Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

  • Buyers remorse for me too - 2013 Honda Accord
    By -

I traded in a 2008 Accord sedan for this 2013 Accord Coupe, EX with leather and nav. I wish I hadnt done that. Why? The primary reason is the Coupes ride quality. My 2008 Accord was smooth as silk. The new car is best described as uncomfortably harsh. You feel every bump. I could see this being an exhausting ride, especially for a long drive. Maybe new tires will help? I probably wont know for 3 years or so, when its time to get new tires. Assuming I can deal with riding in a car with no suspension for 3 years. I suggest anyone considering a new Accord take the car for a lengthy test drive over a variety of street surfaces.

  • 2004 Accord Coupe V6 6-Speed Nighthawk Black Pearl - 2004 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought my car new in Nov 2003. The car is approaching 190K miles (Jan2014). I modified my car a few months after purchasing. Basic mods to include cold air intake and catback exhaust, lowering springs, larger rear sway bar, 18" wheels/tires, speakers/sub. The car has been an absolute joy to drive and fun to own! The V6 is fantastic! Mated to a slick shifting 6-speed manual, it performs fairly well on the streets! The leather seats are still in great shape. Overall, Im proud to say that Ive taken great care of my car. I had a 1997 Prelude before trading it in for my 2004. I feel fortunate to have owned 2 of the best cars Honda ever produced! :)

  • Steering Column makes noise when turning slow - 2013 Honda Accord
    By -

Have a 2013 Honda Accord EX-L, purchased new June 2013, after a few months it started making a noticeable but soft popping/clicking noise coming from the steering column when turning the steering wheel. Took it to the dealer twice, they replaced the parts covering the airbag inside the steering column (steering angle sensor & combination bracket), and then finally admitted that there is no known fix to this noise. The Honda service rep even pointed out that a few people working for Honda have experienced the same noise from their 2013 Accords. Im very disappointed and even embarrassed that Im stuck with a new car that makes a funny noise.

  • Love this car. - 2014 Honda Accord
    By -

Ive had the 14 Accord LX for a few months now. Paid $19,000 in SoCal. Pros: I have had NO problems (shaking, judders, shudders, etc) with the CVT. Smooth acceleration and shifting (or whatever it is). Steering is light and responsive. Rearview camera with active guides (it takes awhile to get used to what the lines mean on the guides) Cons: It doesnt support iOS (iphone), so I switched to android. On the drivers side outside mirror, the outer edge is distorted and its a little distracting, im not sure what its supposed to do, but its a fail. The 4 speaker sound system sounds kinda crappy. Small fingerprint-sized area of paint on the hood is slightly dull looking.

  • Big Upgrade from my 2001 Sebring - 2000 Honda Accord
    By -

Ive had the car for about a week now after going through tooth and nail failure with the 2001 Chryslar Sebring. The seats are very comfortable in the EX and the controls make sense where their placed. The back bar in the seat for extra support where you need it is great and the handling is very smooth if you drive considerate. My car has 140k miles on it when i got it and some where and tear are showing with the looseness of the accelerator, and the dashboard lights are flickering on and off from time to time. Gas is alright but im not getting what I thought id get from a Honda. Still a much bigger upgrade from other Sedans of that era. Also no Transmissions issues so far unlike 2002s.

  • Poor Heat and comfort - 2012 Honda Accord
    By -

This car does not blow hot air when the temp is below 0 deg F. If you live in cold climates and dont want to over dress for a long commute to work, then make sure to test drive this car in the winter on a subzero day before buying. I actually took this car back to the dealer to have the heat checked in my first winter. The dealer said it was working normal. Ive since asked other Honda owners about this and they agree that the heat is poor. My old Galant with 230,000 miles heats up much quicker and hotter! I am sadly trading this car in because of this as Im tired of driving in an icebox. For a car with such a vaunted reputation, I am greatly disappointed with this vehicle.

  • Many rattles - 2013 Honda Accord
    By -

When I purchased my first Honda, a 2013 Accord, I expected a consistent vehicle that was comfortable to drive and easy to maintain. While the new features are nice to have, they dont outweigh the incessant rattling noise coming from the dashboard. The dealerships dont seem to know how to fix it, which makes the situation even worse. When you purchase a new vehicle like an Accord, you expect the Honda name to hold up. I have a different opinion of Honda now.

  • School of hard knocks, get what you pay for. - 2014 Honda Accord
    By -

In the market for a new car and a previous Accord owner I jumped ship to a 5th Gen Nissan Altima. On paper it made sense, it offered features the Accord didnt at thousands less. 2 transmissions, a new radio and the dash, moonroof and rear deck rattling like a tin can later Nissan was finally forced to buy it back under lemon law. Back to the Honda lot I went and bought a 2014 EX-L V6. Ill say the car delivers. Its solid, quiet, fuel efficient and styled as aggressively as Id like. The ground doesnt light up when I open the door and the seat doesnt 60/40 split (cmon Honda?), but Im in love with the ride and comfort. Dont agree w/the seat complaints, 10 way pwr suits my bad back!

  • Oil pump, timing chain failure at 15,200 miles - 2013 Honda Accord
    By -

2013 Accord LX, CVT Auto, 15,200 miles (bought new). A few seconds after starting the car, it made a horrendous grinding, screeching sound, with every indicator light on. I did not drive it, and it was towed to a dealer. It needed a new oil pump, timing chain, sprocket, etc - all covered under warranty. The dealer had no idea why the failure occured, and had never seen this on a Honda with so few miles. It took a week to repair, which was a major inconvenience. The car ran fine with no problems at all prior to this incident. I am sorry I purchased a Honda with so many other choices out there. I was sold on their legandary reliability.

  • My 08 Coupe best car ever bought8/ - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

Fonda (as in Fonda the Honda) is one of the bet cars Ive ever purchased. I was a little surpsied that the road noise was a bit more predominant than it should have been considering this was a gosh darn $29,000 purchase brand new, loaded up to the teets and all. My only complaint is the junky paint quality. I swear even looking at the car makes scratches appear. That is ridiculous and Ive spent almost $2,000 in 5 years fixing Fondas scratches, dings, blemishes and it really sucks.....but on other hand, she is black and I knew what I was in for....p.s. I keep saying no more black cars but this is the 3rd in a row....still, the paint should be better [non-permissible content removed]!
