This Year's Model Updates:

Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

Cons:
  • Tepid handling, brakes should be more powerful.

  • I love to drive this car!! - 2005 Honda Accord

I bought this car last weekend and havent regreted buying it. I was impressed by the acceleration in the V6. Gas mileage is good for a V6. All the climate controls and radio buttons and knobs are within easy reach. Its obvious that the person who rated this car 3.3 works for a competitor, because this car doesnt deserve 3.3. Thank you Honda for continuing to build great cars.

Excellent car - superb build quality, equipment levels, and performance. dealer was first rate - received a $2500 discount + an "excellent" Blue Book trade-in on my Passat. Dealer was professional and I felt very satisfied with the experience. Not the prettiest car Ive owned, but feel strongly it will be one of the most enjoyable and reliable.

This is the first brand new car that i have ever owned and I am 100 percent satisfied. We drove from NJ to California and the car handled the road like it was made for it.

  • "The car that nobody wants" - 2005 Honda Accord

I bought the 2005 Accord LX Coupe 2.4l equipped with the 5-speed manual transmission, "the car that nobody wants" according to multiple dealers I visited. I am 65" and 220 lbs and cant fit in an EX, the sunroof scrapes my head. Plenty of headroom in the LX. Tilt/telescopic wheel with lighted controls is great! Ordering a car from Honda is not easy, dont believe the brochures on color choice. For $18,325 I got a safe car that will last a long time, offers a good balance of power, sportiness, quality, roominess, and economy. Car is incredibly quiet and I expect many years of trouble free service from it. Many thoughtful features with intuitive operation and flawless performance.

  • Best Accord yet - 2005 Honda Accord

I purchased this Accord, our fifth, 3 weeks ago and couldnt be happier. The 6 cylinder engine coupled with the 5 speed auto transmission and 16 inch tires are a great improvement. It rides well, has plenty of power, looks good inside and out, and has plenty of safety features. It is fun to drive and compared to my Lexus LS430 seems very comparable for less than half the price. It is a superb urban vehicle for my wife.

  • Best vehicle Ive had - 2005 Honda Accord

On the road, going up the "mountain", it is better than my 5.0 Mustang or my Avalon were. In town, it gets as good mileage as my Civic EX did. Everyone who rides in it remarks about the comfort and room. Quiet and a pleasure to drive on the road; mileage great until you get to 80+.

The vehicle is HOT! Before buying, I drove the Maxima & TL; I bought the Accord (Red): no premium on price or gas, and not costly to maintain. I trust Honda; this is my 6th. I did not like the redesign at first until I saw the 6 spd with the 17 inch sport wheels. People stare with envy: I like that!

  • Good show! - 2005 Honda Accord

Enjoy driving on the highway. Has good response when needed, and handles well except with wind conditions.

Where to start? The engine (V6) is smooth and powerful (240hp). The automatic transmission is quick to downshift and the spacing between the gears helps give quick starts off the line. While in 5th gear is only taching 2400rpm at 80 mph for good fuel economy (avg 27 mpg in 70% highway driving). It handles well with little body lean, yet is quiet and absorbs bumps gracefully. The interior is high quality, very comfortable and for a coupe, pretty spacious. The true cost of ownership (considering depreciation), is only a little more than a Dodge Neon over 5 years. It has top safety rating in all categories. Though its not the best in its class at any 1 thing, it is very good at everything
