Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Straight Soldier - 1992 Honda Accord

Our Honda has been passed down throughout my family and will soon be sold. This car hauled an almost 2500 lb U-Haul trailer from Virginia to Arizona and is still kicking. Two things that commonly go in these due to bad circuit construction are the transmission computer and the main relay. New computer can be bought from ecmtogo for about $200 and relay is $60 at the dealer. Replacing these two parts is easy and should take care of most blinking D4 light issues. Aside from that, this car is a true champion of Japanese engineering and sets the standard for longevity.

  • 200,000 miles and going strong - 1992 Honda Accord

We bought this car New in 1992. This car has been outstanding. No problems with the car at all. Well I take that back. I have had to replace the knobs for the heater and fan, total cost $15. We bought this car because we felt we would get our money out of it in the long run. and 200,000 miles later I say we sure have!!! this is a very well built auto.

  • First Honda - 2002 Honda Accord

Ive had my Honda Accord for just over a month now, and what can I say about it, I LOVE it. This is my first Honda, I used to own a Chevy Cavalier which gave me lots of problems. So I decided to go with a Honda. Ive got 6,000 miles on my car and its only a month old! This car handles great on the highway, including the ability to shift the automatic into 3rd gear if you need that extra "get-up and go." Im quite impressed with the pick up, since this is a family sedan. According to the owners manual, you can shift the gears in the automatic, as if it were a stick. Ive done this a few times, from a traffic light and wow can this car go!

  • Rattel, rattle, rattle - 2002 Honda Accord

I love everything about this car, EXCEPT the rattles in: the stereo bracket, the passenger door molding, the rear passenger-side molding, the speaker covers, the driver-side dash, the right-hand vent molding, the sunroof hardware and the glove box latch. And no, Im not unusually picky about these things: everybody who rides in it says something to me. Ive also had bizzare noises from the rear brakes and the muffler heat shield. Only the latter two have been fixed - all the others are ignored by Honda mechanics, needless to say.

  • Excellent value - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my first Accord and I think it is a great value. I have had other Hondas - the old Prelude and the Acura Legend. They were all very reliable as I expect this one to be. This Accord drives like my old Prelude and is quite fun to drive. It is noisier than my Lexus LX but not more so than my Town and Country Limited or my old Mercedes E. It gets good mileage on HWY = 30 but mediocre on local = 21. Everything else is great in the car for the amount of money paid.

  • Not as Good as you Think!!! - 2000 Honda Accord

This car is appraised so much for its reliability...well its body hardware is horrible and there are better cars. There is 115k miles on mine, but still...theyre supposed to keep running...something electrical keeps going wrong...

  • Low Milage, Large Turning Radius, Costs - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Paid $19,995 for LXP package plus taxes no destination. Has door security, alloy wheels, CD/am/fm, no gps, no sunroof. Friends are getting 24mpg I avg about 20. I have never before driven a car where the mileage is lower than the advertised MPG. The unlock button sometimes needs repeated hits to work, good thing the drivers door still has a key. I think the code reset on the remote sometimes doesnt connect correctly.

  • the perfect 10 - 2005 Honda Accord

We LOVE our new Honda...we upgraded from a 2003 Accord LX and could not be happier! We have seats that warm and satelite radio! TERRIFIC gas milage as well!

  • Great Car- Poor Electronic Design! - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my first Honda since the 90s, and I am satisfied with it so far. The only issue I have is due to a poor design in the charging system that causes the headlights to dim when the A/C cycles on. Its only for a split second, but happens about every 20 seconds in the summer-time. This is simply annoying, and makes me have some doubt as to Honda engineerings quality. The dealerships service depts are well aware of the issue, and so far Honda has not posted a resolution. The dealers are anxious to get a bulletin for repair because it is a profit generator for the service departments! I filed this complaint with the NTHSA, so for now well "wait and see" if Honda makes it right.
