Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Best car Ive ever owned - 1997 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought my 97 Accord LX 4cyl in 1999 with 23,000 miles. I have since driven the car to 148,000, with no problems what so ever. The only thing I did was perform basic maintaince, such as tires, brakes, timing belt, cv joints, etc. My only concern is that the power windows are very slow, especially in cold weather. Other wise I love this car. It also aged very well, The day I sold it with 148K it looked and drove just as it did when I got it with 23K. Needless to say, I am replacing it with a newer Accord, a 2003 model.

  • Great Car!! - 2007 Honda Accord

This is my 5th Honda and Ive not been let down yet! The 5M is a fun car to drive. Handles well. Love the Cool Blue Metallic color. Ive filled up once and got about 27 mpg and thats with stop and go driving. I expect it to only get better.

  • Who can say hondas are refined? - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

I purchased a new Â’05 accord coupe lx in June 2005, and I expect this will be my last Honda. I have been quite disappointed with a car that has received such high regards from various auto critics. I am currently driving this lx with a blown stereo speaker and a vibrating engine that makes long drives utterly dreadful. The car would actually be decent transportation if something could be done about the refinement of the engine and mediocre stereo.

  • Excellent commuter vehicle - 2006 Honda Accord
    By -

If you want a fun, stylish commuter thats thrifty at the pump, this is your car. So far Ive averaged 32 mpg (measured by me) despite having nearly 170 hp on tap--a magnificent engineering feat by Honda! My perception of 4 cyl engines is forever changed. This is a quiet, comfortable, fun, economical and FAST car. Dont get the 4 cyl engine for your teenager thinking itll keep him/her out of trouble! The five-speed shifter is butter-smooth, and with a hyraulically-assisted clutch makes putting the 170 ponies on the ground an enjoyable endeavor. And for the icing; airbags all around-- head, side and front. Im very pleased with this vehicle!

  • Safe and Sound - 2007 Honda Accord
    By -

I purchased this car 7 months ago and now I have about 6500 miles on it. I travel mostly around town with the AC on. This is a reliable, well built, and comfortable car. Im glad I bought this model with the 6 cyl as it has good acceleration and a very quiet engine, plus the SE model no longer is available in the V-6. I dont need a sunroof or auto climate control and it is not any big deal to have manual seats. Now the V6 is std. with all that and it jacks the price up close to an extra $3,000. But is does have stablility control, traction control and the luxury of the V6, which I really like. Really, this is a great used car buy too.

  • Bad Car - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

2008 V6 sedan has vibration in steering wheel at speeds of 65 to 78 mph. Test drove a 2009 after I purchased mine only to find the same problem. Honda Corp does not acknowledge the problem. Possibly the new design with the new wishbone suspension. 7 months after the initial purchase @ 13,000 miles I needed rear brakes. They put ceramic pads on the rear to replace the factory pads and only charged me labor. But if they covered the brakes under warranty than why did I pay labor. Because brake pads are warrantied only up to 7,500 miles? Lets see how long these brake pads last! This is my 6th Honda and my last. Each newer model has more problems than the last.

  • Id do it again - 2001 Honda Accord
    By -

I have owned this car for three years and have had no problems. I bought it with just under 20K miles and have not hit 50k yet so I am definitely not beating it. I would buy this car again. Not everyone that owns a Honda will be problem free but you have to like your chances.

  • Winner! - 1998 Honda Accord

A truly excellent car all the way around. Keep it maintained and you will be very, very pleased.

  • Excellence - 2002 Honda Accord
    By -

Ive owned my Accord for 4 years now. Its only required the normal maintenance, with the exception of new brakes, front and rear. Its been a great car, and fun to drive. Its interesting to compare this with the first Accord I owned...a 1986 LX. Id drive up into the Rockies at 45 mph, tops! This car cruises easily up the slopes at 70 mph, and isnt breathing hard. It has a sumptuous feel to it today, even four years after I bought it. Id heartily reccomend an Accord to anyone whos quality conscious.

  • Beautiful ride - 1999 Honda Accord
    By -

The last car I had was a 1996 Honda Accord LX sedan. I loved that car... unfortunately a guy pulling out of a parking lot in a truck didnt share that same love. To make a long story short, I wound up with this 1999 Honda Accord EX-L. It performs very well with a lot of peppiness. I get about 30-35 mpg on the highway and 20-25 mpg in town. The car is comfortable to drive in and is very spacious. The bottomline is that you cant beat a Honda for value, performance, and integrity.
