This Year's Model Updates:

Following a complete redesign last year, the 2009 Honda Accord carries over unchanged, though the V6's official engine output is up a smidge after further testing revealed slightly more power than previously measured.

Pros:
  • Ample passenger space, high-quality interior, above-average steering feel, high resale value, available coupe body style.
Cons:
  • Intrusive road noise, button-heavy center stack, some find seats uncomfortable.

  • Love this baby! - 2009 Honda Accord

I bought this car for my wife. After driving this car, I hate driving my old 2k civic. I always drive it when we both go out. Road handling is excellent. I dont care about the road noise. Good build. Outside looks are gorgeous, looks similar to a BMW 5 series. Interior is spacious, including the trunk.

  • Best Mid-size ever built by Honda - 2009 Honda Accord

Ive shopped everywhere for a affordable yet sporty midsized. Ive looked at Camry, Maxima, and Mazda. The best was Honda Accord. Its got luxury, power, attractiveness, and even comfort. The V6 EX L is not cheap. I ended up paying over $31,000 after taxes and fees but its been well worth it. Acceleration is more than enough for my wife and me, interior room is very spacious, and I feel like Im in a true luxury vehicle. Sometimes I forget that its a Honda. Yes, its that good.

After 7 months and 7000 miles this car still impresses me. It has a combination of style, performance, handling, reliability, and quality of more expensive cars. I am a car buff and having had more than 50 cars this probably has the highest rating. I had a chance to try the stability control in a parking lot full of snow and ice and at twenty miles per hout driving in a tight circle the car would not slide and loose control ! It usually returns 22 to 24 city highway and one trip rural roads thru mass, Vermont nearly 28 mpg. Does have a little to much wind noise on the highway but that is the only thing I can think of against it. Why buy a more expensive car.

  • Would not buy again - 2009 Honda Accord

After 18000 miles I had to have new back breaks put on. The leather is fading inside already - car is garage kept. Noise is really is ridiculous. Got 21k on it now and would trade it in if I could and get something else. Should have just saved my money and got the 4cylinder instead.

  • Do not buy V6 AT - 2009 Honda Accord

As a Honda fan since 80 (first Civic) and having gone through every model since, I was pumped to get rid of my 95 accord with 240K on it. My search of reviews indicated the 09 Accord coupe was a good buy. Then I bought it and reality set in. The car constantly hunts between cylinders and when not on cruise control and is the most irritating thing I have ever experienced. Perhaps it is the letdown from my emotional attachment to Hondas. While I like everything else about the car, the VCM constantly changing speed trumps all that - and therefore DO NOT BUY.

  • Great Car - 2009 Honda Accord

I have been a Honda owner since 1979 and my 2009 coupe is the classiest to date. I really enjoy driving it. It handles and brakes extremely well, but it lacks power/acceleration when passing cars on the highway. Im sure a 6 cyl would be more responsive. I am not intimidated by the center dash controls and at night the cockpit looks very impressive. The leather seats are very comfortable and the diver seat controls make it easy to adjust. I am very impressed by the separate climate control system for the driver and passenger and the 6 CD stereo. Im a little disappointed in the trunk space. I can just squeeze in my large golf bag and cart. Overall there is no other car that I would want.

  • Bad Ride - 2009 Honda Accord

Seats are very, very, very uncomfortable. I drove it on a 300 mile trip, would rather have bicycled. Door handles do not operate smoothly. Competition has more features for the same price, or less. Honda customer service is not the best either. If testing this vehicle carefully compare this cars seats to your present car. This is my second Honda wont be a third, except for a lawn mower.

  • Unhappy Honda Owner - 2009 Honda Accord

Where do I start? There is a surge in vehicle when you drive when it switches back and forth from 6CL to 3CL (which is constantly). The brakes have squeaked from almost day one. My dealership told me 1st I was braking too hard, then I was braking too soft and then it was because of the gravel road I had to drive on to get to my house (about 50 yards). Its funny I never had that problem with my Toyotas. Now they are telling me that Honda acknowledges a problem with the brakes but now we have to wait for a service bulletin to be released. In the meantime I am making a monthly payment on a car that is embarrassing to drive. I will never buy Honda again!!! Oh yea, and the road noise...

The Accord is good. reliable transportation. The LX model is pretty plain with nothing fancy but that is what my wife wanted. We have had only a couple of repairs and the car has 96000 miles on it. WE have had all the recommended maintenance performed at the dealer and have found them to be reasonably priced. All things considered it is a very good car, just not that exciting.

  • Flawless after 10K - 2009 Honda Accord

After driving my Accord for the last year I am really impressed. This car is roomy, fun to drive and has excellent feature content. This car is definitely a drivers car with fantastic steering and a really high end engine(no one builds a better engine than Honda). I am surprised at some of the low owner ratings here maybe I just got lucky, but either way this has been a really good car for my family.
