Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • One of the best cars I ever owned - 1990 Honda Accord
    By -

I had the base model with 4cyl engine, 5spd manual, and pw / pdl. The car was amazing. I have since sold it but wanted to mention this car was one of the best I ever owned. I woukd take into the dealer for oil changes and ask if there was anything else they recommended and they would also say no after the inspection. It just ran and ran. I never had any problems with the car. Engine in my opinion was under-powered in low gears with the manual shift but once I got up to cruising speed it performed well. Highway cruising and fuel mileage was excellent. I drove from Los Anegles to Phoenix on a little over a half tank. Yes it is true that really happened. A nice tail wind, no traffic, and at night no less but it did happen. I couldnt believe my own eyes when looking at the gas gauge. The interior was pretty stout and the seats were really comfortable. My car was white and the paint was in excellent shape when I sold it. One concern I have now after doing some research online is I found out the 4cyl uses a timing belt and it should have been changed to prevent engine damage on the old one breaking and the dealer never recommended this to me. The timing belt never broke under my ownership thank God but considering the mileage and use I put on that car I am surprised it never did. I always thought it had a chain but found out it was a belt. The only complaint I would have is the power radio antenna stopped retracting. I also noticed on every accord of the same time frame they had the same issue. And my late 80s model Acura was the same. Crap motor on that Honda item but overall these cars are gems and even to this day I see many of them on the road. Just saw a station wagon model the other day I never knew they made those. I would recommend this Honda Accord model to anyone.

Great all around car. Good in snow. could use more power. Controls well laid out. Had problems with Ac, starter, fuel injectors.

  • ACCORD EX 4cyl - 1998 Honda Accord

Styling still looks good in and out after all these years. Good handling car, though has excessive road noise that penetrates the cabin especially on rough surfaces, not a problem on our same year (98) Toyota Camry , also not as reliable so far with 98000 replaced egr sensor @ 62000, cat converter @ 80000, & just recently replaced cv joints, will soon trade for a Toyota

  • Cant go wrong with Accord - 2002 Honda Accord

This is my 4th Accord. All have been excellent cars, little or no problems, even with the ones I bought used. The quality of the cars have gotten better each and everytime I have bought one. The new 2004 will be my 5th Accord. I drive in excess of 30,000 miles per year, with nothing more than an oil change. You cant go wrong with the Accord

  • The quality of the car and the dealer - 2004 Honda Accord

Problem in first 10300 miles: 1. SRS system. 2. Seat belt failure. 3. Multiplex computer unit failure. 4. Excessive Rattle. 5. Unknown cause of Engine light 6. Bad experience with the dealership. This is Hondas fault of choosing dealerships with such low standards.

  • Scouts Rating - 2004 Honda Accord

I traded in my 1990 VW Jetta, looking for a sporty four door sedan that would be comfortable for 4 adults whether travelling to evening shows or bicycling events. I find the car extremely fun to drive. It has great exceleration and corners well. The seats are wonderfully comfortable and dont put pressure on the tail-bone.

  • Smooth comfort and power - 2003 Honda Accord

The shifting is superb. The velour seats work nicely but the lack of a split in the fold-down is a continued annoyance. The dash is pretty gimmicky and the controls are quirky. The daytime dash looks like the lights are on and vice versa. The 4 cylinder MT has all the power I demand from it. The clutch is really fast and light.

  • Best car for price - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

I am 99% pleased with my 05 Accord. It met all my expectations for the price. The 1% I do not like is road noise. It seems they cut corners when insulating.

  • Whats not to like! - 2007 Honda Accord
    By -

Own this car for a month and what a drive. Power, handling, smooth ride. Engine very quiet and max pick up with the 6 cyl engine. Only drawback with the non-luxury models is the road noise. But hey for me it isnt worth 30k or more to eliminate that so called problem. Was a loyal Nissan owner, now a loyal Honda owner.
