This Year's Model Updates:

Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

Cons:
  • Tepid handling, brakes should be more powerful.

  • Finest Car I have ever owned - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

Interior is top notch, everything easy to reach and operate. Leather heated seats are terrific. Moonroof is great and have had no problems in the 2 months I have owned it. Contrary to what many people report about EPA rating, I am averaging 35 MPG on the highway, 27 in the city. Very impressed. Sound system is also excellent. Very roomy. Superior handling characteristics. Love styling of rear end 03-05 models. The 06 rear end looks like everything else on the road from a Ford 500 to Impala/G6/Lacrosse and Camry. Would highly recommend an Accord to anyone. Fit and finish are flawless on mine. Car is Black with Tan interior & spoiler. Gets LOTS of Looks & thumbs up.

Just picked up my Accord yesterday and I am very happy with my choice. I had owned a Subaru WRX and was going to get another Subaru, but for the value, features, performance and reliability, you just cant beat the Accord. I got a great deal on an 05 with nav (it was the last one at this particular dealership) and it was a great snag. Ill miss the AWD of the Subaru but Im glad I chose the V6 over the turbo 4.

  • First Accord Hybrid in Canada - 2005 Honda Accord

Dealer says I bought the 1st of this model in Canada. My purchase was for ethical reasons - concern for the environment. It gets about 9 km per 100 litres for city driving and about 6.5 km per litre on highway: about 850 km per tank. Promo said potential is 1000 km per tank. Empty tank takes ~ 54 litres (tho specs indicate it is larger.) Dashboard indicators help me drive in a way that conserves fuel. But, when I need power, it is THERE - LOVE it! (When I do not drive in the "eco" zone, my gas mileage goes up, of course.) My primary critique is that this technology was put only into a luxury model. I do not normally purchase leather, seat warmers, 6-CD changer, etc.

  • I Love It - 2005 Honda Accord

This is the greatest car. I had never owned a Honda before, and feel like I now have one of the best cars in its class. My gas mileage is much higher than estimated, and the 4 cylinder has all the power I need, with smooth gear changing, great comfort. I have seen reviews complaining of road noise, but I dont notice it. In fact, my car seems amazingly quiet on the road. I listen to CDs with ease, unhinderred by supposed road noise. In addition, I am not nearly as tired after a trip. I feel this is truly a quality car and I am pleased to own a Honda Accord.

  • The best car that I ever purchased. - 2005 Honda Accord

Ive purchased four hondas prior to buying the Accord EXL, and each one had there own special touch to them. But what makes the Accord EXL unique is when I take a road trip. There is nothing like it, I mean its like youre dreaming. You cant feel the road or hear the vehicle when its going down the highway. Thank God for XM radio, because it makes all the difference when you cant decide which CD to listen to.

  • As Expected - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

Ive put 9000 miles on my Accord so far, and it has been exactly what I expected. Many of these reviews have talked about the mileage, Im not sure what they expected from a car with 250+ HP. I get 22-27 in the city depending on traffic and season. I take frequent long road trips and drive about 70 MPH on average, and get about 35 MPG...if I drove 60 Id probably be closer to 40 MPG. When I drive the car I feel like I am driving a well built quality machine. The sound system is very good. Bottom line is you get reliablity, comfort, and muscle, while getting better than average MPG, esp compared to other cars with this much HP.

THIS CAR IS AWESOME....YOU GOTTA GET IT....Dont waste ur money on that american auto crap...its all about teh japaneese reliablity and quality....this car is real quick too...i took it out on teh road with a stop watch...0-60 mph is exactly 6.0 secs, real nice for the v6...ACCORD!!!!

  • I like it a lot - 2005 Honda Accord

I was actually in the market for a Mazda3, but the Mazda dealerships must think that they have a gold mine because they were not giving me anywhere near my trade-in value that Honda gave me (Almost $3000 more)! I wasnt even considering the Honda until my wife told me how much she enjoyed hers from a few years back so I figured Id take one out for a spin. Boy was I surprised! The car was a lot peppier than the Mazda3 and I liked the feel of the cockpit much better. I actually drove the V6 auto, but I like the 4cyl 5 spd much better. The shifts are smooth and the engine just keeps climbing. All in all, this is a great little car and I am very happy with it!

  • Found The Best Kahhh!!!! - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

Wohhhh WEhhh, found the best kah!!! I used to have a honda civic and a honda integra overseas. I love them both but I think I need a bigger kahh this time. Everytime i drive the car is like a feeling of satisfaction and peace of mind... everybody, you know what i mean, dont get me wrong, domestic cars are good but nahh, there just too many of them in the side of the freeway that needs towing......love everything about this car, inside has got a lot of leg space, outside is conservatively MACHO...and the best is that everybody looks at me ,opps sorry!!! at my car at the stop light.

  • Great Car! - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

I love this car! I wanted a comfortable commuter and looked at the Lexus ES330 and the new Avalon. When I finally chose the Honda I felt like I compromised, but realize I got everything I wanted. The styling is okay, but it is silky smooth and the build quality is exceptional. I almost boght the 4 cyl and am glad I opted for the V6. The power available is terrific and it makes it more fun for me. If waivering between the two, definitely go with the V6. It has made all the difference in my outlook after commuting 1 hr each way into/out of DC. The favorite car to drive in the family - no question (over 05 Highlander limited, 98 Jetta & 93 Toyota p/u)
