Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Great Car except for One Thing - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

I loved this car when I took it for a test drive. I was a Toyota fan for years, but this time Honda won me over. My decision came down to the Camry or Accord. I decided to go for the car with more pep (Accord) rather than the one with the smoother and quieter ride (Camry). I thought I could just turn up the stereo to drown out the Accords notorious road noise. Boy was I wrong. The premium sound system is below par any other standard sound systems Ive had in any of my previous low end models (various makes). I took the car back to the dealership and was told there was nothing that could be done, this was the premium system and there are no upgrades available.

Glad I purchased! Clean smooth feel for my commuter vehicle.

  • Serious Transmission Problems - 1998 Honda Accord
    By -

I have always been a Honda lover. However, with only 2 more car payments to go, the transmission began to slip severely, with only 70,000 miles. The problem only occurred when starting the car cold. After the engine warmed up, the transmission ran like a new car. The car is currently at the dealership, and they rebuilt the transmission which did not correct the problem. The 2000+ Accords had a cold- start transmission problem, and Honda offered extended transmission warranties, but this does not apply to my 98. I am very surprised and disappointed. I plan to get rid of the car as soon as the Honda dealership can figure out how to fix it!

  • My first Honda, IM IMPRESSED! - 2003 Honda Accord
    By -

I have never researched a auto purchase as much as I did this one. Im totally happy with my decision! I cant wait to get behind the wheel. Im a realtor and spend alot of time in my car. The navigation system is incredible. All the realtors in my office want one. It is worth the extra money. I wanted the V-6, but after driving the 4, I couldnt see spending the extra money. The performance is excellent and gas mileage great. I surely would buy another Accord!

  • Excellent Car!!! - 2003 Honda Accord

Got a lot of compliments for both interior and exterior design. Quiet, smooth ride, and solid. Excellent performance. Compared with Camry 2003 Camry looked very conservative. But Accord has a sleek design. Had civic hatchback 1993. It was very good car-- smooth drive, solid and quiet. Very impressive with Honda.

  • Old Faithful - 1994 Honda Accord

My Accord is still going strong after the two years that Ive had it. It now has 136,000 miles, and still no major mechanical problems. One power window went out, trim piece on drivers door broke off, power antenna stopped working, and one speaker has died. As of lately, the display on the original radio goes off and on. Putting my finger in the cassette slot and pulling out usually solves the problem. So far it has been worth the $5,000 I paid for it. I plan on driving it at least another year or so until I get a pay raise, then Ill get a newer Honda.

Ive owned my Accord for nearly 10 years. It is by far the most reliable and problem free car I have ever owned. It is not the most exciting car to drive however, I bought the car for reliability and gas mileage and have gotten my monies worth. Currently, I have 165K miles and hope to get 250K.

  • Ole reliable - 1999 Honda Accord

My parents bought me my old accord coupe when I got my license. At the time she had 170 thousand miles on her and ,As it says in the title shes reliable. I was never left stranded while I owned the car. just keep the oil changed and she got me where ever I wanted to go. The interior was comfortable and easy to see out of. My Honda had the v6 engine In it and it was an amazing engine. It had the best pick up go. But one draw back which was a big one, it was very rough shifting from first to second gear. But other than that it ran smoothly. I had the vehicle for three years. I drove her in rain and shine. And she did great in Both conditions. Also I drove her through a few light snows and she had great traction for an old fwd car. Besides oil changes, repairs were very minimal. I had to replace a window motor and the motor mounts. July 2015 was the end on my three years with black Betty. That when she was passed to my brother, with 212000 on her at the time. thats when I got my 2010 Ford Explorer. I love my new car but at times I miss the sporty little Honda.

  • Impressed - 2002 Honda Accord
    By -

After much research, I recently purchased a used 02 Accord. I am a diehard supporter of American cars, but after getting two lemons in a row from GM I was convinced to try Honda. So far, I am really impressed after 1,000 miles. There is one rattle in the dash, but should be an easy fix. Many complaints I have read about are nitpicks to the car - minus some tranmission issues. The tranny issues appear to be fixed. The V6 doesnt get the best gas mileage...but is one of the best engines Ive driven. I now understand "silky smooth". For those that complain about gas mileage - get the 4 cylinder. For those that want to have a little fun scooting the family around - get the V6! Great car!
