Im still young at heart, and really enjoy driving, and owning this coupe.

  • IM SOLD ON HONDA - 1995 Honda Accord
    By -

Bought LX w/37,000 miles in 4/2005. The prior owners were about 70 years old and traded the 95 in for a 2005. I have 97 Explorer Sport w/SOHC too. My girlfriend has a 89 Accord and it wont die. My LX has a V6... it feels like Im sitting on a magic carpet, smooth ride, lots of power, hard to keep under 60. Expect Ill get my 1st ticket ever for speeding soon ! Only problem was with the SRS system, dealer said on the 95 the SRS system usually needs service and is short lived. Its costly, like $700, but dealer split 50/50 with me under 6 month warranty. But all in all this car is exceptionally designed, and a joy to drive...my Explorer sits alot more these days !

  • Keep shopping - 1999 Honda Accord

I bought a 99 Honda Accord EX V6 Engine, three months ago. When I bought the car it had 64,000 miles. Less than 2 months later the transmission went on me...what a headache when you are 200 miles from home. There has also been several recalls on the vehicles ignition switch. Even after having the ignition completely replaced, my key would get stuck in the ignition...another headache. I brought it back to the dealership 4x for the same problem. Finally, or so I hope, they have pin-pointed that when the tranny was replaced, the gear shifter was not aligned properly (???) which caused the key to get stuck. Lets see what happens. In any event, I am frustrated with all the problems I have.

  • Purchased new in 2001 - 2001 Honda Accord

I like everything about the car except for the fact that for me, too low to the ground. Reliability has been fine thus far, had brake job at 60,000 miles and other than routine maintenance, no problems. Tires need to be replaced in about 1000 miles (630,,,). I do wish the sound /stereo was better but I like the 6 CD in dash. The V6 gives it enough power but I wish it had more. Fuel economy is around 22MPG with most of driving done on hiway
