Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Huge bang for the buck - 2003 Honda Accord
By M-1 - January 1 - 10:00 amI bought my EX V6 sedan in December 2003. Compared with Camry XLE V6, Passat V6 GLX, this was the best combination of features and handling for the price. Previous car was a 1998 Passat, which was excellent and is still running fine after 190K miles. The Honda was larger and more powerful, handling is close to the Passat, and thousands less. This car is so FAST - it always feels like theres more power waiting to be used. I am averaging about 28 MPG in mostly highway driving. I dont really miss the Passat.

First Year Blues - 2003 Honda Accord
By Charles - December 31 - 9:43 amHonda has dropped the ball with regards to build quality on the 2003 Accord Coupe. By all measures, the car should be a joy to drive, but unfortunately it suffers from 1st year engineering and quality failures. Starting at about 5000 miles, squeaks and rattles crept in to destroying any perception of Honda quality. The radio head unit went out and had to be replaced. The ABS quit working and sensors had to be replaced. A surging idle issue rendered the car nearly undriveable. All of this was before it had 30,000 miles on the clock. I bought this car with the hope of keeping it for many years, but Im sad to say that Im fed up. Beware of the 2003 Accord Coupe.

Beware of New Automatic Trans - 2006 Honda Accord
By pc garber - December 31 - 2:33 amI had less than 200 miles before the torque converter went. At 400 miles Honda replaced the transmission. I thought Hondas were supposed to be "bullet-proof".

By AndiKev - December 31 - 1:56 amWe purchased this car a few weeks ago and love it a lot so far. The engine is very quiet and pick up is amazing. We also own a 98 v6 2 door coupe and its also amazing. We took on a 3 year lease and will very possibly end up purchasing this vehicle later after the lease ends.

I have the scoop on Accord vs. Camry - 1999 Honda Accord
By Greg - December 30 - 9:03 pmI have purchased 3 new 4cyl Accords (83,90,99) with absolutely no mechanical problems, we drove the 83 60k miles, the 90 134k miles and the 99 we drove 84k miles. But lets face it...Honda and Toyota know what they are doing. I have also bought 4 New Toyotas. Averaging 100k miles. Neither car is perfect but both do as advertise..reliable, clean lines, great value, good size, good resale, low maint. cost. The 99 accord is great but does have excessive road noise (Camrys are significantly quieter). The 4cyl Accord has plenty of power...I like to zip around and cruise at 75-80mph on I- 5. Anyone that says they need more power must have the thing loaded down and going straight up a steep hill.

They finally got it right! - 2009 Honda Accord
By conquerer77 - December 29 - 12:03 pmI have owned the following: 1994 Accord LX Coupe; 2005 Toyota Camry LE; and now, 2009 Accord LX Sedan with 5-speed manual. My new car was bought after much detailed and painstaking research. Issues with past Accords that kept me away: Road noise, stiffness of ride, high price, arrogant dealerships. I got lucky by finding a good dealer that gave me good value on 05 Camry. Camrys started to have an issue with valves rattling (70K miles!), so I may have had a lemon. It was a refined vehicle, and the ride in my new Honda is a only a touch louder and harsher, . But I get better mileage, more agile, new suspension is wonderful. Close & tough choice, but made best decision. Looks more masculine !

Hybrid Accord w/ Navigation - 2006 Honda Accord
By wgrant94 - December 28 - 4:50 pmDelighted with the mileage. We got 38 mpg on a trip to Atlanta. My wife loves the mileage and I love the performance. One car magazine reviewer said that the Hybrid was like a pouring a can of nitrous in the fuel; instant torque and acceleration. While it may not be as quick as our Acura TL-S - it feels like it is. Instant response, great mileage, and reliable whats not to love?

1998 better than 2015 - 2015 Honda Accord
By Don-Omaha,Ne - December 28 - 11:28 amDo not like the headlights on low beam that sharply cutoff the top of light beam and reduce visibility, this is especially bad when going downhill and then the road rises quickly. You cannot see the roadway ahead. My 1998 Honda Accord had a much better ride. The 2015 Accord ride is jarring, stiff and transmits every small bump to the passengers. I have had small sport cars that have had a more pleasant ride. Lumber wagon is the best way to describe the ride. The heater controls and radio controls are needlessly complicated. Where one knob could control the heater, there are three! On/Off, Speed Up, Speed Down. Each is distracting, you have to take your eyes off the road to use/find them. It is a safety hazard just as bad as someone texting while driving. Knobs are easy to use, and do not require that you take your eyes off the road to use them. The radio also, has too many buttons, where one multi-function knob would do. My 1998 Accord had a multi-level center console, which made holding small items convenient, and a soft-touch cover over the cup holders, which made for a more tidy appearance. Also, the courtesy/safety lights on all the four doors that were on the 1998 Accord, were not on this higher priced version, even though there are cutouts on the doors where they were intended to be placed. Road noise is still a problem for Honda to solve. I once owned a 1986 Toyota Cambry, and it was way more quiet than this 2015, or even the 1998. Also, one last item: Honda has to do something about the car colors they offer! Boring is and understatement. Look at the Ford red, and then at the pathetic, washed out red?? offered by Honda. Limited interior color choices and the sad attempt to suggest woodgrain accents on the dash, with only dull black plastic, dose not carry the image of even pretend luxury, for cars that can cost up $38,000+. Doubt if I would buy another Accord.
