This Year's Model Updates:

Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

Pros:
  • Roomy and stylish interior, tight build quality, smooth ride, powerful and efficient hybrid model, good crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Tepid handling, brakes should be more powerful.

  • Accord Hybrid "The best yet"!!! - 2005 Honda Accord

I purchased a Civic Hybrid three years ago and just upgraded to the new Hybrid Accord. It has to be the best Honda of the 25 that I have owned. I have found nothing that I do not love about this car and when they describe it as a "Hybrid Rocket", they are not kidding!! What a wonderful addition to the Honda Family!!

Absolutely love this car. Have 10,000 KM since purchased on April 2 (Its August now)and I am averaging 8.4 l/100 KM for the entire life of the car. Handling is great for a large sedan with acceleration extremely quick and impressive. The electric motor seems like it is pulling you along. Would never even think about purchasing an Acura TL. Best feature - when I am picking up my wife I stop in the parking lot with my foot on the brake and enjoy the A/C without the engine running. Note: The review that stated they purchased the first one in Canada, would have to have bought it before April 2, 2005 to beat my purchase.(Did the salesman tell a fib???)

Bought it after testdriving several competitors, camry, nissan. So far enjoying it completely. Nice acceleration, comfort, fun to drive. My first Accord, but not the first Honda. Looks good inside and out, comfy leather, clean lines.Comes with everything included, which is nice.Even my teenage son is impressed!

I LOVE THIS CAR! It has everything I was wanting. It drives & rides like a luxury car. The Accord costs a little more than an average car, but after owning one I will never buy anything else. I knew they were awesome looking, but I had no idea what detail they put in to making them.

  • Runs Forever - 2005 Honda Accord

This is our 3rd Accord LX 4 cylinder (See similar reviews under 97 Accord and 2000 Accord Runs Foverer). 97 LX model has 209000 miles & still going strong with no major repairs, 2000 LX model has 73000 miles with no repairs. The new 2005 model finds an excellent middle ground between the 97, which runs and feels like a sports coupe / 2+2, and the 2000 which drives and feels more like a traditional family sedan. I switched from Toyota after blowing the head gaskets in our 92 3.0 liter V6 engine twice (@ 85K and 140K miles) due to an engine design defect which necessitated a complete engine rebuild. No more toyotas for this driver.

After waiting since November, I just got my new white Accord Hybrid. It was worth the wait! The exterior is sporty with its aerodynamic lines, mini spoiler, and satellite antenna. Its interior is cozy, loaded with features like separate climate control for driver and passengers, voice activated navigation and audio systems, comfy leather seats, and fully adjustable drivers seat.

I bought my car on 2/18/05 (who can top that)and got a great deal. The experiance have been great and since that time i have put 11k miles on it due the fact that i drive practiclely all day 6day a week. The best city was 25mpg and highway 39mpg. I love when I stop and it switches to electric... complete silence.. The speed is excellent, and i had to prove that to a few drivers who want to test me. luv it

  • Completely In Love - 2005 Honda Accord

I havent even had my Accord coupe for a month yet but I know that I struck gold when I picked this car. The performance is excellent considering that it is a 4 cyl (no problems merging onto highways). I considered waiting a year to buy an Acura TL, but the Accord has almost everything the TL does plus its sportier because of the 2-door option and more importantly, much less expensive but every bit as reliable. No regrets here!

  • Best yet - 2005 Honda Accord

I have owned quite a few cars and until now, with the exception of a VW beetle in the 70s (forgive me; it was the time) I had always bought American made, and always had issues before long. When my son was eighteen and bought his first car, he bought a four door, four cylinder Accord. While nice looking, reliable and easy on insurance esp with a teenager at the wheel, it didnt seem to have that extra kick. So last year when I needed to decide something about a vehicle, I saw an ad for the 2dr coupe and well, it is sitting in my garage now. Black with black leather and maxed out with the 6 cylinder engine, I havent had so much fun driving ever. I LOVE THIS CAR. and so will you.
