Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Need a better transmission - 2002 Honda Accord
    By -

The transmission began to jerk after 50000 miles and totally broke after 85000 miles. Spent more than $22K to get it fixed and now the driving is very smooth. There was also some transmission issue in my another Honda Accord (1996 model), which was totaled by a drunkard. Everything else is good.

  • A little disappointed - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

I have a red 08 V6 coupe. Noticed paint chipping around the rear tail lights and front lights. Had to have dealer remove lights, sand down edges, paint and reinstall. Driver side door handle sticks and dealer states there is no adjustment. Auto-transmission down-shifts abruptly, a lot of rattles and wind noise. Fit and finish is not typical Honda. If I were to buy again, Id look at the Infiniti G-37.

  • Honda did it right - 1999 Honda Accord
    By -

The vehicle is fun to drive, very stylish, roomy and confortable. It has excellent view from all sides. Good mileage on the open road. Very spacious inside, and the trunk is large enough to handle large suitcases. Only one computer chip problem in nearly eight years, that the dealer was able to fix.

  • Nothing But Problems - 1996 Honda Accord
    By -

I purchased this car on 3/7/07, with 111,777 miles on it. The carfax report indicated that this was a one-owner car. At 111,972 miles I needed to have the following parts put on the car: front brake pads, rotors and wheel bearings $458.00, rear disc brake pads and rotors $139.40, left front CV shaft assembly $161.90, replacement of complete exhaust from catalytic converter back $398.54. As of today, 4/13/07, the alternator went out, add another $376.00 for the part (if you want one with a reasonable/and/or lifetime warranty). Also, I guess some type of pump has gone out because the windshield washer fluid doesnt work. Worst car Ive ever owned.

  • Displeased - 2009 Honda Accord

Within first month, the brakes started to squealÂ…I have taken the car to the dealership 6 times & they could not fix it. After the fifth visit, the dealership admitted that Honda knows about this problem; apparently Honda has a Tech Line stating FRONT BRAKE SQUEAL and PREMATURE REAR PAD WEAR on 2008-09 Accord and Accord V6. In addition, I have problems with different buttons squeaking & the only thing they have done is spray oil on them. I have contacted Honda for help, nevertheless, nothing has happenedÂ… they are claiming Honda ENGINEERS are working on the brake problem (almost 2 years) & they are not willing to make an attempt to fix it by replacing the pads. I will NEVER buy a Honda.

  • My First Accord - 2006 Honda Accord
    By -

My first new car purchased and after five months of driving couldnt be happier with it. Overall its a solid car. Plenty of luxury for a nonluxury nameplate car. I decided to get the 6 cycl to be comparable to the power of my previous car a 93 Chrysler Concorde, but also for the better look of dual exhausts and stability control not offered in the 4 cycl. Love the driver friendly interior layout, from the white lighted dashboard to the intuitive controls. Folding down rear seats is rather cumbersome.

  • Liked Previous Gen Better - 2010 Honda Accord

Years ago I owned a 2004 Honda Accord EX 4cyl and I have to say I thought it was a much better car. The new Accord is significantly larger which is great for some but it shows when cornering and the body begins to roll. The standard amenities are fantastic, but the interior audio buttons are made for Mr. Magoo and just too large. The engine is peppy but performance of the car is boring and not involving at all. The exterior design of the car is mediocre at best with odd curvature lines in places. Seats hurt my back after a road trip from CA to AZ and the build quality feels very cheap. That being said fuel economy is fantastic.

  • Love My Accord - 2003 Honda Accord

The car makes a statement. It was compared to a 9 series BMW. Of courser the BMW has a lot more gadgets, but overall the person who own the BMW said that my accord was very similar to his car. I purchased the Black accord. My complaint is that the paint seems to have developed swirls in it. I have also been having problems with the brakes but I understand that this is the first model in the style.

  • Exceptional - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my first Honda automobile. This model comes with everything except Navigation, but after owning it for a month I couldnÂ’t be more pleased. The engine is very quite at idle (canÂ’t hear it), and provides ample acceleration. The interior very comfortable and comes with all the bells & whistles. The automatic climate control is excellent along with the heated seats. The traction control proved to be an excellent addition when pulling out of a snow bank left by the city plow. The car is an excellent example of overall superior engineering and quality considering its cost. I couldnÂ’t be happier with my decision to purchase it.

This is my first Honda and I am so impressed. The redesign is so well done. This car feels big inside, accommodates four large adults with ease. The trim package with the chrome looks so classy, I have received many compliments already. Door closure is solid, leather seats are very comfortable. I got 25 mpg around town with first tank. No Highway travel yet. I love the variable cylinder engine feature of the V6, I do notice it change but it is really not a big deal. Every control placement is well thought out, although the radio controls are somewhat redundant. I think Honda has really done well here and the added expense compared to the others in the same class is well worth it.
