This Year's Model Updates:

As the model was fully redesigned for the 2003 model year, there are only a few changes on the 2004 Honda Accord. Availability of side curtain airbags has been expanded this year to four-cylinder EX models -- standard on those with leather, optional on cars with a cloth interior. All four- and six-cylinder EX models equipped with a leather interior now have XM Satellite Radio with three months of free service as standard equipment. And as with all Honda cars this year, a new seatbelt reminder system is standard. Accord models meeting California's stringent Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) standards -- all four-cylinder sedans equipped with automatic transmission -- will also be sold in the states of New York, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.

Pros:
  • Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined and powerful engines, reputation for quality and durability, high crash test scores.
Cons:

    I just cannot stop driving this car. I looked carefully at Infiniti G-35, Subaru Legecy Ltd. 2005, Acura TL, and BMW 330 and decided to buy the Accord and do not regret it. At $23,000+ and 4.25% for sixty months, I got a lot of car for my money. The V6 is powerful and acceleration is effortless. The interior feels like entry-level luxeries at 30K+. There was a small scratch on the body and a faded spot on the glovebox door that the dealership took care of them very efficiently. As far as reliability is concerned, the jury is still out there. This is my first Honda so I cannot say much in that area but Others who have had Accords for years are very reassuring.

  • Sporty + Practical + Reliable Sedan A+++ - 2004 Honda Accord

    Very sporty and at the same time it is a practical sedan. 240 HP is good enough to blast this thing 0- 60 in 6.5s. TSC, ABS, 8 Airbags, 6 CD all came standard. I just love it and did i mention gas mileage. 25/30 MPG is what I get and its far better than many rivals especially Germans in this class !!! I loved its ABS & TCS cause it has saved me a couple of times from some ruthless physical forces ...... !!!

    I traded in my 1990 VW Jetta, looking for a sporty four door sedan that would be comfortable for 4 adults whether travelling to evening shows or bicycling events. I find the car extremely fun to drive. It has great exceleration and corners well. The seats are wonderfully comfortable and dont put pressure on the tail-bone.

    Problem in first 10300 miles: 1. SRS system. 2. Seat belt failure. 3. Multiplex computer unit failure. 4. Excessive Rattle. 5. Unknown cause of Engine light 6. Bad experience with the dealership. This is Hondas fault of choosing dealerships with such low standards.

  • Cheap and unreliable batteries!!! - 2004 Honda Accord

    The interior of this car is nice and roomy. But, there are a few little things that do not work right such as the glove compartment and the CD storage lid (does not close). The exterior is a little boring. The BIG PROBLEM is the cheap 3 years battery made in Mexico. I expect a battery with 5 years lifetime. My battery broke down after 5 months and was replaced by a Honda replacement battery with a 5 years warranty. But after 2 months, the new battery starts to act up again. My two previous cars are Honda and I was quite happy with them. Now, I totally lost my confidence in the Honda name.

  • New Accords First Year - 2004 Honda Accord

    My experience over 18 months of ownership of the Accord EX V6 indicates significant improvement in the engineering over the previous generation (handling, excelleration, drivetrain design, etc.). The exterior design remains lackluster, the initial quality of construction less than my previous Accord. There are some body integrity issues (door rattles, e.g.). The transmission, an exemplary smooth one linked to the equally smooth V-6, makes an annoying noise at 10 mph when first started. Aside from first year construction issues, the vehicle is a pleasure to drive both long and short distances, has a surprising amount of rear leg room, and has been dependable to a fault.

    I have had my 2003 Honda Acoord Ex for 11months now and have had ample time to really know the satisfaction of having bought the best car on the market to meet my needs.For a family of four, the interior is roomy and comfortable. I am relaxed and at ease using the controls on the steering wheel as well as those on the dash. I feel the car is very reliable and quite safe as I do my daily driving from work to my childrens school and home and to run errands. I was also amazed at the amount of trunk space in my car, there is more space than i imagined.
