This Year's Model Updates:

Following a complete redesign last year, the 2009 Honda Accord carries over unchanged, though the V6's official engine output is up a smidge after further testing revealed slightly more power than previously measured.

Pros:
  • Ample passenger space, high-quality interior, above-average steering feel, high resale value, available coupe body style.
Cons:
  • Intrusive road noise, button-heavy center stack, some find seats uncomfortable.

  • Competent, not spectacular - 2009 Honda Accord

When I researched this car, complaints seem be centered around VCM, uncomfortable seats, road noise, and brake issues. 300 miles after I purchased this car, I am yet to experience issues in any of these areas. VCM seems to work fine; Ive driven up and down hills and on straight roads, speeds up to 70 mph, and transitions are far less noticeable than gear changes. I do not consider road noise an issue as long as you dont compare it to a Lexus. I am yet to experience any issues with the brakes. Overall, seems to be a well built car, handles far better than my old Camry, and am reasonably satisfied with it.

  • Very Bad Brakes - 2009 Honda Accord

Car delivered with a bad vibration in the brakes. dealer replaced front rotors at 1100 miles. Back in at 15000 miles vibration back, dealer turned rear rotors. Customer service has been great all handled under new car warranty. I will not have this car much longer as the brake problems are well documented in this car. How Honda maintains its reputation for reliability is beyond me.

  • 2009 Accord Coupe EX-L V-6 with NAVI - 2009 Honda Accord

Ive been a Honda owner for 8 years and my wife and I have had 6 during that time. Theyve all been extremely reliable and safe cars but theyve also been like vanilla ice cream when it comes to looking at them. Theyve all had the features weve wanted and most of them have been loaded. But until this new design, none of them have been very exciting. This car is gorgeous!! And it stands out getting looks everywhere I go. I opted for the coupe because I didnt like the look of the sedan, especially in the rear. The coupe however changes all of that! I went with every bell & whistle available and no regrets.

  • Excellent Sedan - 2009 Honda Accord

My wife and I love the car. The standard safety features are excellent. We first planned on getting a LX, but chose an EX instead for its upgraded engine and moonroof, both of which are worth the extra money. Having owned a Camry in the past, we are extremely pleased with Accords driving performance and how we feel the road. Dont worry about the road noise or seat comfort (lack of). We also looked at Altima, Camry, and Prius, but we thought Accord had the best overall value. Go and test-drive for yourself.

  • Disappointed from Day One - 2009 Honda Accord

Unfortunately, my first Honda will be my last. The right front brakes have squeaked since day one. The rear brakes have experienced premature wear and will soon need replacing. Driver side leather seat is very uncomfortable after 10-15 minutes of driving. Gas mileage is worse than advertised (I average 23 mpg). Honda America has no resolution to date for any of these problems. Additionally, my passenger side door was dinged a month ago and paint has already begun to chip. All in all, I deeply regret having bought this car and am continually disappointed with Honda Americas problem-solving capabilities or lack thereof.

  • Accord is King - 2009 Honda Accord

This is my second Accord. I love this one too! Im sold on the Accords reliability and resale value. The interior is very upscale. Well designed with plenty of room. The 4 cylinder makes more power than I expected. Grill area of the car looks great. The tailight area could be improved. Looks great as a coupe, but the sedan looks weak from the rear. Road noise is more than I expected. Stereo is ok, but could be better. The fit and finish is top notch.

  • Best Coupe Under $40K Available - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I drove the Infinit G35 (great drive, terrible interior), the Altima Coupe (good drive, just not great), the BMW 3 Series (good drive, OVERPRICED) the Mercedes C230 (rides like a Buick), & the Toyota Camry Solara (chunky drive like the Mercedes). None of these cars compare to the Honda Accord V6 Coupe. The only ride I liked better was the G35 but its a rear wheel drive. And for that price it doesnt come with an ipod hook-up?!?!?! No other car even came close to the Accord as far as value and ride. YOU WILL LOVE IT! But drive the others so you have that, ha-ha! I got the best one feeling. Its lovely.

  • Drivers Seat very uncomfortable - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

The drivers seat is very uncomfortable, and I didnt really notice this discomfort until after a 30 minute drive. The seat cushion on the bench part of the seat (the part of the seat the fanny sits on) is way too firm. And the front of the bench part of the seat does not tilt down enough to avoid excessive pressure on the underside of the thighs. I will have to have a wedge shaped custom cushion fabricated to solve this problem. I have sat in a 1999 Honda Accord, Nissan Altimas, Toyota Camrys and Mazda 626s, and they all have much more angle adjustment on the bottom seat cushion than the 2008 Accord. Honda needs to go back to the drawing board on their front seat design for the Accord!!!

  • Should be better - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

I have had my new Honda accord for 3 months. Everything is Ok, but not as good as I expected. The worse thing is it gives so much noise, especially on the local road. I have visited the service twice already. I had read some reviews, it seems the noise is a common issue for this model of car. The seats are a little too hard for those who do not weigh so much.
