Following a complete redesign last year, the 2009 Honda Accord carries over unchanged, though the V6's official engine output is up a smidge after further testing revealed slightly more power than previously measured.

Pros:
  • Ample passenger space, high-quality interior, above-average steering feel, high resale value, available coupe body style.
Cons:
  • Intrusive road noise, button-heavy center stack, some find seats uncomfortable.

  • New Owner Loves Car - 2009 Honda Accord

I test-drove many cars, several of which were great (Prius, 2010 Ford Fusion, Camry) but as a confirmed Honda driver, I came back to the 2009 Accord. Love everything, but I have to agree with several other reviewers that the drivers seat is often downright uncomfortable -- Im a 56" female and the seat back hits me in the wrong place, throwing me into a very unnatural position. Putting on the lumbar makes matters worse. Im hoping the seat softens up and takes on the arm-chair cushiness of my 2006 Accord. Cup holders are still in bad position and dangerous because you have to look down at them to remove a beverage cup. But its a beauty, decent mileage, drives well, plush, very roomy, mine!

I traded my 2006 Accord Sedan, for the 2009 Accord Coupe. Im really happy with my trade. The body style is sleek and sharp. Although the EX has 190 HP, I think it drives fast and smooth. Im having lots of fun driving this baby around. Although theres lots more buttons on the console, I found it easy to navigate. A lot of people complain about the road noise, but I have no problem with it, and I aint going deaf.

  • First and Last Honda - 2009 Honda Accord

Talk about hype over a Honda. I have had 3 Jeep Grand Cherokees in the last 9 years and wish I had another one. Fuel economy nowhere near what Honda claims and that was the main reason I switched vehicles. Road and brake noise is extreme and the "Premium Sound System" cannot overcome much of it. Super uncomfortable driver seat and when below 20 degrees outside, better bring extra clothes. No insulation at all. Handling does not come close to the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Very disappointing. Thank goodness I can give it back in 39 months. Save your money and look elsewhere!

  • Back to Honda - 2009 Honda Accord

I researched and drove multiple cars for months before deciding the V6 Navi was the best decision for the $. I wanted the coupe, but the back seat was a non-starter for adults. Awesome sound system! Mileage not what I expected from the VCM engine, and I drive with a light foot. Navi isnt intuitive yet, but I hope to be better with it after a couple months. The climate control system is exceptional. People I talk to through blue tooth say the sound quality is very good. Exceptionally fine handling and steering. After 4 Hondas and 3 Mercedes, Im sold on Honda. Why pay twice as much for an unreliable Mercedes when you can have a car like this?

  • Very Impressed - 2009 Honda Accord

Just purchased the 2009 Accord v-6 w/ navigation. Looked at all other cars in this class, felt that the Honda offered me the best all around in terms of performance, reliability and cost.

  • Does Honda quality still prevail? - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Ive always had Hondas. My 98 Honda Civic was an awesome car and value. My 89 Honda CRX was also amazing. Ive had the 2009 Honda Accord for 5 months & have put 10k miles on it. There is no question, it looks great in & out. This new design has character, the Accord has been missing this for years. Im not impressed with the ride quality..you feel every bump..no exaggeration. Also, the interior scratches very easily. This is still by far the best car for the money!!

  • Terrible Fuel Economy - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Traded in my gas guzzling V8 BMW when fuel prices spiked. I expected better fuel mileage with the 4-cylinder. Only getting about 19-20mpg driving like a grandma. Not the most exciting car but very comfortable leather. Ive talked with other 4-cylinder owners who complain about fuel economy. The 4-cyl just isnt beefy enough to pull the weight of this car. Go for the V6 or get a different car.

  • A disappointing purchase - 2009 Honda Accord

I bought the 2009 as my 5th Honda accord, and couldnt be sorrier. My previous ones were excellent, so I didnt pay as much attention as I should have to this model. After 40 min. the seat is so uncomfortable, I have to get out and give myself a break. It feels like concrete inside it. The road noise on trips is unbelievable. I really miss my 2003 accord and regret trading up to this model.

  • Be realistic - 2009 Honda Accord
    By -

Have owned this car for 3 months and 4500 miles. It is as advertised, a roomy, practical easy to drive well built vehicle. I also own a Camry LE and a Lexus RX. The accord is typical Honda, stiffer ride more road noise, however the steering - handling and everyday driveability is excellent. For a 4 cyl 3200 lb automatic car the overall performance is fantastic. I have not gotten under 30 mpg on any tankful. The active noise cancellation and adjustable lumber support along with the 190 hp engine warrant paying for the Ex. This is not a perfect car, however for the price -drivability-room-handling- mpg-crash results-resale value and practicality its hard to find something better.

  • Excellent Car - 2009 Honda Accord

I wanted to leave this review just let you know its is very reliable and it is a best car to have. I got into a major accident 2 days ago. I was between 2 cars, I hit 1st car a little, but car behind me didnt hit the brakes and hit me and the 1st car again, but after all it happened Honda Accord was in the best shape of all 3 cars. The front of the car got barely damaged even though it was hit twice, of course the rear end was in bad shape. I have got very little injuries. After all it happened it stayed very stable and saved me.
