Overview & Reviews
Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

- Roomy and stylish interior, tight build quality, smooth ride, powerful and efficient hybrid model, good crash test scores.
- Tepid handling, brakes should be more powerful.

It just plain gets the job done - 2005 Honda Accord
By OR driver - June 29 - 8:26 amThis is a safe, reliable and ergonomically superb automobile. The styling isa bit vague, certainly not as aggressive as Mazda6 or Altima, however this isnt a sports car, its a family sedan meant to transport a family in style and that is exactly what it does.

Outstanding car! - 2005 Honda Accord
By lockerc18 - June 21 - 2:30 pmOur 3rd Accord. Cant find a better value for the money. Reliable, economical, spacious, loads of fun to drive. The coupe is a better looking exterior design, but has too many blind spots because of the roof pillars, and of course, the back seat is useless. So, the sedan wins.

Best car Ive ever owned - 2005 Honda Accord
By Ricardo - June 11 - 3:03 amThe #1 rated family sedan by Car and Driver lives up to its reputation. I chose this over a toyota Corolla and Camry; fortunately for me I did. The standard safety features of 8 airbags and ABS helps drive insurance costs down while protecting you and your passengers. It averages 30+ mpg on the highway, even when going faster than 75. Performance is great, as it has more than enough power to get up and go when you need it. The styling of the 2005 is a step up from the 03-04 models (all red tail lights now) although I still prefer the coupe model (but insurance costs more). For a car under $20k this is the absolute best choice.

11 Years Later...Good as New! - 2005 Honda Accord
By Allison - June 7 - 10:03 pmI bought my 2005 Honda Accord EX-L brand new in 2005. 11 years later she is still going strong with 180,000 miles! I have replaced only the brakes, battery, and tires over the life of this car. The car has a great ride and my mechanic says I can take it another 180,000. This is just simply a fantastic car!

Santa was good to me, Got my dream car.. - 2005 Honda Accord
By YoJim - May 18 - 10:33 pmMust have done something good this year to get a way-cool car. Love the whole package. Honda took a risk in 03 when they did a major overhaul of their successful car (I still own a 98 Accord), but well worth it. Love the leather interior and all the amenities (dual heated seats, excellent ride, 110k between tune-ups, etc.). Would highly reccommend giving this car a test drive. My wife has the 02 Camary. Comparing the two side by side, the Accord is head and shoulders the better value.

Livin Large on a Moderate Budget - 2005 Honda Accord
By Don Paul - May 7 - 5:26 amIn the 4 months Ive my 2005 EX-V6, nothing has gone wrong; no rattles or creaks. Still feels brand new. Serene ride on most surfaces; shockingly fast; very good cornering; most comfortable driver seat Ive ever had; great ergonomics; feels luxurious yet sporty-when-pressed. Engine is a marvel, incredibly smooth and responsive. Usually have driven stick; this is a silky, responsive 5 speed auto with grade logic. Fit & finish near perfect; good brakes & better in snow than my previous Jetta 1.8T; good storage; very attractive 2 tone leather and dash; nice vinyl and only a bit of hard plastic; minimal wind noise; road noise on coarse surfaces fairly low. In general, love this car!
