Overview & Reviews
Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

Exactly What We Expected - 2005 Honda Accord
By MarkB - September 13 - 10:26 pmHave owned 3 previous Hondas going back to 1981. The 2005 LX is nothing fancy in terms of features, but we werent looking for lots of glitz with this car. Its quiet, the VTEC 4 has plenty of pop, you can easily hit 70 on the on ramp. Weve been getting 27mpg, mix of city and highway. Seats are comfortable, layout of interior and storage locations are nice and make sense. Trunk space is more than youd expect looking at the exterior.

My Hybrid is AWESOME!! - 2005 Honda Accord
By CJ - August 30 - 12:40 amI love my Accord Hybrid!! It is fun to drive and the V6 makes it quick - not gutless in the least. The change between the gas and electric engines is indistinguishable. I love the fact that the dash shows when it is running via the gas engine and also when only the electric engine is on. The braking charges this remarkable car. The price is steep, but as more companies make these cars, the price will drop. All of my friends wish they had this car!!!

04 Acura TL to 05 Accord Hybrid switch - 2005 Honda Accord
By undertoad - August 25 - 4:20 pmAfter 12 months & 25000 + miles in a new TL enough of the hard nose suspension, growly engine and myriad squeeks and rattles. It cost me about 13 cents/mile to switch to the Acccord Hybrid w/Nav but if the first week and 1000 miles are any indication, I wont regret it abit. Fit and finish is noticably better and not a loose piece of plastic anywhere. Low profile tires may be pretty but you pay for it in your butt. The Accord may not corner like the TL but it certainly is smoother AND just as quiet on smooth surfaces. At a steady 60 mph in rural NC the needle hovers around 42 mpg and its not even broken in yet! I gave up a sexy broad for an honest woman.

Ex 6 cyl - 2005 Honda Accord
By Mark - August 11 - 9:53 pmI have owned 5 Hondas since 1999. I typically trade every year but I decided to keep this one. I like the power of the 6 cyl engine and still average 30 mpg. The seats are very comfortable and the car has a quite ride.

Great Value for your money - 2005 Honda Accord
By PC - July 7 - 1:46 pmThis is my 3rd Honda, I currently own a 2002 CRV, and had a 1988 Accord. After doing extensive search to replace my wifes Saturn, the Honda Accord was a hands down winner. I seriously looked at the Camry, which had a quieter road noise than the Accord but not by much, but everything else was a win by the Accord. I am impressed by the comfortable ride ,all the features as well as all the standard saftey features that it comes with, Anti-lock brakes, side air bags, also Goverment crash test results. Honda provides the best value for the money by several thousands of dollars. The heated seats and power driver seat is also a nice feature.

Wonderful - 2005 Honda Accord
By sklr - June 15 - 7:56 pmHeated seats, auto up and down of driver side window...I love it all, its much better than my 03 Camry which had a very rough down-shift and a flaky airbag warning light.

My Very First Car - 2005 Honda Accord
By HBdude - June 4 - 4:36 amBeing 15 1/2 I have been looking for a car that would suit my needs...Ok anything would have been fine I mean driving=freedom but I really wanted something that would be large enough for me not to be cramped in and luxuroius. The Honda Accord EX-L fits my needs, the 160 HP is plenty power for my driving, I took it for a drive down the coast and it handled well in the hilly areas. The quailty of the ride is good from the drives seat but In not expecting it to handle my friends BMWs or Mercedes. The brakes are a bit weak but I adjusted and Im fine with it. The interior is amazing and is roomy for everyone, this car is extremly safe which makes it a great family sedan, or a teen car.
