This Year's Model Updates:

Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

Cons:
  • Tepid handling, brakes should be more powerful.

  • Going Greener with Some Style - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

A first look for the curious...My initial gas mileage is around 29 mpg for in town (60% highway/ 40% city). Powerful engine but if you have a lead foot dont expect to get the mpg also. You can slightly feel the engine kick between ECO (three cylinder operation) and the full six. You should test drive it (at operating temp.) and feel for this. Engine shuts down on stops (at op. temp.) unless you like or need to constantly creep forward. Youll feel the slight vibration on restart, but I enjoy the reminder Im not sitting and idling. My driving style is changing to match the capacity of the car (looking for the ECO light). Power-excellent; handling-good; interior-very good. More later?

  • One of the best cars - 2005 Honda Accord

Owned this car for 9 years. Minimal maintenance. If you want one that drives great and lasts long, get the 7th generation. Still many strong 7th gens out there. Just make sure to change your transmission fluid more often.

  • Great car for the money - 2005 Honda Accord

I was shopping for a car w/navi in the $35,000 range-G35,TL,ES330.I really didn`t want to buy an Accord because you see so many of them on the road. The more I shopped the better the Accord looked. For over $10,000 less than I planned to spend I got a well engineered car thats comfortable and fun to drive. The interior is well done with nearly all audio and climate controls avilable on the steering wheel.

Car is great. Over 70 MPH and mileage drops between 31-33 MPG, but other than that its great.

  • Great Car BUT Still Room For Improvement - 2005 Honda Accord

I wanted more power so I traded my 2003 Accord EX 4 cyl. w/NAV for a 2005 V-6 EX w/NAV and not much has changed. Build quality is great. The V-6 is quieter than the 4. The 6 feels better on the freeway. The V-6 is getting me right at 30mpg on the freeway. I sacrificed about 5 mpg going from the 4cyl. But it’s worth it to me. I appreciate the Side and Curtain Airbags for 2005, as well as the lighted steering wheel. The 05 NAV added more voice commands than the 2003 NAV. Honda also improved the User Interface and added new features to make already the best NAV on the market even better (Acura/Honda – same NAV).

  • Little Red Coupe - 2005 Honda Accord

Had to wait to get the color red with navigation. With new car, why not get color I want? Also like tan leather better than black. Never had navigation and GPS is amazing; also like the XM radio and will keep it. The power can pin you back into the seat and the 1st MPG was 24.1 on regular. I wanted a car fun to drive on twists but comfortable on freeway. Think this will be it and can keep for a long time. Felt the coupe looked better in back compared to sedan. Body appears sculpted aerodynamically from all angles.

  • A sure thing. - 2005 Honda Accord

Everything just works flawlessly. The car is not cheaply made with squeaky plastic. Everything feels solid and smooth. Road noise/wind noise/engine hum is never noticed. Perfect size for comfortable driving with four people. Plenty of storage space in trunk. Four cylinder has plenty of power yet still has good gas efficiency. Lines are distinctive and classy with great curb appeal.

  • Old accord great, New accord even better - 2005 Honda Accord

Just bought the 2005 accord about 4 months ago. Previously had a 1993 accord that never had any major problems (Typical Honda). The honda is awesome. It has a lot more room and the ride quality is outstanding. Personally i would have perferred the V6, even though 2.4L has plenty of power.
