Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

This is a good practical car. It has nice styling but nothing fancy. Great gas mileage, but its a trade off for that great gas mileage it lacks speed and performance. I got a 4 cyl and really wished I had gotten a 6cyl. Its a great car for a mom with kids, or a college student. If you want wow and performance buy a BMW 330i.

  • Great MPG but hate the seat! - 2009 Honda Accord

We were forced into purchasing another car. We were coming out of a 2000 Nissan Maxima SE which is billed as the "family sports car" and it is. We had all the bells and whistles and we loved that car. New Maxima was out of our price range. Previously had a Honda Accord back in 1986 which we loved, kept it until 212,000 miles so thats why we went back to a Honda. Did lots of research on this purchase and for the money it seemed like we should have been thrilled; we got $6K off the sticker and have had it 5 weeks and put 5200 miles on it. We are getting 36MPG which is fantastic BUT the drivers seat and steering wheel are horribly uncomfortable. Very tough getting used to this car.

Has provided superior performance from day one. No problems whatsoever. Minimal maintenance required in all areas. Original tires lasted 60m - brakes 50,000. Still has original muffler at 107,000 miles.

I should have bought a Honda along time ago.

  • I feel for who I sell this to. - 1998 Honda Accord

I loved my Accord when I bought it. I paid cash after saving throughout college. Then I had to replace the transmission, Desert Honda in Las Vegas where I bought it failed to replace the fluid when the scheduled maintenance said it was due. At 65,000 miles the transmission was shot and American Honda did not help nor did Desert Honda. I have gone through a catalytic converter, rack and pinion, new steering column and a new starter. None of it with the help of Honda. I will never buy another.

  • 9 years old and still running great - 1993 Honda Accord

Great car! The exterior is still in great shape, the design itself is holding up pretty well although the front seems to be aging better than the back of the car. Interior is well- thought out with plenty of places to place your things and easy to use controls. Even though the engine is a 4 cylinder, it has good pickup and handling is simple and nice.

I looked at both the Toyota Camry and the Accord - and with both I4 and V6 engines. My conclusiomn was that if one wanted a V6, it is better to go with a Camry. For an I4, the Accord is a better car. My only gripe - offer the Accord V6 with a manual tranny, and I will not even think about a Camry !! While the car is awesome for most practical purposes, the ride is a bit on the "jumpy" side for 4+ hour trips. The "premium" stereo is a little under- powered; and while the seats seem a bit stiff, they are great for long-distance drives - as they offer excellent support. Bapcha

This is one of the most fun cars to drive. It comes with Hondas reliabilty and great handling. The fuel economy on the 4 cylinder is great. The car doesnt have the nip of the V6 but still delivers reasonable performance out of the 150 HP VTEC engine. In short, it is a real sweet car for its price

  • Overall Great Car - 2005 Honda Accord

Ive had this car for (3) months and 12K miles. Leather seats and interior ergonomics are excellent. Gas mileage has averaged 35 with mostly highway and rural road driving. Manual transmission is effortless in forward gears. Reverse is sometimes difficult getting into gear.

Best car I have ever owned. It has been flawless. I have had regular services performed as recommended and had the brakes serviced at ~60,000 miles.
