Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Honda at its best - 2004 Honda Accord

I just purchased this car and I am very impressed. I have owned a few cars in my day (32) including this one and this is by far the most impressive for the money. I traded a 2001 Lincoln LS and there is no comparison. The Honda is built to last. The 4 cylinder motor is outstanding, spacious interior, nice ride, smooth transmission, and great gas mileage. If you are in the car buying market you must give this a test drive.

I purchase this car with 70k mi and now have 180k mi. I must say Honda does built quality cars, but there are issues. It is well known about the transmission issue. I had mine replaced at 120,000 and Honda shared the cost with me, no complaints there. The transmission still has a very weird shifting pattern, always has, always will. Wind noise from the front windows is a factor, but I understand updated molding from Honda corrects this. Love the leather interior and overall quality of cabin,(nothing rattles). Bland look on outside, but it is a family sedan.

  • Outstanding Mix of Sport & Luxury - 2006 Honda Accord

Had an 06 Accord Hybrid on order but decided to cancel when it kept being delayed with no information from Honda. Really glad that I got the V6 6-speed instead! Mileage: 2622 miles driven at last fill-up (odometer, not navi miles); 93.502 gallons of regular=28.04 mpg average. Lowest 24.7 mpg on first tank. Highest 30.1 mpg. Mixed highway/city; no trips so far. Consistent 30+ mileage possible by avoiding full-throttle starts and limiting freeway speeds to 80 mph. I generally drive for mileage & let off the gas as soon as I see a light turn red. 6-speed is great. I like the shifter as well or better than my 04 S2000 (now sold). Combination of handling, ride & performance is perfect for me.

  • Too soon to tell, but . . . - 2002 Honda Accord

I bought this car for $15,700 in August and, quite expectedly, have experienced no problems to date. The car is suprisingly spacious (my 88 Accord was about the size of an 02 Civic 4- door). Although only 150 hp, the 5- speed enables decent acceleration. For a car that wont leave you stranded on the highway, you cant beat the price (though the DX/VP is probably a better bargain if you can handle rolling up your own windows). Very easy to drive.

I think this Accord is one of the best vehicles I have owned. It has a great ride and is very comfortable. I looked at several other cars (Acura, Toyota, and Nissan) and for the price it just couldnt be beat.

  • Only one Honda - 2001 Honda Accord

Bought this car new. Most overrated car in America. Radio was defective new, replacement has problems. Front driver seat rail was defective new, replacement no better. Paint holds wax about 45 days, then dulls. Bought body side moldings new. Within 10 months the paint failed and dealer had to pull off moldings and replace. When I asked about warranty on replacements, dealer shrugged. Paid for mud flaps. They do not keep anything off body. What are they for? Worst problem is car hydroplanes above 35 MPH in moderate rain. And the traction control only functions up to 15 MPH. First and last Honda for me.

great car.I bought a 2007 Honda Accord yesterday and it breaks my heart to part with this car. I might keep it on the road for the winter. This car is a one owner and it still has most original parts.

  • Good... but could be better - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought my car last year after an accident totaled my 2007 Nissan Altima coupe and can I just say I miss my Altima. : ( my family talked me into the car... Telling me how good the gas mileage is (not true... my Altima got better city) and how the features outnumber any car in its class. But the bottom line is the cars stereo system... its just weird, if you dont have navigation some of the buttons are oddly placed (the tuner 2.5 in nob) the display under the speedometer could be more helpful (telling me how many miles / gallon I have, telling me how my speed affects my gas mileage... etc.). But I will say that its larger than any other coupe I looked at. Its a good car... but it could be better.
